House holiday rentals in Horsley Woodhouse

We had a lovely time staying at the Old Angel with a large group of women. The sheer number of bathrooms was super handy with the large group number, and the living and dining spaces were super functional for a group of our size. There is a one half freezer and a large fridge, which Nicola had left some treats in which was a lovely touch. Bedrooms were well organised and very clean, with towels provided. There’s a village shop right next door, and a pub 20 meters away which was glorious in the May sunshine. Nicola and her team were very helpful in response to any questions/feedback we we had - overall we had a lovely stay and I would recommend this place to others!

We very much enjoyed our stay in this lovely cottage. The space is great and as an extra bonus, you get to use a heated pool and brilliant games room. We went early Jan and there was loads of snow, as well as pretty cold temperatures, but the house warmed up very quickly and we were always more than comfortable. The property is close enough to Bakewell for a short drive or taxi ride, should you want to venture into town. We're thinking about going back in the summer.

Outstanding in every way. This cottage is worth more than 5* it simply cannot be beat. We have been to a lot of nice properties but Richard and Jo have made this property and their 16 acre land simply beautiful. Very nice people as well.

What a wonderful stay at Manor Farm. The house was beautiful, well maintained, extremely spacious and very comfortable. The surrounding countryside was stunning, with great food being served in nearby pubs and plenty of places to visit. Great space for youngsters too, with the wildlife - baby rabbits, sheep and birds and of course the swimming pool and games room, all of which they loved. Thanks to the hosts for their welcome and hospitable atmosphere.

Great value for money. Can't stress enough how friendly and reliable the staff were. We had a lovely week stay, the house was clean, the beds were comfy and the scenery was perfect. We were informed of the booking system for the swimming pool and games room, so you could have the room to yourself which was great. The pool was clean, the games room was kept tidy and the house surroundings were really lovely to walk around. You can tell the grounds were well maintained and kept in good shape as the workers never stopped, but were always so friendly. This property is perfect for bike riders, walkers and pub crawlers. You couldn't get bored.

We had a lovely 2 night family break at Peacock Barn over October half term. It's a beautiful property with fantastic amenities and perfectly located for exploring the many sites and activities the area has to offer. The swimming pool and games room provided the children with a space to play and have fun which was a key factor for choosing this property. The garden was great for our dog providing plenty of space to run around and secure, providing peace of mind. It would be the perfect spot to enjoy during the summer months. We will definitely be returning. Thanks for having us!

Me and my family really enjoyed our stay! The place was clean and there was plenty of space for all 8 of us (and our dog!). The area is stunning, very quiet with plenty of nice walks. The pool/games room area is shared with the other cottages, which wasn't made clear when booking. We thought it was part of our cottage, which we were slightly disappointed to find out this wasn't the case. However, overall we'd still consider staying here again!

What an absolutely beautiful house, I could have stayed forever! The house is in such a peaceful area, there was plenty of parking space and it had great public transport connections. The beds are so comfortable it is unreal. I can't recommend this lovely house enough, if it is available when we visit again next year I will surely be booking to stay here.

This was a lovely little home perfect for our small family. As a family of 3, with our little dog the space suited us. The stairs were steep but the motion sensors ensured that you could see and it was safe. Our 2 year was really safe in the single bedroom as she couldn’t reach the latch on the door and there was nothing in there for her to break in arms length. The little touches and thoughts throughout were what made this place stand out. We brought our own dog blankets to protect the furniture but there were some provided already. A really good thought on how to protect this little home. The village itself was super friendly. Everyone you passed said hello. The local pub was really close and worth trying for a relaxing drink, or a not so relaxing drink with your toddler.

Lovely peaceful house with a homey feel. It was very clean and clear but wasn't a show home which for us was definitely a positive and made us comfortable. The host gave really clear and helpful instructions and although we didn't need to ask anything additional I felt he would respond immediately if required.

Wouldn’t have wanted anything more; great location; clean and tidy; ease of access and parking; Shaun was informative at all times; great range of supermarkets and lovely breakfast locally; Uber deliver which was a bonus; it had it all! Would definitely recommend and will probably use again to do a bit more ‘drier’ walking!

Great stay. The noise detectors are a bit distracting and off putting of a relaxing vibe but can understand why it’s needed. We are not very adverse to hot tubs and found the instructions lacking a little and couldn’t get it working as well as we like but feel like that’s us. Otherwise great location and host is very response, would stay again.

One of the best Airbnb’s we’ve ever stayed at! Jane was a lovely host, so responsive and helpful, and had thought of everything! Property was spotless and well stocked, especially the kitchen which had everything you could need. All beds were very comfortable, showers and bath were fabulous! We stayed with our three year old and one year old, the house is very child friendly and baby safe. Location is ideal for the short walk to Tutbury and for drives around the local area. Would absolutely stay again, highly recommend.

Our stay at Sunshine Cottage was absolutely wonderful! The cottage itself is beautiful, and it's clear a lot of thought has gone into making it pretty, comfortable, and full of everything you need for a fantastic stay. We truly appreciated all the thoughtful touches. Wirksworth and surrounding areas are incredibly charming, offering plenty to explore and enjoy. Well what can I say… if I could give 100 stars I would! Phillipa was amazing. She was so helpful and supportive to me organising my sisters low key hen do here. We had the most amazing time - the perfect cottage. We made friends with lambs, soaked in the hot tub, chilled and ate pies at the red lion! We really felt at home and it was so so special. Phillipa added so many personal touches and we even got to meet one of her little doggies Stanley. Phillipa we WILL be back! Thank you!!!!

A very nice cottage in an excellent location. Very clean with all amenities included. Lots of attractions very close by. Highly recommended Homemade jam much appreciated We really enjoyed our stay!

We only needed the place for one night and left early morning. The house was lovely though and exactly what we needed. Lovely outdoor space, comfy beds and all clean. All in all a great experience

This place is truly beautiful the surroundings are incredible the place is beautiful, garden was lovely and the barn was perfect I would definilty recommend and it was amazing value for money

Julie’s house is super clean and tidy and had everything we needed. She was easy to contact and made some recommendations for eating out locally. My husband was working in Shardlow for a few days and Julie’s house was a comfortable place to stay. We re-booked a few days for the following week.

The photos are stunning, but the view irl is breathtaking. Also, there are hikes within feet of the entrance to the place. We were there in early summer, so there were TWO ice cream stands and a pub with delicious food and drinks within 20 yards of our private outdoor table area (visitors were so jealous!). The flat was exquisitely clean and welcoming. Just magical—-right down to the “witches welcome, muggles tolerated” door mat! Amazing host; amazing stay!
