Cottage holiday rentals in Howsham

We had a fantastic stay at Tim’s place! The location was perfect – just around the corner from local amenities and right in the heart of town. It was also only about 10 minutes to the forest and around 30 minutes to Whitby, which made day trips really easy. The hot tub was spotless and ready to use as soon as we arrived, and we were greeted with a lovely bottle of Prosecco – such a thoughtful touch. Tim was an incredibly responsive and understanding host throughout our stay. We’ll definitely be back in the future

Lovely place to stay plenty of local places to take the dog for a walk and within a 20-25 minute drive you could access numerous other places and towns to visit. Lovely stay and place the hot tub was nice to relax in after long days.

We had a fantastic family holiday with our two children. the house has everything you will need and Marisa was very helpful during our stay. The kids loved the chickens and the hot tub! Great rural location close to lots of great sights Thanks for having us! x

We have just had a fantastic stay at The Lamp Post. We were absolutely blown away by the accommodation. Steve and Andrea have thought of absolutely everything. The whole place is luxury and pristine. The hot tub is so easy to use and definitely an extra added bonus to what is a beautiful place to stay. Thank you so much - we will definitely be returning!

We had a fantastic stay here for 4 nights. It was beautifully clean and had everything and more we needed. Such lovely hosts, very responsive should you need them. Great location! Such an easy drive to a lot of places. We visited Whitby, Scarborough, Pickering, Thornton Le Dale and more! All under 1 hours drive away. Cottage is so homely and very welcoming 😊 Amazing that each room has their own en-suite. Beds are so comfy! Downstairs bedroom was great for us with someone in the party having mobility issues. Games room is a fabulous touch! Sauna and hot tub both very clean. Highly recommend to stay here. Thanks for a wonderful stay 🥰

Really enjoyable stay. Everything was perfect, and I would return if I were back in the area. The location was peaceful, private, and surrounded by beautiful nature — exactly what I was hoping for. The space was spotless, cozy, and thoughtfully designed, with all the amenities I needed for a comfortable and relaxing getaway.

Lovely relaxing cottage with everything we needed. Very cosy and relaxing setting with great views from back windows. Enclosed garden for dog or children. Hot tub was a great perk which was well used by us. Rillington village within 10 min walk which had a small shop and a nice pub ( the fleece). Tips for other travellers The fleece in rillington has a nice garden of weather nice and the food was nice too and dog friendly Ham and cheese which is a 5 minute drive the food was very good and dog friendly too although probably too far to walk Lots of walks nearby, we went to dalby Forrest, mallyham spout in goathland and Levisham near Pickering New Connie’s Chinese in malton was also very good

We had a great 2 night stay at pond cottage. There is lots of room for 4 people both within the house and outside. The hot tub and seating area were a highlight that we utilised for most of our stay as the weather was perfect! Henry and Jane were great hosts providing good instructions, a warm welcome and a few generous gifts aswell. Just worth noting to enter the what3words co-ordinates into the Sat nav to get the right place.

Had a great stay at the bungalow. It was well equipped and the outside area was lovely to sit in and was secure for our Dog to go out in. Great location in a quiet beautiful area where you could sit and relax in the garden. We enjoyed the beautiful walks Rebecca had suggested by the river and in the woods. Also enjoyed visiting Beningbrough national trust which was round the corner. Rebecca made us very welcome with treats on our arrival for both us and Honey, she gave us very clear guidance on everything we needed to know and directions prior to our arrival. She also gave us great, clear information for Honey as well as recommendations for walks and dog friendly pubs/restaurants. We will definitely be returning for another visit in the future.

The Longhouse was exactly as described and pictured. Everything was spotlessly clean, beds comfortable, and rooms having great character. Easy check in and welcome from Gill and easy check out. A very easy walk into Pickering, and easy parking for our cars across the road (with one parked behind the cottage). Plenty of room for our three generations to have their own space.

We had a lovely time at Fuschia Cottage. It felt welcoming and cosy. Everywhere was clean and tidy. The kitchen was well equipped and the milk, tea and coffee were welcome. Maybe the addition of some salt and pepper would be good but this is the only suggestion. Kirkbymoorside is very well placed for the coast and the North York Moors. Overall a fantastic stay. We will be back, Im sure.

Skylark cottage is in a lovely spot, a perfect retreat from busy life and a really calming space inside and out. It was spotless, cosy and well equipped. The newly created wood was a joy to walk through and our dog loved it here too!

What a fantastic little cottage, perfect for a weekend away. Lovely hosts and perfect location for exploring Yorkshire, we would definitely recommend and hope to visit again sometime.

We'd a lovely stay at Matthew's place. It's clean and peaceful. Matthew's nice and helpful. He even prepared cereals, milk and bread for breakfast.

Lovely and peaceful, the accommodation was very homely, the shower and the huge bath was amazing, the bath towels were lovely and soft, I would recommend this lovely home to anyone who wants to visit North Yorkshire, we visited Scarborough, York and Whitby. My 2 Labradors Betsy and Barney thoroughly enjoyed the beach at Scarborough and Whitby. Most of the areas we visited welcomed dogs, which was amazing. There is a nice shopping centre called Monks Park, half an hours drive but worth the drive. There are some lovely restaurants there also. Would not recommend the Indian in Malton, very disappointing but the Indian in Pickering called Spice 4 U was very nice and reasonably priced. Thank you Carol for sharing your accommodation with my family.

The Spinney is a cosy comfortable cottage and is well equipped. The location is in beautiful countryside and ideal for a peaceful relaxing getaway. Micheal is a lovely Host and made us feel very welcome. Nothing was too much trouble and he was always interested in our adventures. Both he and Caroline were so friendly and helpful. A wonderful place to stay.

We had the most wonderful stay. We searched many airbnbs and were really taken by the peaceful location, and the quality and care that was put into making it a 5* experience. It was importantly very clean, we had a lovely welcome basket, and the hosts were very helpful and responsive. We would def stay again xx

Our second visit to this property. And I am sure we will back for another. Close to the city yet so peaceful, looking out onto meadows and grazing cattle. The property is clean and welcoming. You feel at home the moment you step through the door.

Nice comfortable stay. Perfect base for visiting the places we had planned. Would recommend booking a table at the local pub, 30 seconds down the road. Don’t be put off by this as there was no noise or disturbances. Lovely playground a short walk away.

We have thoroughly enjoyed an all too brief, relaxing stay at Tarrs Yard. From entering the charming cottage, to leaving, one can't fail to be impressed by all that Lizzie and Andy have so stylishly created. The helpful, informative folder inside the cottage provides for guests' range of interests and enables visitors to capitalise on the hosts' wealth of knowledge and experience of the area. We can't wait to return and anticipate discovering more of what this area affords, whilst assured of a restful, peaceful property to daily return to. Thank you to you both for our introduction to North Yorkshire.

We loved our stay in David’s Thump Cottage. Everything was clean, comfortable and peaceful. We spent a day with David touring the Yorkshire countryside and some beautiful gardens, eventually making our way to a lovely, remote, historical pub. We could not have imagined the beautiful day and friendship we experienced. The town (and all the towns) and area is beyond beautiful. We cooked a few meals in the modern kitchen for breakfast and evening meals (we prefer to be home by dark) or ate leftovers from the huge portions served at restaurants and pubs. (Our afternoons were when we visited the restaurants and pubs.) We plan to return to see David and continue our journey north to Scotland someday ♥️ In other words we highly recommend Thump Cottage 😊 Thank you again, David, for sharing your amazing cottage with us. 🏡

Hi Cath Thank you for a lovely stay in your gorgeous barn. It was perfect for our needs and we had a really lovely time at Bramham. Our horse did well cross country - clear over a big course, but he had 3 show jumps down - not his forte!! I hope your grand-daughter got to see him. We had the most wonderful stay here! The cottage was perfect for me and my family. We instantly felt at home when we arrived. Location is very peaceful over looking horses in the field opposite. The cottage had everything we needed. The beds were so comfortable and everything had been done to a high standard. Fresh flowers and music playing when we arrived was a lovely touch as well! 10 out of 10! Would come back and stay again and again.
