Holiday rentals with a fireplace in Isle of Wight

A beautiful and unique holiday place. Tucked away and hard to find which gave it added charm. Good location for walks. Peaceful garden with views. It had everything we needed and more. In Freshwater we learned about the fascinating lives of literary heroes and well known figures in the Victorian era - such as Tennyson, Garibaldi, Darwin, pioneer photographer Julia Margaret Cameron, Lewis Carroll, Edward Lear and Charles Kingsley who all met and lived nearby. Don’t miss the Dimbola museum and cafe.

The house was spacious and suitable for 4 adults, 2 children and 1 dog. Although alongside a main road very quiet, a local convenience store just a short walk along the main road. The lovely part of the location was walk up the road and then the costal path, one way to Shanklin and the other to Sandown, The local swimming pool is really good, also has gym facilities. A really good property to stay at, we recommend it.

I have stayed in many Airbnb properties over the years, but this surpasses them all! The location on the beach, with facilities which lacked nothing, would top anyone's expectations. The décor was bright and fresh, suiting the house perfectly. This property is of the highest standard.

This is our second stay at Longwood Edge and we loved it just as much the second time round. It’s a fabulous home in a great location. Really well laid out with everything you could possibly need. We absolutely love the open plan living space, it’s great for spending time with friends and family. The outside space is great too, a lovely spot for a drink and relaxing. It’s a peaceful location but only a few minutes drive from both Ventnor and Shanklin. I would definitely recommend it.

We had the most lovely stay! We felt right at home, it was beautiful and comfortable and we were in complete awe the moment we walked in. The amenities were perfect. Cannot fault anything! Kate was extremely helpful, attentive and friendly. She made us feel so welcome and was extremely responsive. I would highly recommend a stay here and we will definitely be back to stay again.

We had a perfect weekend at Bag End Cottage - the place is really homely and Nicholas had provided lots of nice touches like a treat filled welcome pack that really made our stay. The cottage is well laid out and has two separate living areas if needed. We enjoyed the light and bright open plan kitchen /sitting area with doors opening out in the lovely sunny garden with the hot tub. Bedrooms were comfortable and with two bathrooms it was ideal for a two couple stay. The location is really close into town but also remarkably peaceful. Nicholas really went above and beyond to make our weekend so easy. Clear instructions before arrival for directions and parking, and good recommendations for restaurants. He also came to our rescue when we had a slight key situation (of our own making)..... Very responsive and friendly host. Highly recommend and we are looking forward to staying next time we are in Cowes.

The location was perfect .. Closer to the Village yet still walkable to the beach .. house was ultra modern .. beautifully furnished , high quality crockery , glasses etc . Beds were super comfy and beautiful high quality bed linen . The outdoor space was perfect for the dog , would have loved a hot tub rather than a sauna ..( just saying 🤣) Great bathrooms huge showers .. will definitely re book

We had an amazing stay - the property is breathtaking. Clean and modern, comfortable and a good size. The dogs were safe in the garden as it's all fenced in. The balcony with views over sea is stunning and we enjoyed having coffee out there every morning then soaking in the hot tub in the evening after a day venturing out to the local sites (the sea excursion and Ventnor Botanical gardens are well worth doing!). Thank you for a fabulous stay - we're already planning to return next year!

We enjoyed having a spacious and clean property. The lounge was comfortable and it had multiple board games, perfect for family games (2 adults 2 kids). Three outdoor place was very comfortable to sit and relax. Note that the staircase was quite steep and long, it wasn't an issue but if someone has mobility issues, it would be a downside. We appreciated the discount to the ferry and the included all Island parking during our stay. Ventnor had various great places to grab a bite and ice cream, great town.

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful apartment on the Isle of Wight. Located in a stunning Georgian building, the space is full of character with impressively high ceilings, large windows, and breathtaking sea views. The apartment is cosy, thoughtfully decorated with great taste, and equipped with everything a traveller could possibly need. It was also perfect for staying with our toddler – a travel cot was provided, which made things so much easier. The location couldn’t be better: just a stone’s throw from both the beach and the high street, making it easy to explore and enjoy the local area. All in all, a truly enjoyable stay. Highly recommend and would love to return!

Stayed here for 3 nights with my family. Had a great stay the house is fabulous very clean and spacious really central close to shops restaurants etc. We felt right at home. Anna was very responsive to some questions we had. We will definitely be booking again as we regularly visit the island as my brother and his family live there. Would highly recommend 👍

Beautiful apartment with stylish quirky decor. Everything you need for a great stay in a very accessible handy location right by ferry bridge. Local shops and marina nearby. Jonathan and Rebecca are friendly helpful hosts who arranged for a much appreciated early check-in. Highly recommend for a visit to nearby Osborne House or Cowes.

A fantastic place to stay, great location with stunning views . Very peaceful location and great having a parking space outside the apartment. The apartment was extremely clean and tidy, with comfortable beds and good quality linen and towels. The welcome pack was very well received. We will definitely stay here again , only 10mins walk to Cowes centre .

A truly wonderful place to stay. Very unique with beautiful antique period furniture. Very peaceful and a lovely garden with outstanding views. Harry was very promt to reply to messages. He greeted us and showed us around then checked we were ok the following day. The property is very close to the town and transport links. Onsite parking was an added bonus.

Rosie's place was lovely. Great views of sandown and the sea, a short walk from the sea front, and very spacious for the price. The owners are very thoughtful and the apartment was very well kept and tidy when we arrived. We had a wonderful holiday and I would highly recommend rosie's place for anyone looking to spend time on the isle of wight.

This is the best location on the island. Perfect view over the Esplanade and the sea but still peaceful and private. Near to great coast walks and the town centre. Comfy beds, plenty of comfortable sofas and chairs, great outdoor furniture on the balcony, well equipped kitchen and lovely bathrooms. Dawn was friendly and responsive. Couldn’t fault it! A wonderful place in every way.

Each summer a U.K. FAMILY holiday is planned for three generations ..ages 5 up to well quite a lot! The choice this year was to go to Simons place.and what a find for everyone. A characterful house. Inside spacious spotless , kitchen brilliant ,, bedrooms roomy , bathroom ( particularly first floor) fabulous, living room so homely with Simons personal collection of books, his piano, homeliness beyond, and with cable Tv Incorporating Sports channels , and Netflix and Prime Video . Outside the decking in the rear garden a wonderful morning sun trap , the front garden full of charm with BBQ facilities and two squirrels nicknamed Bill and Bob..there every morning … The location very peaceful , parking at front and rear of property . Local shops , and the beach within easy 5-10 minutes walk and buses same time away into Bournemouth Poole and Christchurch . A wonderful seven days

We were staying at Tim's place for few days with grandparents, two young kids and the dog. House is in a great location, few minutes from the beach, shops, playground and some local activities. House was spacious to accommodate us all. Driveway can accommodate up to two cars. Small but nice enclosed garden. Tim was responsive and was on hand to answer queries. :)

The house was the perfect place for our family and we enjoyed staying here so much we’ve actually already booked to come back! Having access to the beach meant being able to quickly pop down with our small children around bedtimes and naps and waking up to the view every morning was magical! The house had everything you could ever need, was so clean and comfortable and we instantly felt relaxed the minute we walked inside! Thank you Daisy! X

We loved our stay at the beach. Such a beautiful location and so different than our sand beaches we have in the US. The rocky beach may not be for everyone but it was perfect for us as we weren't going to be swimming in April anyways. The house itself was wonderful and inviting - nothing bad to say about it.

We absolutely loved Joanna's place and had a great weekend. It was extremely comfortable and in the perfect position to enjoy the beach and everything around us. Our dogs were also very happy and the garden was safe and secure for them with a bit of grass. The house is well laid out. The bedroom was comfortable and the linen first class. Joanna was helpful and welcoming and available at all times. Highly recommended!

Lovely family home in the heart of the new forest. Was perfect for a pre Christmas getaway with lovely fireplace and warm Arga in the kitchen. Ian and team were very accommodating and it was lovely to have our two cocker spaniels with us to enjoy long daily walks in the forest. Will definitely be back again

James is a lovely person and his home is really magical and he gave us total privacy but was ready to help or advise on anything, it was a lovely experience and definitely going back the house is fantastic really special and huge I have never slept in such a huge house even the bathroom was lovely the house is really authentic and fabulous wild garden I loved the windows beautiful location really quiet
