Holiday rentals with a fire pit in Jackson County

If you are looking for a place in the country to unplug this is an amazing option. The place was easy to find and not too far from the hiking trails we were visiting. Overall a very nice place to stay.

We were in Rio for the graduation with family from three states . We all felt like there a ton of space , wonderfully appointed & vey walkable . We enjoyed to patio, screened in porch & yard space.

Our trip was wonderful though we was dealing with Children and Dogs. Nicole checked up on us often. Our dogs loved the area. Our one daughter thought it was " Our new house". Overall, great for familys that want to visit the Galla County area and want to get away from busy life and light pollution.

We’ve stayed at Bobbi’s place for many years in a row and will always be back! The house is spacious, squeaky clean, comfortable beds, quiet location. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need. It’s great for families (high chair and pack and play are at the house!) We love it.

Stayed for a week and found the house very beautiful and homey. Enough space to find privacy, but allows for space to move around and interact. Would recommend to anyone if they are in the area; host were very responsive and helpful with any questions!

Only stayed 1 night traveling thru but Airbnb was great. Very cozy, definitely felt like home.

Ron and Karen communicated what we needed as tenants very well. When I was starting to think about checking out I already received detailed instructions. The amount of amenities that they provided was second to none. I have nothing but good things to say about staying at this place and working with Ron and Karen.

Lovely relaxing spot! We came here for a five person group trip and the accomodations were perfect. We loved the style of the house, all the space, and of course the hot tub! Our only regret was not scheduling a long stay.

Cindy has an amazing place to stay that was easily accessible for my family. Although we had a-lot of running around for my son’s graduation, it was nice to have a place to go back to rest up. Sorry we didn’t have time to meet face to face, but Cindy answered any emails promptly. We definitely recommend Cindy’s place to our friends that have children at Ohio U and want a close place to stay in the future. If we ever plan a trip back, we w look yo book again. Thanks again Cindy!

We had problems with the WiFi and Hanna and her husband came over at 11 pm and fixed the problem! They are good people! I'll stay there again!

A Hidden Gem on the Water. From the moment we arrived, watching the golden hues of sunset reflect off the water was an experience in itself. But the real adventure began with the incredible activities offered. Kayaking along the shoreline, gliding through the peaceful waters and discovering hidden coves was the perfect way to soak in the natural beauty of this lake. The Pontoon boat ride was equally unforgettable, with our knowledgeable host, Matt, sharing fascinating stories about the lake’s history and the surrounding area. Learning about the local landmarks and the rich history that shaped this area made the experience even more special. The property itself is cozy, welcoming, and thoughtfully designed for relaxation. Whether sipping coffee on the deck or simply enjoying the fresh, crisp air, every moment here felt relaxing, refreshing and rejuvenating.

My husband and I stayed at Idyll Reserve 5 (The North) for two nights in January and had a fabulous stay! 🌲❄️ The cabin was thoughtfully designed, tastefully decorated, and very spacious for the two of us (& could accommodate a small family easily). It had all the amenities you’d need for a cozy stay — spacious, fully-stocked kitchen (with coffee & espresso maker! ☕️), comfy couch, living room with large windows & beautiful views of the surrounding woods, walk-in double shower & soaking tub, and our personal favorites — the outdoor hot tub and sauna! Laura was extremely responsive and communication regarding check-in was the best I’ve had with an Airbnb host. We could have easily stayed several more days. Hocking Hills State Park is just a ~10 minute drive away (we did some gorgeous hiking to Ash Cave, Old Man’s Cave, and Cedar Falls all within a half day). We’re already planning our next trip back with our kids! 🥰

What a wonderful retreat! I stayed by myself as a little momma get away and it was perfect. The Zucchini bread is as good as everyone says! The hot tub was wonderful! The hosts were extremely responsive whenever I needed anything and really helpful! There are even games and toys for kids/toddlers if that is what you’re doing. I of course was vacationing FROM the kids toys lol but I love that if we go back there are things for the kids. Be advised that this is a basement apartment so you’ll hear footsteps and sometimes muffled voices just like you would in any house. It didnt bother me at all! The views are spectacular and the property is just so peaceful. 10/10 would recommend for sure!!

Steve’s cabin was just like described . Exceptionally clean and very cozy . No complaints at all and would highly recommend.

The place itself was very nice, but unfortunately it hadn’t been cleaned before we arrived. We had to spend several hours washing and drying all the sheets and cleaning the space ourselves — not ideal, especially since we were there for a wedding and wanted to enjoy our time, not prep the house. Dan refunded the $65 cleaning fee, but honestly, it didn’t quite make up for the time and effort we had to put in. The internet didn’t work at the house, but Dan was great about offering access to an event center he owns nearby, which helped when we needed to connect. The hot tub also wasn’t warm when we arrived, so we couldn’t use it the first day. That said, Dan was kind, responsive, and clearly cares about his guests. I truly believe he did everything he could to make things right. With a few improvements on the prep and amenities, this could be a great stay.

Our family of four enjoyed a quiet get away nestled in the trees with a beautiful lake view. The cabin was lovely. Inside was cozy and a great space to decompress together. We enjoyed card games at the table. My personal favorite was the porch swing. I spent the mornings with coffee in hand and evenings with a book. We are grateful for the serene getaway - away from the hustle and bustle of Kansas City and close enough to Jackson/Wellston where we met up with family and friends. Thanks Randy & Deb for the great stay.

We loved the cabin that we stayed in(The Sheriffs Office). It was so cozy and cute. The pictures and the description matched perfectly to what we saw in person. The area is so peaceful & quiet as well. Christine was so kind to check in on us a couple of times throughout our stay. She even was so kind enough to take us out to her farm to feed her baby cows and make us homemade popcorn. Uh, it was an incredible experience. She made us feel so welcome. Such a friendly, sweet gal. Thank you so much again, Christine! You are the best!! :)

The owners were super friendly and helpful in getting us exactly what we were looking for. They went out of their way to show us the best places to fish and were friendly and responsive to all of our questions! Will highly recommend and would love to stay again!

I live in Jackson Co and hosted my college friends for the weekend. The cabin was far enough from town that we were able to enjoy the quiet but also were close to everything. Randy was a fantastic host and communicated the potential bad weather with us and checked in. Now that I know this spot exists, it will be a staple every time I host. Great location and beautiful cabin!

Everytime I stay here, I love it more! The private setting and beautiful woods are great. I highly recommend this for anyone looking to get away and enjoy nature.
