Cozy spot in quiet, small town Albany above a lively corner cafe. We stayed here for a month during the holidays to visit nearby family and enjoyed our stay. Gregg has added a ton of thoughtful touches (decor, comfy blankets/pillows, plenty of seating) that make for a nice area to hangout, large beds in both bedrooms and a well stocked kitchen for cooking. The apartment is on the second floor above a cafe at an intersection so there is some neighborly noise but it’s great for a coffee lovers waking up to the smell of freshly roasted and steps from the cafe. Gregg is extremely responsive and friendly for any/all requests and messages. We would definitely stay here again if we’re in the area and would recommend if you’re looking for a nice two bedroom stay near Athens

A Hidden Gem on the Water. From the moment we arrived, watching the golden hues of sunset reflect off the water was an experience in itself. But the real adventure began with the incredible activities offered. Kayaking along the shoreline, gliding through the peaceful waters and discovering hidden coves was the perfect way to soak in the natural beauty of this lake. The Pontoon boat ride was equally unforgettable, with our knowledgeable host, Matt, sharing fascinating stories about the lake’s history and the surrounding area. Learning about the local landmarks and the rich history that shaped this area made the experience even more special. The property itself is cozy, welcoming, and thoughtfully designed for relaxation. Whether sipping coffee on the deck or simply enjoying the fresh, crisp air, every moment here felt relaxing, refreshing and rejuvenating.

Beautiful loft! Stunning bathrooms! Fun patio to enjoy the sunshine and sunsets! Park and street walking with great restaurants and coffee right outside your door! Plenty of space for guests to have private areas. Cute little town!

Our stay at Kate's place was wonderful—it brought to mind a recent conversation my husband and I had, chatting about what makes a travel experience stand out. We agreed that if we ever ran an Airbnb, we’d prioritize small details that matter—like well-stocked linens, quality kitchenware, and a personal touch to make guests feel welcome. Kate, you’ve got all of that covered perfectly! Your place felt warm and inviting from the moment we arrived, with every detail thoughtfully in place. The guest book was a highlight, filled with notes from other travelers that gave us a sense of connection. The linens were plentiful, and the kitchen had great cookware, making meal prep a breeze. It felt like a boutique hotel but with the comfort of a home. Check-out was super easy—just leave the beds unmade and take the trash out back. We’re so thankful for the effort you put into this space and for sharing it with us. Your care made our stay so enjoyable, and we’re looking forward to visiting again!

What a great place to stay! Well appointed, private, quiet. House was pristine on arrival. This place feels like it is worth the money! Dean is very responsive, helpful, and provided outstanding communication throughout. We will definitely be back!

My family and I stayed here to essentially rest after a long graduation trip and wow did we! The home and surrounding area was very beautiful. We didn’t get to see much of it the evening as we arrived due to a late check-in. But in the morning, it was stunning and calming. The space was very clean and tidy. We had 8 guest in total and there was plenty of space for us to sleep. We very much enjoyed our stay. The host was very responsive and very nice! I loved staying here and would definitely do so again.

Lori was a great host! She sent us local recommendations before our stay, told us everything we needed to know before arriving, and even left us a little treat on the counter. She was quick to respond and very kind in every message she sent! The house itself was exactly as pictured, the road leading up to it wasn’t perfect for sedans but we made do - another thing Lori warned us about 😅 it had been raining so that likely didn’t help either! It was easy to let ourselves into the house, the bathroom was stocked, everything was clean, the kitchen and living space were cozy and the lofted bed area was great too. The view from the front porch was awesome, we loved seeing the river. At night we saw several bats flying around too, which we loved! Checkout instructions were simple, and the checkout time wasn’t too early. Overall we had a lot of fun here and this was the perfect way to end our day!

Great place within walking distance to downtown Chilicothe. The home was super clean and perfect for a family of 6. Chip responded within minutes and was very flexible with the check in time. Thank you Chip! Jeff & Kristy Cummins

Stayed for a week and found the house very beautiful and homey. Enough space to find privacy, but allows for space to move around and interact. Would recommend to anyone if they are in the area; host were very responsive and helpful with any questions!

Ron and Karen communicated what we needed as tenants very well. When I was starting to think about checking out I already received detailed instructions. The amount of amenities that they provided was second to none. I have nothing but good things to say about staying at this place and working with Ron and Karen.

The Higby House is very well maintained and comfortable to stay in. The host is friendly and accommodating. You won't be disappointed with your stay.
