Pet-friendly holiday rentals in Johannesburg

The property was simply amazing. The rooms were big each with lovely ensuite bathrooms. It has a well appointed kitchen and a large dining room table that would sit 10 people very comfortably. An added bonus is the dining room table converts to a pool table. The area is extremely quiet away from the hussle and bustle of Johannesburg and superbly situated to get to the various golf courses we were playing as well as some great restaurants. It has all the facilities for entertaining outside including a swimming pool which would be amazing in the summer months, as well as a large garden. The house is kept spotless by housekeeping who came in every day (except Sunday) to clean and make up the rooms. Finally, I cannot say enough about our host Charmaine. Very friendly and responsive throughout the whole process. Thank you Charmaine, you were brilliant and we all thank you for letting us feel so at home!

Slee was an amazing host. Very patient and accommodating. She is friendly and always available to answering my questions or being able to help me when I call her. The space was clean, beautiful backyard. I love the indoor braai area. It was lovely having my staycation there

An oasis of calm and peace. A large space as many have mentioned and also a bit dated. That doesn’t take anything away from the experience though. Marie is delightful and proactive with communications. Reaching out when the weather became cold to see if we needed extra blankets was very thoughtful. The gift bags were also a lovely touch. We felt very safe and had everything we needed as well as clear instructions.

We felt right at home during our stay - the space was warm, beautifully set up, and had everything we needed, including more than enough blankets to keep us cozy. The hosts were incredibly responsive and made everything so seamless from start to finish. Thank you for such a lovely experience - we’d definitely love to return!

Michael is very committed, friendly, extremely helpful and easily accessible! The house offers plenty of space for a large group to enjoy and relax. The garden, the Braai area, is very inviting for hours. The decor throughout the house leaves nothing to be desired, everything is in impeccable condition, the rooms are very spacious, it just has plenty of space! The kitchen is very spacious and has everything you need for cooking, baking, sizzling! The house has twice a week, on request more, a lady who takes care of the rooms, cleanliness and care of the house. She is a very hearty and lovely person, always happy to help out. The gardeners are very committed, keep the beautiful garden area very clean and very well maintained. In short: a little paradise. For us as golfers all the more because the house allows the view of the Parkview GC...always exciting to watch other golfers interpret the game for themselves.

A truly wonderful place to spend a few days (or longer) in the heart of Sandton. I will certainly be back.

We had the pleasure of staying at Stanley & Alison's cottage for a long stay, and it was absolutely wonderful! From the moment we arrived, we felt at home. Our cat, Meadow, was warmly welcomed, which meant so much to us. The cottage is nestled among stunning trees and abundant wildlife, creating a peaceful and serene atmosphere. Its location is incredibly convenient—close to Melrose Arch, Rosebank Mall, Norwood Mall, and just about anything else we needed. The cottage itself is spacious, well maintained, and thoughtfully equipped with everything we could need in the kitchen, bathroom, and for linens. The weekly visits from the friendly cleaner and helpful gardener were a lovely bonus and added to the ease of our stay. Stanley & Alison were excellent hosts, and we truly loved every moment of our time here. We can’t recommend this cottage enough to anyone looking for a relaxing and well-situated retreat. We had a wonderful stay at this lovely 3-bedroom home! Our family of 6, plus our infant, were very comfortably accommodated. The house was exactly as listed—clean, spacious, and equipped with all the promised amenities. It felt very homey and perfect for a family getaway. The host went above and beyond—she was incredibly courteous and responsive throughout our stay. We were especially touched that she even purchased a baby bath for us, in addition to providing the cot listed in the description. Her thoughtful gestures and prompt communication made our trip smooth and stress-free. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and wouldn’t hesitate to return. Highly recommend!

This cottage is an absolutely lovely place to stay. Cosy, well furnished, with a private garden to sit and enjoy some quiet time among the beautiful tree ferns. We only stayed a night on our way transiting through Joburg but found the commute of abt 30 mins to OR Tambo perfectly manageable. very safe within a boom gated community and close to the shops at Four Ways amd Design Quarter. Quality bed linen, a jacuzzi style bath, and lovely welcoming selection of complimentary snacks were much appreciated. Deirdre and her husband welcomed us and made us and showed us around, making us feel instantly at home. we'll definitely be back! Thank you

I had the pleasure of staying at Caryn’s place for two weeks. Everything was as described, the place was spotless thanks to the lovely lady Vicky. It’s close to shops and restaurants. The garden was nice and peaceful. I would definitely recommend this place. Hope to stay there again.

We loved staying here! The host are hospitable and very friendly. They have a bag in the garage, that my husband loved. If I would say the place needs something, it would be a heated blanket. Other than that, the gas heater worked fine in the living room area.

What a wonderful space!! Our stay at Serendipity Cottage was wonderful. Our only regret - that we had so much planned out and about with family that we didn't spend more time at the cottage itself. Most comfortable bed I have ever slept in (please send me the mattress details!) and it had everything we could have wanted or asked for. We will be back for sure and this time will make sure we have more time physically at Serendipity to enjoy it and the lovely surrounding garden. Thank you Andrew for having us!
