Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Kalamazoo County

For the second year in a row, we stayed at the Airbnb on Long Lake. When I got there, it felt like coming home. I told my husband this feels like a home away from home. I woke up every morning to the sound of birds, and saw turtles, geese, and ducks on the lake. The host always responded within 20 minutes of any questions I had to ask. We have already booked our stay for next month and will continue to do this for years to come. I cannot recommend this lovely home on the lake enough.! Enjoy😎

Highly recommend staying here for a lake vacation! It’s a beautiful spot with easy swimming, kayaking, and fishing right out the back door. It was extremely clean and comfortable, and the kitchen was well stocked with cooking items and dishes. The beach towels and chairs that were available were so helpful to us. And Alanna graciously allowed us a late check out after our son’s baseball game so we didn’t have to rush. I will say, we had 4 adults and 5 kids (1 toddler) and this place certainly can accommodate everyone, but probably better suited for a family of 5-6 if you have to spend time indoors. But our kids even said they wanted to make this a yearly vacation spot.

Loved it so much we never left! 😀 My family was displaced after the May 7th Portage Tornado, and Aryn was super accommodating to us, which allowed our family of 5 get out of hotel living. Extending our stay past the initial 3 months, while our home is rebuilt, as this place now feels like home. Beautiful 3 season porch overlooking a wooded area has allowed us to watch 3 baby deer, that were born the week we got here, grow. Can't wait for the Fall colors to change. Thank you Aryn, truly.

A truly great fully-fenced place to stay with well-behaved dogs. There were places on the property to relax inside and out. A great retro gamer basement was a surprise. Lots of close by restaurants, but it was also lots of fun to eat outside and enjoy the garden.

We stay in many, many airbnbs and we both love this one. It is very private and very peaceful. We were there 4 nights and we were sad to leave. The KS bed was super comfy.The view is awesome. Can’t wait to come back!

We weren't there much, but the master bed was sooooo comfortable! Great water pressure. Huge TV in the living room area! This next thing may be small to some people but to me, having nice toilet paper matters! They had great toilet paper LOL. I usually go to the store and buy my own, but didn't have to here!!

What a great stay! Peaceful and the perfect get away while still being close to anywhere we wanted to go. The hot tub was a huge plus as well! Highly recommend staying here. Nathaniel was friendly and communicative, and we had any and everything we needed during our stay.

Stayed here a few times now and always a great visit. Located just outside of town with lots of privacy, but close to everyday needs. Cabin always meets description and well stocked to get our stay off to the right start. Will stay again! Great place for couples, families with kids, and dog owners.

We had a wonderful stay at Christopher’s apartment. The house was very spacious, clean and tidy equipped with all the necessities needed. We highly recommend his listed. We promise you will not be disappointed.

We loved Alexi's place. Very cute and comfortable. The neighbors are very welcoming and kind. This will definitely be our go-to place to unwind when in Kalamazoo!

Cute one bedroom, one bath. Private and secure. Easy to find. In a walkable neighborhood with the right weather or an easy 5 minutes drive to most restaurants or things to do. Perfect for a couple. Relatively quiet as far as neighbors and the neighborhood.

This was our second time staying here for a visit to Kalamazoo College, where my kid is considering going. This apartment is clean and has all you need for a short stay. It's in a lovely neighborhood with several things you can walk to. The best breakfast/brunch at Crow's Nest and the best coffee at Fourth Coast are just around the block. And there's a restaurant (I think Italian food - we didn't eat there) basically next door to the house, so you don't need to go far for a bite to eat. You can also walk to a record store, a bagel restaurant, and some other things. There are 2 things to keep in mind: the beds are stiff/firm, so if that's something that bothers you, you may want to bring a mattress topper (I am used to a very soft bed so I always have a hard time when I travel because most beds are so firm), and it's also a very bouncy mattress. And the downstairs neighbor tends to have their TV up super loud! This happened last time too. But thankfully they didn't keep it on all night.

Great place. Clean. Large space. Great location to downtown. Hosts gave me rides to and from airport which was great!! I’d book again. One thing that threw me off was the hosts live there and is shared living space with them. I thought it was maybe shared with another renter. Probably describe that in the listing but they were great and most accommodating hosts I’ve ever had from getting food and drinks I needed to providing rides

I traveled to Michigan with my sister for a family reunion, so I wanted a place with two separate bedrooms. Boz's place was a great choice. It is one unit in a community of four-unit apartment buildings. It was probably built in the 1970s, but it has been fixed up well. Everything was squeaky clean. I walked around in new white socks and had no worries about getting them dirty. Boz included some nice details, including fluffy towels and a big new bar of soap. The shower is mounted up high, which I appreciate because I'm tall. The unit has its own 40-gallon water heater. There was a bowl with packaged snacks like granola bars, which was helpful in the morning to hold me over before I left for breakfast. The location is three minutes (by car) from an Aldi grocery store, but I never used it on this trip. I ate breakfast every day at Roxie's which is a great place that's only about four minutes away. I will be happy to stay here again next time I visit Kalamazoo.

We stayed here for a week as I grew up in Michigan and was going back to visit family and friends! It was a great place to stay, Carlene was responsive and very good at checking in with us throughout our stay! We felt right at home and cozy all week. Will definitely stay here again when we go back to Kalamazoo!

This was such a lovely spot for a relaxing beach trip! Super clean with easy access to the water and some great added bonuses at the dock. Communication was easy and clear--would definitely recommend!
