Summer paradise by Göta Kanal

Gammalrud is a farm, which is located in the northern part of the peninsula, which goes into Lake Viken and is called Vika forests. Here we conduct forestry and lamb production since 1976. Surrounded by the beautiful forest, lake Viken (the highest point of Göta Kanal) and the hospitality of Thord and Ulla, this is your idyllic home away from home. We have renovated the old farm dairy, "Mejeriet", and made it into a nice home that we rent out to guests. The ground floor consists of a hallway, a kitchen suited for 8 persons and a large living room with a cozy fireplace. The living room floor is made of hand-made bricks from the old brickworks in the nearby village Horn. The upper floor consists of one large room with wooden floor and alcoves for 6 persons. At the old canal landing, we have built a large boathouse. Here is a place, not just for boats, but also for gatherings and parties. If you´d like to go fishing you are more than welcome to rent our small boat to try your luck catching pike, perch or any of the other fish in lake Viken. There is also a sauna in the Boathouse. Gammalrud is a farm dating back to the Middle Ages. A full list of previous owners dates back to 1498. In the 1600s, Gammalrud became a manor when the first corp de logi was built by Thord Jönsson Reuterberg. In the 1800s, Gammalrud became part of the Swedish industrial history by one of the owners, Theodor Winborg, also known as “Ättikskungen” , the founder of Winborg´s vinegar and later by his brother in law, Helge Palmqrantz, an inventor and industrialist with machine factories in Stockholm. Both agricultural tools and weapons were made there. A machine gun, designed by Helge Palmqrantz to be part of the defense on Karlsborgs fortress, can be seen at the fortress museum.

At the back there is a patio with a barbecue under a roof with a morning sun. The property The living room has a double bed (2x80cm) as well as a bunk bed. Toilet with shower and washing machine. The kitchen is complete and equipped with dishwasher, fridge, freezer, microwave and hot air oven as well as coffee machine. Modern tv with cromecast and wireless wifi. Well-equipped and fresh cabin by a smaller lake. Large terrace with dining area. Kitchen with fridge, freezer, dishwasher, microwave oven, etc. Large living room with sofa. Bedroom, shower room, separate toilet, washing machine, electric heating. TV, WiFi, charging box. Rowboat access and free fishing. Close to many other lakes and nice swimming areas. Newly built apartment building with the absolute best location on the longest lake bath in the Nordic countries and one of Sweden's finest beaches. With promenades, cafes and restaurants, it's a place that has something for everyone. The shallow, clean water is sheltered in a bay perfect for surfing and kayaking. Slappna av i detta bekväma, unika och lugna boende mitt i skogen där ingen biltrafik råder. Här får ni närhet till bad och fiske i ett flertal sjöar. Vitsands och Djäknesundets vackra badplatser ligger 25 respektive 9 km från stugan. Flertalet naturreservat finns runt knuten. Tivedens nationalpark ligger endast 10 km bort. Tiveden bjuder också på vandrings-, rid- och kanotleder. Från Karlsborg kan man ta en tur med kanalbåten på Göta kanal eller besöka Karlsborgs fästning.

Undisturbed house by the beach with your own jetty & sauna

Welcome to Kärnebäcken. The house is located undisturbed on a cape in Bottensjön, with both morning and eveningssol. Here you can see the canal boats from Vättern on the way up in Göta Canal. Only 2 km bike path into Sweden's reserve capital Karlsborg, with Ida's pier and Karlsborg fortress that attracts. With the car, it takes about 20 minutes to Tiveden National Park with hiking trails and amazing nature. The house is 110 sqm and fully equipped. Great WiFi. An oasis!

Here are restaurants, glass kiosks, cafes, mini golf course, playground, etc. Just around the knot there are nice walking paths and it is only 200 meters to swimming lake. Inside the village there are all amenities such as grocery store, pharmacy, bank, etc. The house Very nice and cozy accommodation with large garden, patio and patio. very cozy house in Karlsborg, steps from both lakes. House was very comfortable and had everything I needed for a stay of several weeks. only lived on the top floor, so didn't experience the sleeping arrangements downstairs. overall a very comfortable house in a nice and quiet location. would recommend.
