Very pleasant stay Dean was very helpful the full English breakfast was great both days great base for exploring the lakes we would definitely stay there again only slight negative was the shower wasn’t very powerful and the bed was a bit uncomfortable but that wouldn’t stop us visiting again thanks

Lovely stay in a traditional Cumbrian farmhouse. Tranquil surroundings and a nice comfortable room. Hannah made us feel very welcome and served us a fantastic breakfast exactly when we needed it.

Me and a group of friends stayed here over Easter and it was the most incredible place. Anton and Penny were so helpful and lovely. The complimentary breakfast and food at the pub was so delicious and the yurt was so cosy, clean and well put together. Would definitely come back to this Airbnb. Penrith was a 15 minute drive away and the village was very picturesque. Would recommend this place to anyone wanting a relaxing stay with some very helpful hosts

Handy base with easy access to a proper coffee in the village and to the lakes. One thing thats great about this air BnB is the seasonal garden fresh goodies that may be picked if available for your breakfast selection. Along with Sarah's homemade Bread, jam and yogurt.

Stayed 4 days in Paul’s lovely cottage, just a short walk from Hawkshead village. The accommodations were as expected and Paul could not have been a more gracious host. He has a wealth of local knowledge and directed us on some beautiful walks. Breakfasts were fantastic! Would absolutely return in a heartbeat.

Great peaceful stay in beautiful location, opposite the marshes... a stunning sunset walk! Delicious breakfasts, Raphaela went out of her way to cater a tasty vegan breakfast. One of my favourite breakfasts in a long time! Thank you for a warm and friendly stay, would highly recommend :)

As soon as you walk in to this guest house you know it is run with love and real enthusiasms for the whole place. It is very homely, clean place, run by lovely owner. My room was very cozy and clean. Comfy bed and as a bonus little fridge in the room! I was visited in very hot weather and it was very welcome addition in the room. I think all accommodations should have little fridges in they room. Really handy. The guest house offer huge selection of fresh, home made cakes (the coconut and raspberry crumble is AMAZING!) also the home made jams, you can purchase and reception are lovely. Defo get at least one jar. Breakfast was lovely and exactly as I ask. Lovely, fresh, proper coffee set me off for the day in Lakes. Guest house is only few minutes drive from Hodbarrow Lighthouse. Do not miss it. Very lovely! I will be happy to visit anytime again. x

Sharon was a top notch hostess! - Number 1 highlight: Sharon’s incredible breakfasts and her useful recommendations. Brekkies were very filling with so many options - better than a 5* hotel! - The room was lovely and very well equipped with lots of thoughtful touches. - The ensuite bathroom was convenient and clean. The shower is an electric shower and therefore always had hot water. - The beds were very comfortable (even the foldout bed!) and the sheets were clean and smelled nice! The pillows were super comfortable. - The house is on a main road but we weren’t too disturbed by noise. It’s convenient access and a 15-20mn walk to the centre of town. Great beautiful hike straight from the house. Easy to park on the road. There are quite a few places to eat in town but don’t go too late! - Sharon was very responsive and lovely! I would definitely recommend and go back if I’m ever back up North!

Had a lovely stay at Fiona’s Air b and b. Stayed in a great big en-suite room. Had a comfy bed and good shower with everything we needed. House located in good location only a short walk into Kirby Lonsdale. Had a delicious breakfast provided by Fiona too. Fiona was friendly end very welcoming. Would highly recommend staying here.

Thanks for a wonderful and memorable visit to Cockermouth! The space was lovely and I appreciated how responsive and accommodating Amy was during the 5 night stay. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was amazing! Hope to return to Cockermouth again soon!

Absolutely amazing place to stay, with an old-school character. Very old building with brilliantly authentic interior, which keeps its own long history and secrets😉. It's a Lancashire hidden (or not so hiden) gem. Literally everything, from the Hosts welcoming attitude to the way the rooms and the entire house are presented, makes you feel yourself like in a hide away from modern cyber age back to victorian and even renaissance times. Thanks a lot for everything, Kevin and Maria! Hope to stay at The Homestead again this year.

Excellent stay, the room was clean and comfortable with everything you need to stay over. The breakfast was delicious, and tea/coffee facilities in the room were a great touch. Check in was easy, with Tobias being very responsive and helpful with our last minute booking. Hot tub was a great place to relax as it got dark, and the room was lovely and cosy in the evening. Would definitely stay again!

Great 1 night getaway above Heidi’s cafe. Great central location to start and end walks in the area. Good communication and instructions from Emma to get into the property. Car parking extra but plenty nearby (£10 for 24 hrs). Lovely quirky room with a balcony (rm 6). Really good breakfast with very helpful staff (Craig). Gluten free catered for, for my wife. The only addition which would make the room perfect would be a small fridge. Will be back at some point in the near future. Thank you.

A delightful stay with a fascinating couple. From a warm welcome, to a delicious home-cooked dinner and use of the lovely summerhouse, we had the perfect stay!

Clare is a great host and a very nice person! Provided me with everything that I needed for my stay and even more! Lovely place, felt at home. Lovely dogs very friendly. Good bed, bedroom with a lot of space, good bathroom and shower, lot of space on the wardrobe, a place to make a coffee and a mini fridge. Perfect place to be!!

Tony was a great host! We went to Kendal for a very casual getaway and the BnB was in an amazing location. Tony was really friendly, helpful and even had lovely breakfast items prepared for us. The bedroom was cosy and we felt right at home. thank you so much for having us!

My two friends and I had a wonderful stay at Sara’s. Sara gave us a special Isaac’s Tea Trail package providing dinner as well as bed and breakfast. The meals were all delicious, and very appreciated as we were on foot and unable to drive to nearby pubs. The house and location is beautiful and we were greeted with tea, warm crumpets and a log fire - perfect after a long wet walk. The room was very comfortable and spacious. Sara is a fantastic warm host and so interesting to talk to. I’d highly recommend staying - you won’t want to leave though.

I arrived earlier than check in just to advise that I was actually there and was not a no show due to me not returning till late that night. I was given my keys and had immediate access to the room and a quick drink in the bar before I went to do my thing . A lovely place to come home to with friendly locals in the bar while I was having a nightcap :-)

Our stay at Mark's place was short & cozy ! He helped us with tips during our late arrival and his team kindly greeted us in the evening. We had a nice and calm night stay in a interesting surrounding of a pristine old village pub ! Would recommend to walkers keen on accessing or finishing the Hadrian's wall path ! :)
