Cazaux is known for its lake (2nd largest freshwater lake in France), but also for its proximity to the Bassin d'Arcachon and the Dune du Pilat. The two-bedroom house, with an open-plan kitchen in the living and dining room, has a saltwater pool, summer kitchen, petanque court, and a shaded summer lounge at the back of the garden.

My accommodation, rated 2 stars by Gironde Tourism, is halfway between Acachon-Pilat and Cap Ferret. The bike path that surrounds the basin is 100 meters away. Shops are nearby and local markets are not lacking. The outbuilding has its garden, trees all in a quiet and peaceful area. It's a fisherman's hut, all wooden, reflecting the authenticity and spirit of the bay. The comfort is modern and perfect for spending pleasant moments.
