Holiday rentals with a kayak in Lake Couchiching

We rented Amanda's place for 2 nights in the winter and it surpassed our expectations! Amanda was a great communicator. The older cottage has been extensively renovated, it was clean, comfortable and cozy. We loved the wood stove and the heating system worked well. The kitchen is first-rate, and very well-equipped, it even had decent knives! We cook a lot and we very much enjoyed making meals there. We loved watching the ever-changing weather on the river from the picture window in the living room, and even saw a beautiful sunrise. The star of our stay was the sauna—we have a wood-burning sauna at home and at our cottage—and we were very impressed with its size, the modern design, the huge picture window and the style of stove. It got up to temperature even in -17 degree weather. We hiked and snowshoed in the Alexander Hope Smith Nature Reserve which was a walk from the cottage. The town of Washago was a 11 minute drive, with a great grocery store. Would definitely stay there again!

Our stay here was fantastic. The house is big with plenty of rooms for a big group. It was clean and orderly. There is a beautiful dock with a canoe, kayak and life jackets. Our host Fred was very kind and accommodating. I would recommend this to anyone looking a cottage getaway.

We went to this cottage for a beautiful romantic weekend getaway and we were happy we got that. The owner of the cottage Necker was very kind and helpful, absolutely loved the place and there was plenty of water activities to do. It was easy to check in, communicate and plenty of peaceful vibes. Recommended 100%, please go visit this cottage it is very well worth it. P.S: we loved the character of the cottage with little artpieces and wall art from all over the globe 🌎.

We stayed at Dylan’s place for the weekend with 13 adults and 4 kids. There was enough rooms and beds for all of us with adequate bedding and space. The house was clean and well equipped for our weekend! Before the stay we had lots of questions and Dylan was very responsive and answered everything in a timely manner and with lots of details. He was always following up during the weekend as well. The dock is beautiful and amazing! It was a bit buggy but that’s expected near the waters. We used the kayaks and boat and had a wonderful time!

Great place and great host..they were quick to respond to queries..and the big yard on the side was a big plus which other properties generally do not have..will be booking again next year..

Ash is a great host, the listing is exactly like the description and they are very friendly people. It feels like home and lot of water activities and sports/games to play. The home was spotless and everything was available in the kitchen. The only thing to be mindful about is that there is a rail track very close to the property which might be an issue if you are a light sleeper, our group didn't have much troubles and we had a great time at Ash's place. We look forward to spending more time at Lake sparrow.

We really enjoyed our stay at Dock Cottage. It was modern elegance mixed with warm vintage touches. It had everything we needed to make our stay really comfortable and we loved the dock, hot tub and kayaking on the lake. It was quiet and peaceful and felt far away from everything yet we were an easy walk from Miss Nelle’s coffee shop and ice cream stand where we went each morning for a coffee (opens at 7am), Muskoka Brewing Company for a beer and a few other Baysville shops. The communication and instructions were really helpful and we received prompt replies if we had a question so it felt like we were really taken care of. We will definitely be back and recommend it to friends.

We had a wonderful stay at the cottage! The space was exactly as described. Bryan was incredibly responsive, making check-in smooth and the stay hassle-free. The cottage is by the lake with perfect views from the patio. We especially appreciated the little touches like fresh towels, the wine bottle, and a well stocked kitchen. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting!

This cottage is perfection. Liane & James are just SO lovely. If you're reading this, don't look any further. Just book it. We couldn't have had a better week at Follie's Cove. The cottage was the perfect mix of modern and rustic. Clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully equipped. We felt at home instantly. The sunroom was the perfect chill spot for us and our two big dogs to get out of the sun/rain without feeling cooped up indoors. The beach was heaven for our dogs, and on a quiet end of the lake, so we saw few other people all week. The quintessential Muskoka experience! Liane and James were *beyond* wonderful. They set us up with a ton of breakfast food and desserts. Even offered to return the day after check-in to drop off more coffee. It truly felt like renting from friends. Highly recommend renting the pontoon boat from them and puttering around the lake. Wish I had more space to gush about the space and their incredible hospitality. We would book again in a heartbeat!

The place was beautiful, looking out onto a lake with clean swimmable water. And there was a beach only 5 minutes away. Everything inside the house was clean and well-stocked. Richard was also very responsive with any inquiries. Overall, a great place, very well worth it!

Katie and Derek's property is stunning and relaxing, and their responsiveness was also fantastic. The property is even nicer than the pictures show, and there is a great attention to detail with their decor and amenities (such as readily available bug spray). The location is great and has lots of privacy. It felt like an incredibly recharging experience! What really was above and beyond was their communication. There was a slight issue with the fridge, but every step of the way, Derek and Katie were very positive and accommodating. They responded to our messages promptly and helped us find a solution so that we could enjoy our stay regardless. With their accommodations and attentiveness, it was as if the issue had never existed in the first place. Thank you to Katie and Derek for an incredible stay, and we hope to rebook with you in the future!

Amazing host, great location not to far from the city . Everything you need, literally bring your cloths and toothbrush and you’re good to go. Would highly recommend. Great for family’s or small groups of friends.

My friends and I had a truly fabulous cottage experience here! The washrooms were clean and tidy, which made our stay extra comfortable. We also appreciated the entertainment options available. Even though the weather was a bit cool and the dock slightly tricky to manage, we had an amazing time using the kayaks for the first time! The host provided life jackets, which made our water adventures both safe and memorable. Another highlight was the sauna — such a relaxing and refreshing treat after a day of outdoor activities. It was our first time trying a sauna, and it was easy to use. We loved it! One more thing worth mentioning — one of my friends accidentally left her phone behind. The host and cleaning team acted quickly and efficiently, and the phone was returned the next day! Overall, we would absolutely choose this cottage again. The great location, cleanliness, well-prepared facilities, and the kind and thoughtful host made this a wonderful getaway. Highly recommended!

We had an absolutely beautiful getaway at this waterfront Gem! The location was stunning, with some of the most breathtaking sunsets we've ever seen. Everything was clean, simple, and perfectly maintained, making our stay incredibly comfortable. Our kids felt right at home from the moment we arrived, and enjoyed all the water activities! We truly appreciate Victoria's quick response and can't wait to return!

We had a great time here celebrating my son's 6th birthday and Father's Day. Not many places can boast a great little private beach plus a dock, and the fishing off the beach was great. We also saw lots of turtles, including some babies, which were adorable. The beds are super comfortable, as is the living room. We loved having use of the paddle boat to see more of the natural beauty of the lake. Great spot!

Great rustic place to unwind and enjoy the outdoors. Reminded me of my childhood family cottage. It was private and had everything one needs in a semi offgrid location. Bill was prompt, accommodating and friendly. Bring more firewood than you'll think you'll need! Thanks again, Bill!

We stayed for 4 nights at this cottage in late September, just as the autumn leaves were setting in. It was rainy at night but we enjoyed cozy nights watching The Hobbit or playing board games by the roaring fireplace. During the days, we did multiple hikes around Hardy Lake, went to Bala (a very quaint town-we made jokes about being in a cheesy Hallmark movie), toured the cranberry bogs and trails with hot wine drinks and just enjoyed time at the cottage. There is something for everyone whether you’re a cook, book-lover or outdoors enthusiast. We brought our two dogs who loved hiking the trails, watching chipmunks, swimming near the shore , and lounging on the dock. They even got into the canoe. There was a friendly senior dog who wandered down to say hi a couple times. The highlight of it all- we got engaged there! :) :) :) Sarah and Chris, you must be so proud of this enchanting cottage where so many special life moments were created.

Our Misty River Cabin stay was absolutely dreamy. We stayed for a weekend with our dog and left feeling relaxed and refreshed after a beautiful time in nature. The cabin is extremely cozy and has all the cottage feel while still being very luxurious. Every aspect of the cabin from the comfy beds to fully equipped kitchen (and so much more) made it feel very bespoke and special. It rained almost the entire time, but we still enjoyed every moment as we could snuggle in the Muskoka room (with outdoor fire) and watch rain fall on the river as the birds sang, or enjoy movies on the cozy couch next to the fire. Our dog got to enjoy plenty of play on the little beach and shallow water too. It was wonderful to have a vacation the entire family could enjoy. We hope to come back soon!

We had a fantastic weekend stay at this cozy cabin! The location is unbeatable — just a short walk to a beautiful private beach. The cabin was clean, well-maintained, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The host was communicative and made the whole process easy and stress-free. We loved how quiet and relaxing the area was — a perfect getaway from the city. We’d absolutely come back and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful escape near the water.
