The cottage is the oldest house in the village, it guarded the entrance to the Abbey of the Benedictines of Etrun. The Abbey was founded in 980 and destroyed during the revolution in 1789. The whole has been listed as a Historic Monument. In 1815 Cardinal De La TOUR d'AUVERGNE decided to build his "Summer Residence" of which the surrounding walls still exist, as well as some period elements. In 1915, General Pétain made it his headquarters and commanded the Battle of Artois from these places.

Free parking at Place du Barlet, 2 minutes' walk away, or on the street (charges apply from 9 am to 7 pm). Shops, restaurants in the immediate vicinity, train station within 10 minutes' walk.

You will find hiking trails within walking distance (Bonnettes, promenade de long de la Scarpe...) The train station is a few minutes' walk away and Arras is 20 minutes' drive away.

We welcome you to our 2 accommodations in a quiet area surrounded by greenery , but very close to big cities , Lille 20 minutes , Lens 25 minutes, Arras 30 minutes . The building is independent of our house. In your accommodation, on the ground floor are the living room, the toilet and the kitchen, and upstairs is the bedroom with the bathroom. We are 3 km from the Phalempin Forest. For work, the highway is 7 mins away . I look forward to welcoming you😁.
