Guests can also enjoy breakfast or an evening meal in the private outside courtyard. Plaistow is a quintessential Sussex village, full of character and charm and off the beaten track yet. Breakfast, dinner snd barbecue options are available but not included in the nightly rate.

This is a very cosy self contained annex, consisting of a double bedroom with ensuite. There is a kettle, mini fridge, toaster and microwave, but no other cooking facilities. Fresh croissants and home made jam included and brought to your door in the mornings on some days of the week. Do enquire. NB: There may be some disturbance from building work in the adjoining annex, but this is very intermittent and much of the time there is no noise at all. You may, though, be unlucky!

Skylark is ideal for visiting one of the many attractions near by (including Charleston House, Rathfinny Wine Estate, Firle Place and the medieval village of Alfriston), a stopover on the South Downs Way, a weekend of walking or just some time out to relax.

The house enjoys glorious views surrounded by open countryside and has a happy atmosphere. It looks onto fields, a lake and beyond these the north downs. There is easy and convenient parking, with many interesting places a short drive away: Hever Castle, Penshurst Place, Chartwell and Groombridge Place plus Lingfield Racecourse. The train service to London is under an hour to Victoria or London Bridge from Edenbridge or Lingfield train stations.

A stone’s throw from Hever or Chiddingstone Castle, short drive to Chartwell or Penshurst. Book supper at The Wheatsheaf, Bough Beech, 3 min walk, or use the compact kitchen and settle in for a night of cards or puzzles under the stars. Teas, ground coffee and milk supplied. Order breakfast hampers, Cornish pasties, BBQ coals.

Gigi Sleeps

Beautifully appointed Shepherds Hut in West Sussex, very close to Surrey border. It is situated near the main house but in a completely private area. Overlooks a large open field (usually with cows) and woods beyond that. To the right is a donkey paddock with residents Henry & Charlie. If you're looking for a relaxing, private space; then this is a great option for you. There are also lots of picturesque villages and pubs a short drive away.
