Timberwood Tiny Home is a place to rest your head & heart in Efland, North Carolina. The peaceful retreat is down a country road approximately 10-minutes from downtown Hillsborough. The 200 square foot tiny home is on a private corner of 8-acres shared with our main house. It features Scandinavian-style details, two beds, a spacious porch, abundant natural light, a wood-fired hot tub, barrel sauna, cold plunge, and more. There are features of the home that may make it unsuitable for children.

This story could have started in the 40's, but we'll start in the 60's when this tiny cabin was local housing to graduate students at Duke. A guest suite that's a former artist studio with 10-15 foot high windows and 20 foot high ceiling, converted into one bedroom loft with private entrance, bath, living area, and kitchenette. The space is attached to the rest of my house, but you'll have a private entrance, your own bathroom, living area and kitchenette and two seat dining table. You will not have access to a full kitchen. New in September 2025: Blackout curtains provide privacy at night and a darker room for sleeping in.
