Enjoyed my stay very much. I was here just for one evening but if I come back I’d definitely consider staying here for longer. It was a bit cold during the night (6 degrees outside) and the heating took a while but with some warm pyjama’s you’ll be completely fine!

I had a comfortable overnight stay in Tekapo. It’s a charming little town, and the property was just a short walk from the lake and local market. Even though the kitchen and toilets are shared, everything was clean and accessible, and I had no issues at all.

Haka House - King Room Ensuite Lake View 2

This is a room at a hostel. it’s a private room with access to very good common areas. The room was small but had mini fridge, electric kettle and private bathroom and amazing view. The common area has a view of the entire lake. Kitchen had everything you need to cook meals- pots pans, crockpot, toaster, ovens, dishes, storage in the fridge, freezer and lockers. Walkable to pathz, store and restaurants. Would definitely stay again.

Great location, right in the middle of village centre. Within walking distance to the lake, groceries, and restaurants. The room was spacious for us 4, lots of room for luggage, and comortable beds, too. The shared kitchen also had plenty of available space for cooking.

Slightly expensive, the room is small, but the location and view are excellent, right next to the lake and supermarket, which is very convenient.A variety of kitchen utensils were provided to cook their own meals, which was the most satisfying place for me!The heater in the house doesn't know why it stops automatically after a while, so I can only press it again.The lights where to cook are also made, and they are turned off from time to time.😂

Must stay if visiting Lake Tekapo! Renting the whole room (8 beds) was perfect for our family trip. Very clean common lounge and kitchen areas. Cannot beat the views of the lake from the property and trails nearby. Highly recommend!
