We stayed at Sandra's for four nights and had nothing short of a lovely experience. The house itself feels so homey and is nestled within a local community, and we felt right at home. It's not on a paved road so keep that in consideration if that's important to you but we had no trouble at all walking out to the main road or calling a tuktuk over. The house is spacious, clean and clutter free and has a beautiful yard as well. The WiFi and Netflix access were a big plus after a tiring day of exploration and the kitchen was well-equipped (even though we didn't end up using it much except for the refrigerator). Sandra was there herself in the second house on the property when we visited and was always around to answer our questions, respond to any requests we had, as well as provide local recommendations - she told us about a cliff hike connecting various beaches, which we thoroughly enjoyed. Can't recommend enough!

I had an amazing stay in Watamu! The space was incredibly spacious, clean, and beautifully maintained. I absolutely loved everything about it—from the cozy interior to the spacious rooms. It's also perfectly located, just a short walk from the beach, which made the experience even more special. A truly lovely place that I would highly recommend to anyone visiting the area. I’d definitely come back.

This place is an absolute gem. My girlfriend and I had to extend our stay and needed a quite place to work remotely. This was it! Very peaceful, great internet and very temperate (never got too hot). Philippe, the host, was super responsive and very accomodating to our needs. Also the kitchen was superb, for any foody looking for a well equipped kitchen, this is the place. As for the location, it is very central, a 5 minute walk to both beaches, a new cafe just opened up on the corner for those looking for fresh croissants in the morning and there is a great gym about 1 minutes walk from the apartment. Loved it... and we will be back :)

It was definitely a great deal! The host and their assistant was perfect! We had a great stay. The grounds were awesome. They even let us check in early and check out late for just a small fee. It was very helpful being that we had to check out of an Airbnb quite close to there and there would’ve been a large gap where we would’ve had to sit someplace with our luggage. And then we have a flight late in the evening on the day we checked out once again we would’ve had to deal with our luggage all day long somewhere. We cooked in the kitchen, ordered food delivered, tuk tuk drivers were easy to get to come out there. And we were very close to town! The grounds were impeccably kept with great security. I definitely stay here again.

Gianluca House was just as listed, awesome service and a nice place to enjoy a vacation, would definitely recommend!

WOW!! What a fabulous trip had by all!! 8 adults and 1 baby stayed for 10 nights at Shuma house. We had an incredible trip. Shuma is breathtakingly beautiful and peaceful, you really feel at one with nature here!. Shuma house itself is stunning, plenty of space for everyone, all the rooms are quirky, spacious and full of personality. The staff were all very welcoming and accommodating, and all work incredibly hard to ensure we are well fed and looked after. Martin, Shumas chef cooked us the most delicious meals night after night! Lots of choice and flexibility with meal choices/timings/allergies etc. Robert was amazing and tended to our every need, especially our daughter Elkies needs! Thank you all so much for making our trip to Shuma House absolutely fabulous! It was an emotional goodbye, but it certainly wont be the last!! We will be back!! Thank you! 🤩

The villa was clean and well taken care of. Me and my brother loved our stay in watamu and our stay in the villa. The villa was simple and beautiful and was a great place to spend some quality time in and enjoy a good nights sleep.

This is our 5th visit to The Beach House. We keep coming back for a bunch of reasons. Rehema, Ali and the rest of the staff are the best. The location right on the water with perfect views is unbeatable. Communication with Rory is consistently great. The top porch is some of my favorite square footage on the planet. And … have I mentioned how terrific Rehema is?

This is a wonderful home and we had a fabulous time. We came as 2 families of 4 (from London) + grandparents (from Nairobi) - so 10 of us in total. The house is beautiful - very charming and comfortable - and spills out onto the beach (via a private gated entrance). The kids loved playing in the small private pool and having daily walks out onto the reef in low-tide. The stretch of coastline the house is on is idyllic - about 20 min drive from Watamu town. The chef and staff are very attentive. We're all vegetarian and they handled that pretty well (though naturally they're more accustomed to a meat/seafood menu). As a family/group holiday venue, this is highly recommended.

This is a great little spot close to a beach, nice views and good breeze, and also very accessible to all parts of Watamu. I especially loved the unit itself and the swimming pool - perfect craftsmanship. There are good restaurants in walking distance too as well as the shops at peponi plaza. Special shoutout to Antonio who was very responsive and accommodating through our stay. I would happily return.

Rita was an absolutely wonderful host. She allowed us to check in earlier since we were travelling from far. In fact , she was awake when we arrived early in the morning to usher us in. The house was clean, spacious and super beautiful. The surrounding were green and well maintained. The staff at the house were really helpful and the place felt very secure. We enjoyed our stay at this house. We enjoyed the food that was prepared for us by the host and the chill and relaxing atmosphere created for the guest. I would highly recommend this place and I will be back again soon. Thank you for making our stay in Watamu memorable.

Absolutely fabulous place. I would highly recommend it. Rachel had clear instructions and was always available to help. The place was clean and has everything you need. There is so much to do in the area, Malindi is a lovely place to visit. Musa was very helpful and showed us around making sure we got everything we needed. Thank you for having us.

Overall, this place is lovely. Very modern, clean and quiet, despite being in the center of the town. We stayed during a long weekend and enjoy this nice, little green oasis. However, few things to improve/keep in mind: - the wifi was VERY unreliable and the connection was dropping off constantly. Not a big deal per se, but might be frustrating if internet is needed for work calls, etc. - there’s no tea of coffee available in the apartment. Would be good to have some basics like this ready for the guests. - the mattres was way too hard for us, and the pillows were too small to enjoy a good night’s sleep.

Really great location (mere steps from the beach). Only thing I would add is what previous reviewers have noted - it would be nice to have a water dispenser and some small amenities in the kitchen. Otherwise would absolutely stay here again.
