Wonderful place - totally recommend staying there - and would definitely return

The most beautiful view of Taupo lake from the front room windows. A gorgeous family room to relax in surrounded by the garden and trees. Kitchen was stocked with every utensil/all the equipment you could possibly need. Pellet burning fire and electric blankets were a treat. As was the trove of children’s toys and books Irene has kindly left for guests. Acacia Bay is 15 mins’ drive from Taupo/the main esplanade. We had a great time and wish we could’ve stayed longer.

The main house was very comfortable, and the guest house was a perfect retreat for our 14-year-old son—he absolutely loved having his own space. One of the highlights of our stay was the sunroom - stunning views and a peaceful place to unwind.

One of the best Airbnb’s we have stayed in. The photos don’t do it justice. Spacious, warm and very clean home. The views are spectacular. It’s close enough to the town, with the bonus of being private. Would highly recommend. We will be back.

We needed a last minute accommodation and Margaret responded so fast and had the place ready for us to arrive. The place was amazing and our workers enjoyed there short stay.

The Starling Box is definitely the best Airbnb we have ever stayed in! Janina is an exceptional host - she gave us a lovely, warm welcome and showed us all around her beautiful, modern home. The home itself is clean, well appointed and has all the comforts of home. We appreciated the extra touches that are evident throughout the house that make everything cozy and comfy - from warm blankets to a well kitchen stocked with delicious breakfast items, coffee, tea and snacks. The space is peaceful and inviting, and you can feel the love that went into every detail of this fantastic Airbnb. We were greeted by Steve. From there we had privacy and magnificent quiet-just what we needed. Very clean. Comfy bed. Great shower. Toasty warm place. Nice treats. The gorgeous sun in the morning was a bonus. Recommend.

The place was lovely, well appointed, nice & cosy in winter. Lovely hosts who were very responsive and let us know about the Matariki drone show. Highly recommend.

An excellent location and extremely helpful host. The space is spotlessly clean and solid value. The cats were adorable and gave the place character. Way better than booking a motel room ...it felt safe and cosy. Highly recommended and we will book again.

6 family members had a wonderful stay. Loved the large living space with plenty of room for all ages and comfortable and stylish furniture. Wifi was good for all of us with devices, beds comfortable, shower had good pressure and it was good there was a 2nd toilet in the laundry with a full house. Friendly helpful host we really enjoyed our stay thank you for hosting us

I really recommend staying at Barb's place, it's got everything you would need for a short or longer stay. There's lots to do in the area and Barb gave some great recommendations and helpful information. As a host Barb is the best I've ever had, fast response time, friendly and very helpful, she really goes above and beyond!

Sussan was a fantastic host, welcoming and friendly. Her home was clean and tidy. Comfortable bed and yummy breakfast. I had everything I needed and more. I was walking distance from the conference and places to eat. Great if you're tired from a big day! We had lovely chats and I left with a gift feijoa's, which made my day. Thank you for a wonderful and easy stay, with a 'home away from home' feeling.

Absolutely amazing place. Literally felt like I was at my nanas house (just more modern). Everything you could need in an Airbnb , super close to town and Loyld is so helpful! ☺️
