Lisette was an ANGEL. She was very responsive and very welcoming. The cottage is beautiful— looks JUST like the pictures. Lots of outdoor space and overall very calm, peaceful, and quiet.

Jane’s home is beautiful, quiet, and so relaxing. The area itself is wonderful and quaint and the home has everything you need and more. We sat out each morning on the front deck for coffee and each evening for a glass of wine, and ate dinner on the screened-in porch. Despite the temperatures reaching 90 degrees outside, the home remained very comfortable even without A/C. There were plenty of fans and the evenings were pleasantly cool. Jane is very friendly and helpful—stopped by on our first day to give us some wonderful local recommendations (our kids loved visiting a nearby apple orchard / restaurant). Honestly, you can’t ask for a better host. We already miss the place and would definitely return!

My husband and I stayed in the Barnette on our first family with our baby. It was the perfect peaceful getaway, where we could slow down, relax, and enjoy nature. We loved relaxing by the cozy wood stove in the evenings and sipping coffee on the deck in the mornings. The Barnette is so uniquely decorated with Allyson and Scott's original artwork and various natural curiosities - we loved admiring all the art and decor! The location is excellent, close to many great hiking trails, and when it was raining, we could drive over to the bigger town of Kingston for some indoor activities. We thought we would stop by their botanical garden briefly and then walk the 3-mile loop, but the garden was so extensive and so beautiful that we ended up spending a couple of hours there. It was so nice to chat with Allyson, her mother, and Scott and to learn more about the garden and the many unique plants in it. We'd love to come back, especially in mid-summer when more things are in bloom!

This was our second stay here. Once again it felt like a home away from home. We were looking for quiet peacefulness. I loved being able to have coffee on the porch, breakfast at the table and wine at the firepit. For a small, cozy place there were several places to sit and relax. The house is tucked away but also convenient to get to places to visit. Mack has a binder that lists places to visit or to eat. That's very helpful. We will definitely return! Carol
