Boat holiday rentals in Markermeer

We loved our stay here. It was central to everything we wanted to see and do, incredibly walkable, lively and comfortable. The space was exactly as it appeared in the photos, and it was a very unique way to experience Amsterdam and everything it has to offer! If we are back in the city we will certainly be booking again!

We thoroughly enjoyed a long weekend aboard Johan's houseboat, in a great location in the Jordaan! It was an experience simply not available in a hotel or B&B. We drank morning coffee and late afternoon cocktails on the deck whle soaking up the few remaining days of late summer sun. It was ideally located close to neighborhood restaurants, shops, and even weekend organic food and flea market, and a short walk to tourist attractions in the old city center. If not up for a longer walk along the canal to the museum quarter and beyond, a public transportation options were always available nearby. Communication prior to arrival and during our stay was proactive and prompt. The inside of the houseboat was even more spacious than we anticipated, and the beds were comfortable. We'll definitely opt for a stay here during our next visit to Amsterdam!

Très bon séjour sur ce superbe bateau, nous y avons passés 4 jours à 13 amis. Bateau très propre, super accueil, super bien placé (ferry gratuit pour aller dans le centre) tout en étant au calme. Supermarché à 5 min. Grand salon et cuisine bien équipée. Merci à Grietje et son mari pour leur accueil et recommandations sur les informations pratiques. 😀👍

Der Aufenthalt auf dem Boot war wirklich top! Marcel war ein sehr kommunikativer Gastgeber und war jederzeit schnell zu erreichen. Die Lage ist ein bisschen abseits des Zentrums von Amsterdam aber mit der Tram oder per Uber gelangt man schnell dorthin. Die Ausstattung lies keine Wünsche offen und daher geht hier eine klare Empfehlung raus!

The house boat was just as it looked in the pictures! It was very spacious and comfortable for our family of 4. It was perfect how the kids sort of had their side, or wing, and my husband and I had our space in the master bedroom, on the other side. We all slept very well! We loved the cats, Skip & Bo. We are animal people, so it was fun having them come and go, and socialize and snuggle with us! The views were amazing and there were plenty of spots to just chill when we weren't out exploring. The house boat was very walkable to many fun spots and different areas. We definitely felt like we were staying in someone's home versus a rental. Enjoyed all of the personal touches in the kitchen as well! We would go back in a heartbeat and recommend Joost's place without hesitation!

Sandra est un capitaine de bateau de grande qualité, pédagogue, soucieuse de faire partager sa passion pour la voile, mobilisatrice des énergies des passagers. Ses conseils pour choisir le circuit et les étapes au port sont judicieux et nous nous sommes félicité de les avoir suivis. Ce bateau historique (il a plus de 100 ans), en parfait état est idéal pour faire ses premières armes de marin. Toute la famille était ravie de participer aux manoeuvres. Bref, que du positif. Heerlijk verblijf met mijn zoontje op De Steert! Goed eten ook in het restaurant van Marianne. De boot is prachtig en knus en van alle gemakken voorzien.

C'était incroyable !!! Quelle expérience et même si le temps n'était pas de la partie, nous avons adoré ce moment de joie et détente en famille. Je recommande vivement cette expérience unique.

Wij hebben met z’n 4tjes geslapen op de boot. Het weer zat niet mee. Waardoor we veel in de boot hebben gezeten. Het was gezellig en knus. Een leuke ervaring en een leuke plek!

Can highly recommend staying here. So nice to return to after a busy day sightseeing in Amsterdam. Near bus stop, 10 mins walk away, takes you straight to Amsterdam Central station. Get off at bus stop before station if you do not need metro, we walked everywhere. We used credit card each for bus, swipe on and then swipe as you get off, about 7 euro return. The Johanna is just a joy to be on, comfortable and clean with stunning views. Everything that you need and more is supplied. Sandra and her partner are a joy to deal with, checking in with us to ensure all was ok.

Fijne host mooie ruimte. Slaapkamertjes zijn natuurlijk wel klein. Bedden zijn goed. Geen vaatwasmachine. Vonden wij niet erg maar goed om te weten. Prachtige ligplaats.

Arjan reageert snel en is aardig. De boot is heerlijk vertoeven. Ik heb heerlijk geslapen. Ik heb hem feedback gegeven ergens op en dat nam hij serieus. Hele fijne plek en zou zomaar kunnen dat ik nog eens terugkom.

We had a wonderful time on Paul's boat. Paul was a great host who communicated early and was always available to answer questions. He also met us on our arrival and gave us a tour of the boat. Everything is lovingly designed, and we loved the special atmosphere and the unique charm of the old sailboat. Basic amenities for everyday life (towels, pans, kitchen seasonings, toilet paper) are provided. Of course, many things are functionally furnished, in keeping with the space—that's just how it is on a boat. I'm 1.86m tall and didn't have any major issues with space other than the upper level being slightly* shorter than me. There's several heaters and a heated blanket for cold days. There's even a bathroom on the boat which was perfectly functional. Since you can't flush paper, we made use of the bathroom facilities in the harbor for some things which was also convenient. We would definitely recommend Paul's boat for anyone looking for something out of the ordinary!

We enjoyed our stay on the boat immensely! Valentine provided us with a little extra electric boat just to get around. The main boat was moored at a little island which had plenty of space and allowed us to setup extra tents. We stayed with 5 kids and 6 adults. Everything worked out great!

Great Host and great Stay. Easy Kommunikation. We did go sailing with a skipper the host kindly arranged for us, wich was a great experience.

This is by far the best Airbnb I have ever booked or stayed at. Gerben and Albert were excellent hosts and were so kind and friendly! The houseboat looked even more extravagant than in the photos which I didn’t think was possible! I would 100% book again and cannot wait to be back in Amsterdam to stay here. Also the location was perfect, within the heart of Amsterdam with so many shops, restaurants, and bars nearby.

Close to tram and metros, great place to base yourself to see the city. I was attending something at the Ahoy convention Centre and it was really easy to get there and back. Host was extremely friendly and loved the quirky nature of sleeping on a boat

Vielen Dank für den angenehmen Aufenthalt auf Deinem Schiff. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und kommen gerne wieder. Besonders schön ist auch die Lage des Schiffes. In der näheren Ungebung gibt es viele Ausflugsmöglichkeiten in schöne Naturschutzgeiete, und die man gut mit Bootstouren erkunden kann.

We spent a wonderful time in Amsterdam, staying at Annelieke and Eli's boat. The location is beautiful, peaceful and soothing, and yet the center town is easily accessible through public transport or by bike (which are included in the rental). There's a local supermarket and a bus stop nearby (5-10 minutes walk). The boat in itself offers everything one might need to spend a nice few days in Amsterdam, and the bed is particularly comfortable. Furthermore, Annelieke was extremely reactive and friendly. All in all, a perfect stay!

The boat Amalia is unique and well placed for both transport and exploring the wonderful city of Amsterdam. We really enjoyed our unforgettable stay.

Geweldig verblijf gehad! Het schip is van alle gemakken voorzien. Ondanks dat de bedden er krap uitzien, heeft iedereen heerlijk geslapen en was het erg knus. Volgende keer hebben we hopelijk beter weer, dan kunnen we meer van het dek genieten. Dankjewel Xandra en Marco!

Alles bestens! Die Unterkunft ist einfach nur toll, wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt, Alles sehr gut ausgestattet. Lage superzentral im historischen Hafen neben dem Schiffahrtsmuseum mit Wassertaxistand direkt nebenan. Moniek hat uns auch zum Parken ein Parkhaus direkt um die Ecke empfohlen. Abwicklung sehr nett und unkompliziert. Wir können diese Unterkunft nur bestens weiterempfehlen.
