Great place to stay in Fredericksburg with a great location near downtown.

Overall a very positive experience. Kelly’s home was perfect for a one week stay for just one person and both Kelly and her husband were very kind. One of the big reasons I picked this location was for the cozy backyard space, and I think it lived up to my expectations. That said, a couple things to note would be that there is no designated parking spot. I was given a parking pass for street parking and some days I had to park a couple of houses down. This also isn’t a “central” downtown Fredericksburg location. There are still cute restaurants, but for most you’d have to walk a mile plus to get there. You also have to walk and cross at least one busy intersection to get to the Rappahannock Trail that is a main attraction for the area. That said, there IS free parking in downtown Fredericksburg and I don’t mind a little sunshine so that didn’t bother me, but I know it might be a deal breaker for others.

I stayed with Marie when I attended my college reunion, and what a perfect place! My room was well appointed: awesome snacks, which is a big plus in my book; comfy extra blankets, a TV and a desk. It's set off to the side so that it feels very private and tucked-away. The bathroom is spotless with a beautiful vintage vanity, and the living area and kitchen are airy and comfy. Her place is only a few minutes walk to the Fredericksburg canal path, and I also walked to downtown Fredericksburg and the University of Mary Washington. Marie is a wonderful host who is kind, friendly, and responsive.

It was the perfect stop in our holiday travels. Especially loved the yard for our dog to run around in. Overall very satisfied and highly recommend staying here. Would definitely come again!
