Cottage holiday rentals in Matlacha

We had an amazing week at Mona’s Enchanted Cottage! Enchanted we were! Mona is so friendly and communicative, offering tons of great local recommendations. The cottage is cozy, clean, private, and had everything we needed. We loved kayaking—fed turtles, saw manatees swim by, birds, and even an owl! A few small gators kept their distance but not curious enough to bother. Fishing from the dock was fantastic—I caught 25+ fish across 5 different species. There’s definitely more than you can count though. The bait shop with the funny name further down the road had the best bait and tips. The hot tub spa is the super nice kind. We grilled dinner most nights and had no issues with the internet to stream shows when it rained. The town is small and cute. You can definitely find a place to listen to live music every night. Our dog adored the doggy beach, and Barefoot Beach was super close with easy parking at 10 AM. We didn’t want to leave, 10/10—already planning to come back!

Wow! We loved this house. Great outdoor seating, loved watching the boats come and go. Pool and hot tub were fantastic. Great flat grill for dinners at home. Good restaurant options in the area. Cape Coral is close to so much, but away from traffic. Loads of windows and natural light. Very clean. Highly recommend.

We spent a great two months in this newly renovated home. It has everything you need from kitchen utensils, towels, bedding, comfortable furniture, washer/dryer, and large screen smart tv. It is very close to the beaches of Ft. Myers and Sanibel. Perfect for a relaxing SW Florida vacation!

The place was very clean, and everything that required was provided. It was in a park setting, which suited us just fine.

We had two families and we both enjoyed our stay! The house was very accommodating for both our families with kids. We all enjoyed the salt water pool and patio. The information binder provided gave clear instructions for our stay and provided many recommendations for restaurants and activities to do. Stu and Cathy were very helpful and even personally check on us during our stay!

RedAwning was the perfect accommodation for our 3-day fishing trip. We docked the boat directly behind the house, which was equipped with a fish-cleaning station and comfortable outdoor patio. The hosts were friendly and responsive, even offering to replace the coffee maker we were having some trouble with. The house was clean and comfortable, and the kitchen well-equipped (including complimentary wine and water bottles!). It would have been nice to have a second bathroom, but otherwise it was perfect!

Ernest was great! He was super responsive when we were trying to get the heat to work and was very proactive. He had renovated the place nicely after the area had experienced hurricane damage. The town is still in recovery but the neighbors were friendly when we were walking around. I will note that the current pictures (as of Jan 2025) are not up to date due to the renovations post hurricanes but all of the appliances/repairs are new and clean. and should not pose an issue on booking/staying at this house (i.e. the tiles in the bathroom are now white). We would stay here again!!

This place was a hidden gem! We lucked into it being available last-minute for a three-night stay and couldn’t have been any happier with it. The place was clean, welcoming, and nicely decorated. The kitchen had new appliances, and enough cooking equipment to easily make multiple meals a day. Bathroom was spacious and clean, with a really nice shower. The lot is remarkably quiet and private given its proximity to several main highways. Plenty of restaurants, bars, stores, and more nearby. There’s even a park a just a few-minute walk from the property.

Our stay at Shore Bird was great! The only negatives we expierenced during our stay really are a result of the recovery efforts from hurricane Ian. We were informed that on going construction on the property was a possibility, but the roofers waking us up at 7:30 Saturday morning was an unwelcome suprise. The renovated guest house on the property is beautifully done. However, this really is perfect for 2 people. We had 4 guests and were tight. It really can't sleep 5. The pool and pool deck was perfect and felt great during our hot week. The beach itself is in great shape and the water quality is better then ever! It was a nice touch to have access to T'ween Waters amenities. All in all it was a great stay and we would definetly book again!

This was our first time staying in a rental. The experience was amazing and easy. I will definitely stay in this home during our next visit to the Island.

We will definitely be back. Loved that we could walk to the beach and to all the great bar n restaurants near by. Appreciated the cart with the beach chairs, umbrellas, onsite laundry, and the grill. The place is so cute and held our family comfortably. Thank you again Lisa!!!

Such a beautiful place to stay at. So clean! Fort Myers beach is our favorite place to visit in Florida, so we will be back!! We loved that all the beach items were there and in great condition. I have stayed at a hand full of Airbnb’s throughout the year, and I have to say this was the best stock up one. So many bath towel ( all so clean you could smell the fabric softener on them), paper towel, toilet paper, cleaning supplies, and cooking essentials. Thank you for being outstanding host Deborah and Patrick. We will be back!

Holly's home is wonderful. It's clean and well-kept. Siesta is a quiet, comfortable park in a great location. Only minutes to restaurants, stores and the beach. Holly is very attentive and will respond to any communication quickly.

This is a beautiful home. Well appointed and well maintained. Everything was spotless. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!! The host thought of almost everything. Kayaks, bicycles, pool towels, etc. My only recommendations for improvement would be facial tissues and fans for sleeping. That’s it! That’s all I could think of.

Friendly owners, private location and a clean place to stay. All you could really ask for. If ever in Fort Meyers again, I would certainly look to come here first.

Could not say enough about the cottage I stayed in at the Malu Lani was the perfect fishing getaway. The dock space and private boat ramp for my small boat was perfect. Dockage had electrical hook up, fresh water wash down, and fish cleaning station was perfect. The cottage is perfect for two people very comfortable and quiet. Will definitely return Thank you David and Sharon you have a wonderful place.
