Cottage holiday rentals in Mendip District

Debbie’s place is a little piece of paradise, the setting is stunning, the gardens are fantastic and the cottage is warm and cosy whilst also being spacious and really well laid out. We had everything we needed and immediately felt at home. The open plan kitchen into the cosy living room left us all feeling connected, utility space was really useful, conservatory with stunning views allowed us to dine together and relax during the day. Outside area is also stunning for meals on the patio and bbq’s and the hot tub was great to relax in on an evening looking at the stars in peace and tranquility.. there’s a slight walk up to the property across a field but once you’re in the cottage and its gardens it’s worth every step. Great for the dogs too. Loads to do in the area, our highlight was Lyme Regis beach.. many thanks to Debbie and everyone who made us feel so welcome. We would go back to Debbie’s place in a heartbeat!

Lovely and peacefu,l we loved our break as did our 2 dogs Archie and Reggie, very safe and secure garden loved the hot tub. Recommend a visit to Dunster lovely place with great castle and grounds.

We had such a lovely stay at the Potting Shed. The location was beautiful- so peaceful and picturesque. The Airbnb was cosy and the bed was extremely comfy. We were there in 30 degree heat but it was lovely and cool inside. Would highly recommend and would love to come back one day and stay again!

We enjoyed our Short (2-Night) stay a lot. Poppy responded Short Term on Any queries we had. Hot tub outside and stove in the living&dining room were exceptional Features you rarely find at places in this Price categorie. Water quality and temperature in the Hot tub were Perfect. Like other guests commented prior, the Noise of the Main Road isnt really a downside, at least not later in the evening. Though it is noisy inside if you Open any window to the road side and entering and exiting the parking area at the House from the Main Road needs some willpower at the beginning. Amazing stay here with my husband. The cottage was perfect for a relaxing and quiet weekend. The breakfast basket was a lovely touch and everything was as described in the listing. Joy is a brilliant host checking in to make sure everything was going smoothly! Would definitely stay again!!

Cute property, clean, no direct access to the hot tub area but it is just across the driveway and is very secluded so wasn't a problem. Downstairs rooms slightly damp feel but then again it is a very old building so didn't bother us much. Very well connected to Bath and Bristol.

Charming and quaint - a great place for families to stay near the Cotswolds. We had a few hiccups on our trip due to things out of our control but the host was super kind and did what she could to make it a great experience for us. The cottage is well kept and has good spaces (bathroom was nice and updated as well as the kitchen) and the bedrooms worked great to fit our family. All in all, I'd recommend a stay here!

Helen and Martin were lovely and welcoming hosts. House was so clean, and the beautiful garden so peaceful and private. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, meeting all the gorgeous dogs, relaxing in the hot tub and walking to the local pub - with delicious food. Would thoroughly recommend and will definitely return! We had a wonderful family stay at Brook Cottage - with 3 generations there was something for everyone! Vanessa was so kind and welcoming and explained all the facilities to us, there was a comprehensive folder inside too. We absolutely loved the cottage, it was immaculately clean, beautifully decorated and so well equipped too. Everyone slept well in the comfy beds. The games room was great for our teenagers and grandparents could join in too. We also enjoyed games on the grass area near the glamping site and our bbq area/ garden was private and beautifully peaceful with wonderful seating area. We wouldn't hesitate to return or recommend to friends. Thanks Vanessa!

This is the second time we have stayed in this cosy beautifully decorated cottage in Bruton. The location and host are fabulous, with such comfortable and classic furnishings and close to all the best of what Bruton has to offer.

This is a beautiful spot which has lovely walks nearby and some amazing walks at local attractions in particular Alfred’s tower - our dogs loved it and so we were able to relax !comfortable accommodation in a beautiful old building the bedroom in particular is gorgeous

Gorgeous location, Jo & Gemma were exceptional hosts. All the small touches were so lovely, breakfast options, pizza oven, BBQ and abundance of local recommendations for walks and restaurants. They ensured we had everything we needed for a relaxing few days. Thank you!

From the moment we arrived we felt very welcomed especially by Carla. Sadly due to the heat wave we’d left our dogs at home so it was nice to have such a friendly and beautiful dog to make a fuss of. Despite the heat the barn was not stuffy at all and so comfortable, we relaxed the whole time we were there. The photos and description cannot do justice to the barn itself which was so spacious and we felt completely at home there and the surroundings are so tranquil. Owen very kindly showed us the original equipment used to make cider which was really interesting. We would definitely love to stay again and bring our dogs to enjoy the stay too. There are lovely pubs locally and only a very short drive to Cheddar Gorge. Thank you so much for letting us stay.

We had a wonderful stay at Higher Blannicombe! The cottage is beautifully kitted out and has everything you could need for your stay. The cookies on arrival were a lovely touch and we really enjoyed the other free snacks! The views from the cottage are amazing and we loved waking up to the rolling countryside. Phil was a fab host and made check in and check out super easy. By far the best Airbnb we've ever stayed at!

We were looking for accommodation close to National Trust properties for a weekend trip. We wanted somewhere that offered more than a hotel room, somewhere cosy, more private, rural and quiet. This cottage proved perfect for us. We loved the location - the cottages on the lane very pretty and a lovely stroll to the river. Also the churchyard has a bench with a beautiful view where we sat in the evening sunshine both days. The birdsong in the morning was a delight. On arrival we immediately got chatting to neighbours on the lane and were made to feel very welcome. The cottage was spotless and we instantly felt at home. We had great days out but were very happy knowing we had the cottage to return to. If we return to the area we would certainly stay here again.

The cottage was very homely in a beautiful village. Sasha was a great host, very responsive and made sure we were settled in nicely and had everything we needed. A top air bnb in a great location. Perfect for a quiet getaway

Our stay at Victoria’s cottage was one that we will reminisce about for a long time - hopefully we will be back soon and will stay much longer! We were so comfortable and felt very much at home, with a dream king bed and beautiful art and textiles decorating the home. Wotton-Under-Edge is a scenic 20-minute walk away for all amenities. Truly a restful Cotswolds experience surrounded by farms and nature.

We loved to stay in this place! We wished that we stayed longer. We had a nice time playing tennis, little walks, did nice trips and really enjoyed Frome. We could absolutely recommend this clean and warm place.

A wonderful stay in a beautiful cottage; a great base which felt like home in a great location for exploring Somerset. Our host was very helpful and responsive and I recommend ‘The Cider Barn’ which is just a short walk from the cottage! I would happily stay at Sunflower Cottage in the future and I shall happily recommend it to everyone.

Lovely property, Quite spacious with 3 seperate areas: Living room with an electric fireplace, kitchen with a dishwasher and a loft bedroom with king bed. Location is great, about 15 mins walk from town.

I absolutely loved staying here. The house itself is very cosy and well set up with everything I needed. There are some beautiful walks on the door step and the surroundings are just lovely. Jo was on hand for anything I needed and was fantastic host. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the area or looking for a an escape from the city.

Brookside Cottage was a fabulous find, a cottage full of character and very homely! Check in was easy, good communication from the host. Location wise it was perfect for us who had a car and wanted to visit Bath & Longleat Safari Park. Parking right outside the door of the house and good value for a group of 7. Would highly recommend.

Another lovely stay. Well stocked with everything you could need for your stay. A beautiful, peaceful spot within easy reach of Bath. Loads of information and suggestions from the host about the local area and getting around. We will be back again

A clean, cosy and homely place – it truly felt like a home away from home. The bed was comfortable, the kitchen was fully equipped, and the bathroom was very clean. The living room had cable TV, the internet connection was reliable, and the space overall was very cosy. The hosts also left us plenty of treats and were incredibly responsive and friendly. I’d definitely stay there again and would highly recommend it.
