There was a great respect for traditional architecture, and the entire original layout of the house was maintained. Montegordo beach (0.5 km) is known for its tepid waters and is located in a sand strip of more than 20 km, from Cacela Velha to Vila Real de Santo António. Vila Real de Santo António (4 km) is conected with Montegordo with cycling tracks. From there to Castro Marim and around the protected wildlife zone of Sapal de Castro Marim, we can do nice biking and bird watching.

Our House is located in the Ria Formosa Natural Park, right in front of the Salt flats around Tavira and Cabanas where the Algarve cycle path from the very east of the Algarve runs all along the coastline towards the western end. Enjoy the stunning sea views from the upper terrace, the covered patio in the little garden or take a walk into nature to watch various birds. The local beach is a 25-30 min walk away as well as the center of Tavira with its many restaurants, bars/cafés and boutiques.
