Holiday rentals with a fire pit in Murray River

Villacostalotta was just what we all needed for a wonderfully relaxing weekend away with a couple of girlfriends. The house was absolutely gorgeous, exactly as the listing described. Shona left a basket of goodies which we demolished with glee! She’s a very thoughtful host. Beds and doonas were comfy, towels were beautifully fluffy, the rainshower shower head was fantastic and the log fire was divine on the cold nights when we each snuggled in the blankets provided on the couch. Thoroughly recommend Villacostalotta if you need somewhere to stay in the area. (The local White Hart pub makes a fantastic meal and the staff there are just lovely, too!)

Had a beautiful stay at The Glen. The autumn colours were stunning each window you looked out of. Cosy at night time, we enjoyed the open fire, as well as the outdoor fireplaces. Having the river in walking distance was a special treat. Perfect spot to relax, but to also use as a launchpad to the nearby areas of Rutherglen, Beechworth and Bright. Was a perfect escape.

We had an amazing time with Bob, Shirley, and Jenny. They were so friendly and made us feel like we had known them for ages. We loved the tour around the farm in Bob’s Model T and got lots of great pictures with the alpacas. The retreat is about 15 minutes from both Castlemaine and Bendigo, making it a perfect home base for when you’re in the area.

The cabin was cozy, clean, and thoughtfully designed, with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Paula was also incredibly responsive and welcoming. If you're looking to disconnect, recharge, and be surrounded by nature’s beauty, this place is perfect. I was sad I didn’t get enough time to spend there so I can’t wait to come back.

Second time we’ve stayed at Cassandra’s place, great dog friendly property with everything you need, Walking distance to town, lovely fire place and a fire drum outside, well fenced for dogs, we will definitely visit again as we love Beechworth.

Kimberley’s place was great the little touches were amazing! And a great amount of space, the only thing was having 2 towels each for 3 nights stay was a bit tight especially when we had a lot to do over the 3 days functions etc by the last day the towels were quite wet and cold. Thank you Sonia and Tim for sharing your gorgeous estate. Everything is available and some many touches make it the perfectly catered escape to the country for visitors. We took advantage of the mountain bike trail and ran / walked the rail trail, browsed Tumbarumba and a fabulous lunch at another local vineyard. The pizza oven, outdoor and indoor fireplaces were a great way to settle down and relax Looking forward to a return in the Spring

We had a wonderful stay here. The house was clean, comfortable & very warm! An easy walk to everything in town & short drives to many beautiful hikes. I would return in a heartbeat!

Lewis went above and beyond what was required - we had long air flights across time zones so he made sure we had the instructions for the lock box. The flat is very close to lots of eateries and Lewis has details of which streets to look along. It’s close to the CBD and just opposite a large park, and the flat is lovely inside. A great place to stay.

The apartment is located in downtown Melbourne, in a very new high rise and was impeccably clean. There is a small IGA a few doors down and some good bars and restaurants close by, as well as only 2 blocks from the Southern Cross station and the river. Although it is relatively sparsely furnished, it has everything that we needed for a short break, and the gym in the building is much better than most hotel gyms. Chris was very responsive and allowed us to leave our luggage because our flight arrived in Melbourne early. Although it didn't impact us because we were out an about for most of the day, there is no TV (but a piano if you are musically inclined) and while the bed was comfortable, it was like a futon on the floor, so it may not be ideal for older people with mobility issues. The price was amazing for such a nice apartment on a high floor in central Melbourne, and I would definitely recommend the apartment.

Overall a nice place to stay. Peter was super responsive and he replace the shampoo immediately when I told him it ran out.

Spotlessly clean with very helpful & prompt communication from hosts. A lift up to unit from basement carparking. Spotlessly clean, with many well thought out extras. Comfortable lounge seating & a perfect out door area. I would highly recommend it to potential guests ... travelling by car ( easy parking)... plus coming by tram or train from city ( stops & station very close). Thank you hosts Dean & Kristen

Gioia’s home was bright and welcoming, it is in an excellent location - extremely close proximity to Woolies, Luna Park and the beach - if you’ve a puppy - there are plenty of doggy friendly places around. The home has everything you need, check in was sooooo easy and provided a restful home for our weekend.

We had a lovely two-night stay at Kurt and Nanette’s place in Golden Point, Ballarat. Kurt greeted us on arrival and was warm and welcoming, which set the tone for a great stay. The heater had been turned on beforehand, making the space feel cozy and comfortable on a chilly Ballarat afternoon. The bed was very comfortable, and we truly appreciated all the thoughtful touches. There was a generous selection of treats provided, everything we needed for a relaxed and enjoyable visit. The space was spotlessly clean, well-appointed, and perfect for a short getaway. We would highly recommend it and would be very happy to stay again.

A comfortable and confidently located cottage. Easy access to town and Bright without the hustle and bustle. Comfortable furniture inside and dog friendly a big plus. The communal fire pit at the front was a nice touch. Recommend a stay if visiting the area

We had such a wonderful time at Deb and Jim’s beautiful property. The accommodation was gorgeous, rustic and very clean. Deb had left us a yummy home-baked loaf of bread, eggs, homemade jam, milk, biscuits, lovely teas and other staples. They had set the fire for us both nights so it was ready to light as soon as we arrived. Deb and Jim are the loveliest couple - we had a fun walk with Jim and Ollie (their pat-loving dog) and we invited Deb and Jim over for a drink in the evening and had a lovely chat. The beds were very comfortable and accommodation was a perfect size for our family of four. We hugely recommend Deb and Jim’s accommodation as a wonderful place to stay and we’re looking forward to returning!

I cannot put into words how beautiful Moosehead Lodge is. Matt and Rachel have gone above and beyond to create a space that is peaceful and comfortable, and the effort shows the second you pull into the driveway. If you're after a getaway to disconnect from the world and reconnect with yourself and loved ones, this is the place to come to. The beds are comfortable, the fireplace is warm and the nature surrounding is heaven. The house guide was an awesome way to know everything you need to know. And the recipes were such a nice touch! Thank you again for such a beautiful stay! P.S. the woodfire pizza oven is incredible!!

We had a great few days at this cute little cabin. Our toddler loved feeding the chickens on the property. The fire made it so warm and cosy and Robert had set it up all ready for our arrival which was a nice touch. Everything was clean and comfortable. Perfect for a little country getaway. This was one of the best experiences that my partner and I ever had. My partner and I appreciate the attention to details that you don't often see these days. From the friendly check ins, the cute food hamper, cake deliveries and food to feed the birds that visit you throughout the day. The views are stunning, spa bath is on point and even though you feel that you are deep in the forest, you are only a 5min walk away from local shops and cafes. Perfect if you feel like nesting amongst nature with a fireplace. If you're um-ing and ah-ing to book - just do it. You will not be disappointed. We will definitely be booking this beautiful accommodation again!!!

From the moment we arrived, Leura’s Log Cabin felt like something out of a fairytale. Danny was there to great us and gave us a tour around the place and gave us the history of the place. The cabin is the perfect blend of rustic charm and cozy comfort. Every little detail—from the timber interiors to the crackling fireplace—made it feel like a true escape from the hustle. Waking up to mist rolling over the trees, sipping coffee on the deck, and listening to the sounds of nature was the kind of peace I didn’t know I needed. The cabin was spotless, beautifully styled, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. You can tell it’s been put together with love. It’s just minutes from the heart of Warracknabeal, but still feels private and tucked away. Cris was excellent host. Everything was there for us. Unfortunately weather wasn't good to enjoy the big fire pit. We will come back during good weather to enjoy the fire pit. Excellent outdoor settings to have morning breakfast or BBQ
