The accommodation was clean, the room is large and comfortable and it is only a few minutes from the train stop, excellent services.

The room was clean, spacious, and there was no inconvenience to staying for a long time.

Makiko was very kind and her home was beautiful. She was very friendly and if there was anything we needed she would reply right away. This was a 10/10 home and stay. This was a huge highlight of our trip to Japan, especially Kumamoto. If we ever come back to Kumamoto (which we more than likely will) we would definitely be coming back here. There’s no other host like Makiko who is kind, sharing and lovable. There were snacks in case we got hungry and also ice cream. She did many kind gestures and like I said, she deserves WAY MORE than 5 stars. Everything about this home was great and you could really tell Makiko cares about her guests! By far this is my favorite AirBNB I’ve ever stayed at. This was great! Thank you so much Makiko and I hope to see you again soon!

A hidden gem in the mountains of Kumamoto! Staying at this private, hand-built lodge was nothing short of magical. The tatami-style bedding was incredibly comfortable, making for restful nights surrounded by nature’s serenity. The surroundings are quiet, peaceful, and perfect for anyone looking to unplug and recharge. We especially loved the sound system — a real treat to play our favorite music while enjoying the view. What made the stay even more special was our host, who was warm, welcoming, and always ready with helpful recommendations. This is the kind of place that stays with you long after you’ve left. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to escape the noise of the world and reconnect with themselves.
