Guthrie's house was amazing - amazing setting in Cederberg and very tastefully furnished. It was our privilege to stay at their family farmhouse. Slightly out of the beaten way but broadly speaking a great place for a getaway.

Such a beautiful & special place, we did not want to leave. Food for the soul!

This farm is at the end of a valley, there are no passing roads and visitors are encouraged not to drive the farm roads. Thanks to this, the quiet was striking; there was no noise pollution from either cars, farm vehicles or aircraft. The birds and animal sounds reign here. We heard zebra, blesbok, springbok and so many bird calls. At night, owls called. The accommodation is charming; loved the colour palette—greens, white, deep red, a warm sand—and the simplicity of the rooms and lovely art (not only prints). The stoep is the perfect place to drink morning coffee and watch the sun rise and the mountain range in front glow, and we had all our meals at the table there too. So beautiful. Best of all was the dam with crystal-clear water where we swam after our hikes. This is a real find!

Our second stay here and it won't be our last- absolute bliss, we already miss those mountains and the crackle of the fire. Michael has created such a beautiful place and is a very caring host. We had a family of hyrax feeding around us one morning, and a mongoose visitor. The views are spectacular. Very romantic spot.
