Kyoto countryside farmhouse, relaxing and enjoy
Megumi made us feel right at home! she was super friendly and supportive of everything we wanted, and she even went all out to celebrate our engagement with her family! During the trip, she brought us around and helped us have an absolute blast! The cooking lesson was also superb; the food, the lesson, and the memories <3 Megumi would also take our preferences into account and prepare the visit to suit us! She's super attentive and immensely helpful :) Thank you for the stay, Megumi! We really enjoyed ourselves. This stay is easily the highlight of our trip <3

Nicest lady ever felt right at home thank you so much

Ippyu Yashiki | Limited to one group per day with breakfast | A registered tangible cultural property hotel near Takarazuka Shrine and Hikone Castle
We are very interested in Japanese culture and history, so we chose this 100-year-old Japanese traditional house! We were very satisfied, although English communication was not very fluent, but the enthusiasm and rigorousness of the homeowner canceled the barrier of language! While the room retains the traditional Japanese house, the convenience of modern facilities is not inferior, even if we bring a 4-year-old baby living here, the living experience and its excellent, I recommend all friends who are interested in Japanese traditional culture to come and experience! Ps: A hearty breakfast, excellent service, one can't forget! Will be coming again next year! The homeowner is taking his own house seriously and the love of the house is very touching!

游庵 Hardwood floor & Tatami mat room near 金閣寺
The room we stayed in was upstairs, with a total of three windows, very spacious and bright, and the view from each window was different, but all were beautiful. It's quiet at night, and at 3 or 4 in the morning, the insects and birds start to sing, just like when I was a kid at home. The host will pick you up and drop you off at the subway station or nearby attractions, like the Golden Pavilion Temple.Breakfast was especially delicious. I had insomnia the first night, so I didn't let the host prepare my portion to sleep a little longer. I only ate on the day of check-out, which was a pity!Next time I have a chance to go to Kyoto, I will want to stay again.

Miyama FUTON&Breakfast Rural Kyoto
Absolutely gorgeous place with very welcoming hosts. We had a great time and we were served delicious dinner and breakfast after we took a bike ride around the neighborhood to see the gorgeous local temples and vistas

breakfast free trip Netflix wifi gym bicycles
Larry was a very positive, friendly host. Very, very nice person and very helpful. He picked us up from the station which was very nice.

Feel Real Japan. brand-new, modern
Like many have mentioned, this was one of the best AirBnB stays I’ve ever had! Yoko’s place is an expression of her generosity — and her appreciation of beauty. We felt nourished physically and emotionally, from food provided for guests, the cleanliness and comfort, and Yoko’s warmth and responsiveness. The bicycles Yoko provides are such a great way to get around and experience Kyoto neighborhoods. I was traveling with my 16-year old nephew and he loved being able to bike off on his own and explore. Meeting Yoko’s father and getting a window into his mastery of bookbinding was also a wonderful experience. So many gems about our stay. Can’t wait to come back to Kyoto and spend more time at Yoko’s place!

A Free Breakfast, Free Parking, Free Pickup (from Kyoto Yamashina Station)
The first time I came to Kyoto, I stayed at my sister's B&B. The overall feeling was very happy. It felt like home. My sister's care gave me a mother's warmth. We arrived in Kyoto at 6:00 on the first day. My sister came to pick up our luggage in the morning to let us go light. It was very thoughtful. She came to the station to pick us up at night, which made us feel very happy. The interior of the B&B is very good, clean and comfortable, the surroundings are very quiet, the sister will definitely come to the station to pick us up to go home when she is free, the room decoration is very cozy!!The older sister also helped us wash the clothes that had some odor from the rainy season three days ago... There really was an illusion of coming home. Before🥹 we came back, the older sister would turn on the air conditioner for us, and there were small desserts to eat after washing (˶‾᷄ ⁻̫ ‾᷅˵) It was so happy... During the three days at my sister's house, my sister always arranged the itinerary for us, always sent messages to care about where we were, where we were sitting, afraid that we were sitting wrong, very kind. If there was🥹 a problem on the road, we could call my sister and it could be easily solved! On the way home, my sister was worried about where we were, and she was relieved until we boarded the plane. In the afternoon, she was afraid that we would forget the time when shopping, and occasionally reminded us not to forget the flight time hahaha! It's really motherly care... The food my sister makes is delicious!!!Considering that we haven't eaten Chinese food for several days and even bought preserved eggs, it's🥹🥹 so happy to learn to cook Chinese food for us!!!!There are also many, many little things that make me feel happy, all of which filled the time I spent at my sister's house these days, so many that I can't list them all (´▽ `) (eg: my sister's puppy Yin Chan is very well-behaved, very obedient, very cute... I love Sister Lily!!Very friendly, young at heart, very communicative hostess...!I highly recommend everyone to stay at my sister's house!!!!I look forward to coming to Kansai again next time, and I will come to stay at my sister's house again!!
Apartment rentals with breakfast

It’s a Jazz Resort !
We stayed at four airBnb‘s in Japan and all have their good points, but this was by far the best. Located in a quiet suburb so not walking distance to the main sites of Kyoto, but with some lovely sites that we would not have seen otherwise Close by. It was as simple Uber ride or train ride to get into Kyoto for main sightseeing and it was lovely to come home to a quiet un bustling local with a wide choice of excellent restaurants to choose among. The apartment itself is spacious, by far the most spacious we stayed in And it’s part of a an apartment complex which has a small gym. Nori and Fumi even served us breakfast all three days we were there in another upstairs breakfast room. To top it off, they picked this up and dropped us off at this train station three days later. All in all it was a really welcoming and comfortable place to stay, well worth the price we paid

Benkada-Mari, a tatami-matted inn surrounded by nature
The host was absolutely outstanding. The atmosphere was always friendly and welcoming. The location was perfect for me since I was attending a conference at the international conference centre (20 minute walk). The facilities were excellent for the price.

Tommy’s Doraemon-style Guest House 🏠✨🍳 This was my very first time staying in a guest house in Japan—and I couldn’t have asked for a better start. Tommy’s home in Kyoto felt like stepping into Doraemon’s world: warm, nostalgic, and full of Japanese charm. The tatami floors, sliding doors, and cozy corners made me feel like I was part of an old-school anime. But what really made this stay unforgettable was Tommy himself. Every morning, he would prepare breakfast for us—homemade, delicious, and filled with love. Honestly, it was one of the best meals I had in Japan, not because it was fancy, but because it was made with such genuine care. There’s something deeply touching about this place. It wasn’t just a place to sleep; it was where my journey in Japan began. And because of that, it holds a very special place in my heart. Thank you, Tommy, for creating such a heartfelt and beautiful experience.

Breakfast incl./KINGYOYA renovated traditional house/Deluxe Room
This was the nicest place we stayed in Kyoto! The host was very friendly and helpful, the space (especially the garden!) is great, the room was spacious, and the breakfast was delicious.

10 minutes to Kiyomizu Temple | Yasaka Shrine 1 min | Changkaku Temple Inn # 401
Had a wonderful stay in this traditional Japanese room. The host was very friendly and accomodating. He provided us delicious breakfast every morning and gave us good tour spot recommendations. We felt comfortable and welcomed here. Would definitely come again on our next Kyoto trip.

Kizuna: Relaxing Stay in 150 yr old Farmhouse
Best Airbnb! we stayed at their 200 yeas old farmhouse with wonderful rooms, a terrace and surroundings. Very cozy big house. We have had a BBQ dinner together with the hosts and they also served us breakfast. it was super great to stay there.

An authentic Japanese house (Home-stay)Room#WABI
Chieri was welcoming and the perfect host. Together with her mother Kauri-san and beautiful WabiSuke, they made us feel at home and gave us a little experience of living within a Japanese Community which is what we were seeking. From inviting us to a local Sushi restaurant to allowing us to share her Tea Ceremony class, Chieri has made our short stay truly memorable.

TANGO ALOHA TERRACE B&B SEA FRONT
I haven’t been to an such amazing place in a long time. Kazumasa and Hiroko are one of the friendliest people I’ve ever met. The location is breathtaking which invited you to stay more than just a few days. I only stayed 2 nights and wished I had more time. Hiroko gave me some really nice recommendations where I should go and what to do. The breakfast was also super delicious and plenty. Mabulin the dog will welcome you with his playfulness and cheeky character. If I happen to be back in this area I definitely will stay with them again. Thank you

I enjoyed my stay here. Friendly staff, very clean room, convenient to bus and subway stops. Also a short walk to the busy shopping street. Breakfast there was a bonus. Very delicious!
