Barn accommodation in New England

My fiancé and I stayed at Lambs hill to celebrate our anniversary. We had the most wonderful time. The views are breathtaking. The wrap around deck with jacuzzi and hammock made our stay calming and serene. I loved seeing the horses and donkeys throughout the day. They made the experience even more special and unique. Charlotte was super responsive and accommodating. We took cabs to Main Street at night for dinner and drinks and it was so close and convenient. I left my heart in lambs hill and can’t wait to return one day.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The place is incredible, you’ll have everything you’d need. Full of very thoughtful details. Very cozy, confortable and charming. The surroundings are beautiful and in a short drive you’d find anything you may need in Brattleboro. From dining to great coffee, groceries and more… I loved how simple and easy where the instructions for check-in and Out. Katherine was very friendly and responsive. Would definitely stay there again.

The accommodation is very warm and lively: plants, inspired decoration, non-standardized furniture,... It's really very pleasant and nothing missing. Martine is a very welcoming and responsive host. And the very large property (woods, lake) offers a very nice environment for walks or just to disconnect from urban life. We really want to go back in the summer or fall!

We had a great time at the yurt. Would definitely stay again. The view is gorgeous and the yurt is so cozy.

Beautiful old New England farmhouse, remodeled to be comfortable and modern but still retain its character. Nice kitchen - able to bake a birthday cake with one grandchild and lasagne with another. Particularly enjoyed the art throughout the house!

Staying at Will and Aenne's barn house was fun and wholesome. I enjoyed saying hello to the animals and the jungle shower most of all. The barn has everything one needs. Though, I must say I was very intimidated by having to light the chef's stove. We walked from the barn to the waterfall down town which was beautiful--great place to hang out and swim in the warmer months. The village of Kinderhook is adorable with quaint little shops. Hudson city had some of the best food I've had in a long time; I strongly recommend eating at Cafe Mutton. Overall, Will and Aenne were very hands-off hosts--as in, they gave us our space and privacy--while still being responsive and attentive. Thank you for the stay! I hope to come back again!

I can't say enough about how much this is the perfect Berkshires vacation/staycation/artist retreat/romantic weekend--you name it--place to stay. The property is lovely, cozy and spacious at the same time. Well-appointed. A 4 minute drive into town-with quaint shops and tasty restutants. And you are smack right in the middle of so many wonderful world-class cultural institutions, music, dance, theatre film, museums--all easy drives away. Julie could not have been a more gracious host, pleasantly answering questions and just always being kind and welcoming. Thank you for a peaceful, enjoyable, perfect stay. We look forward to staying again. I HIGHLY recommended this beautiful spot in the country!

We had a wonderful stay at Pete and Amanda’s. The house was as pictured/ described, clean, and well equipped with everything we needed- plus a great collection of CD’s. Driving directions are clear and Pete was very accommodating with our late check-in. The house is peaceful and tucked away, and we received great recommendations from our hosts on things to do.

beth was wonderful. the place was great. she was so sweet and kind and made sure we had a great weekend. would definitely recommend. the pond with fish was fun to feed them. the little recommendations book she made was very helpful. we were there for an event over the weekend and it was very relaxing and we enjoyed our time.

Great experience! 2 wineries within 1 mile. Close to great hiking. William, was very accommodating with check in & check out time. Would highly recommend staying here. Very cute , clean and comfortable with get amenities.

This is a magical place. If you need a rejuvenating retreat by yourself or with someone you love, this is the place. Every bit is intentional and feels thoughtful. The reading/bath area is so beautiful and sitting with a cup of coffee, candle burning, bubble bath, and a book, I felt like I was in a movie. Valérie and Bruno are also very helpful with questions or recommendations we needed. If you’re looking for a place with stuff to do near by, this isn’t the place, but if you want a cozy cottage feel romantic get away, there isn’t a better place.

A wonderful couple and cute shack under the stars! I really enjoyed my stay at the Shackhilton. Karen and Peter were very friendly and came out to help me get settled and kept me entertained with great banter. The place was very clean and cozy. I would definitely go back!

Our family loved the Sundance Lodge!! My multi generational family had no problem finding the place and getting in easily. Dennis was very responsive and even came and helped with getting some lights we couldn’t get on. We had more than enough space for all 10 of us and thoroughly enjoined the house. Everyone raved about the size of the kitchen and we wished we could have all stayed longer. The billiard room was a big hit but the pizza oven might of stole the show for our big build your own pizza night! We had a fire each night and made memories to last a lifetime. We loved putting our names on the fun drawing wall and left our mark 🍕! Our doggy Bella 🐾 also felt right at home here. Thank you for opening your home to us and hoping maybe we will be back ❤️

Our stay was amazing from start to finish. The barn itself was beautifully done—cozy, stylish, and spotless. You can tell a lot of care went into making it a special place to stay. The surroundings were just as stunning—peaceful, scenic, and full of character. It was the kind of spot that makes you instantly feel relaxed. The hosts were incredibly responsive and helpful whenever we needed anything. We truly fell in love with the place and the area, and we’ll definitely be back!

Chris and Phil are wonderful hosts. Communication is always excellent. We have enjoyed Windy Ridge so much we have been 4 times :). And booking number 5!! Go enjoy the beauty!! Chris provides every thing you will need. Highly recommend this little cozy spot with amazing views!!

A clean and minimalist place with a great view! I’d highly recommend for anyone looking to explore the Hudson valley. The location is within driving distance from several awesome towns and outdoor activities.

The carriage house had all the historic charm one could ask for with modern comforts and conveniences. The kitchen was fully stocked, bathroom spacious and super clean, and the bed cozy and comfortable. We loved watching the daily farm activities, meeting the cows, and savoring the local goods from the farm store. I wish we had brought less food with us—the farm store was stocked with salad greens, dairy products to your heart’s desire (eat the moon cheese!), preserves, and incredibly delicious sausages. All local, all worth sampling. My husband and I were both able to work remotely with the fast wifi. So glad we stayed here and hoping for a return visit sometime soon!

Very nice place, beautiful big deck, awesome creativity to the lighting around the property. A walking path, fire pit, hot tub, big deck to relax on, and a fully equipped stage. It is a step above camping but not quite glamping. A lot of fun, and Apple is a sweet bonus hostess.

The Cupcake Cottage is perfection - equally on a rainy day cozying up inside or on a beautiful clear day sitting outside enjoying the breathtaking views. This quaint cottage has all that’s needed for a relaxing stay. Peter is a communicative and proactive host, making sure we had all the info we needed and providing great local recommendations. This is a great location to enjoy peace and quiet, but also to enjoy a number of great coffee shop, restaurants, farmers’ markets, hikes, etc in the surrounding area.

We only stayed at the Wandering Peacock for 1 night but it was such a treat as a place to crash along our road trip. Not a corner of the home was glossed over, every inch of the place is beautifully curated. Abigail was super responsive and a welcoming host. We squeezed in some time for the hot tub, it was ready to go in 2-3 hours and super relaxing. 10/10 would recommend.

We truly enjoyed our stay at Wilderkill Barn. Maria Cristina and William were exceptional hosts—warm, attentive, and genuinely committed to making our visit special. They went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The home was a haven, with a hot tub, sauna, pool, fire pit, pool table, and immersive sound and movie systems—all of which made our stay delightful despite the cold, dreary May weather. We can't thank them enough. ***That said, we feel it's necessary to address a serious issue with Airbnb itself that arose while booking this property, unrelated to the property itself. An unexpected tax was added after booking, and Airbnb has yet to provide a clear explanation. After years of loyalty, we were disappointed by their evasive and unhelpful customer support. This experience has made us reconsider using the platform in the future. We urge potential users to scrutinize all fees carefully and be aware that Airbnb’s support may be difficult to navigate if problems arise.***

My wife and I rented for a couple nights to attend a dog show at the Fair Grounds. This place was close & easy to access. What we didn't expect was how remarkably quiet the street was, and being walking distance to coffee shops/restaurants! Lovely! Colin had a lot of labels up in the space, so it was easy to figure out laundry and where amenities were located. We would rent here again (and might!) anytime we want to visit Northampton. We recommend Spoleto's (italian) for dinner and Familiars for coffee & snacks - both were spectacular!

We had a great stay. I agree with the positive comments other reviewers have made. In addition, I appreciated the blackout curtains over the windows in the cardinal room. I wake up when a room fills with sunlight in the morning and this is one of the rare listings that have decent curtains. The hosts live on site in the farmhouse next door and are super responsive to communications. The site is adjacent to a large wooded area in the back, which makes it feel like it is out in the country, though it is very near town. It was not an issue for us, but be sure to click "Show more" regarding the description of the space. There it describes how the price is for just 1 of the 3 rooms listed. Each additional bedroom is $100 extra per room for the entire stay (not extra per night).
