Holiday rentals with lake access in Northumberland County

This is a great place to relax. If you need a place to unwind from the city this is it. Very quite neighborhood. If you've never been to the Northern Neck before know that restaurants hours vary and are very limited. Same with any stores. Bring food and drinks.

Our second time staying at Jan’s beautiful waterfront home was even better than the first! The home itself is a gem, filled with lovely decor and thoughtful touches. Jan makes it a home away from home. We were close to restaurants, and enjoyed a great dinner out before heading back to relax. The TV room upstairs is perfect for kids to hang out, and the well equipped kitchen had everything we needed. We will be back again, I’m sure!

We took a small vacation with my sister’s family and we loved the location. Our kids enjoyed the small play area in the basement with the arcade machine and foosball table. We cooked every night and they had all useful appliances. We used the Ninja air fryer and Keurig machine every day. Since we went in January after a snowstorm the road was a little hazardous to use and the lake was completely frozen, so we spent most times indoors. We did enjoy going to the dock and looking at the frozen lake. This will be a great place to visit during the summer, they had Kayaks to use and a nice dock to jump from and fish. We would definitely come back.

Lon's place was perfect. When we arrived the house was spotless and it had everything we needed for our weeks stay. Kayaking, fishing, and crabbing kept us busy for hours out of each day and the property seemed to have endless spots to relax and unwind. Lon himself was very gracious and polite. He answered every question we had, and was very patient. Extremely kind is how I would describe him. Would definitely recommend staying at "Almost Heaven".

Everything was great, beautiful home, love how there was plenty of space for everyone. The sun room was everyone’s favorite place to hang out. Host was very responsive whenever we had questions and checked in to make sure everything was working properly and our stay was going well. Dock had lots of fish and crabs, fish were jumping out the water and was a great touch for people that never experienced seen that before. It rained when we went so not too much outside activities but the home had games that kept everyone busy. Great time to relax, hang out with friends and family, be one with nature, very quiet and private, amazing view; wish we had more time to stay longer. Highly recommend.

We wanted to take my elderly mother to a nice location and this place delivered. It is one level which made it easy for her since no stairs. The view is magnificent, just like in the pictures. There is lots to do, we did some fishing and also got some crab and oysters. They also have kayaks that we used. Place is secluded but also next to a small little ferry that we had to try out. The host was very responsive when I had questions and sent someone immediately when one our kids locked a door. Highly recommend

Had an amazing week at this lake house! The property is stunning—18 acres of peaceful land with a beautiful pool and direct access to the water. The house was spacious, well-equipped, and super comfortable. The host was very responsive and made sure we had everything we needed. Perfect spot for a relaxing getaway for me and my friends!

Lovely stay for Labor Day weekend! We kayaked every day, took a bike ride, and tried out the paddle board! House was clean and location was nice and quiet. Enjoyed morning coffee on deck while watching the red headed woodpeckers, osprey, and array of gulls & terns! The property is 10 miles from a grocery store (& most restaurants) so you will want to plan meals. Bring staples! Host is super responsive and friendly. Would def recommend for those looking to get away & enjoy quiet time on the water. It is so quiet at night. We loved it!

We wanted peace and quiet and that’s what it offered. Our children sent me for my birthday. We arrived at night so it was hard to see the address that’s when we realized others were on the property. Very clean and fresh. A few more kitchen amenities would have been nice. A nice touch of a birthday balloon and treats. We would come back again. Thanks

Kelly's place was immaculate. Kelly went out of her way to help us with all of our things. We had a boat dock. Kelly had everything we needed from water to shore power. This is a one of a kind place to stay, very clean, furnished beautifully and the view is outstanding. Kelly great job all the way around . Thanks for having my fishing team. Thanks Donald

This was my second time at Theresa's place and I made my reservation for next year before leaving! Everything was as described and the hosts were so welcoming (loved the welcome sign, card and sweet treat!). She provides everything you need (and more!) in the kitchen and to unexpected items to help you enjoy the waterfront area (outdoor chairs, cooler and even bug spray!). This was the perfect place for my annual solo retreat. Thank you, Theresa and Kevin! ☺️

Joyce has done a phenomenal job with this lake house. Everything has been thought through. The house actually looks even better than the pictures. You can tell a lot of thought went into the decor. And it is super clean. The kitchen is fully stacked with everything you would need ant home or away. Ample seasoned fire wood and starter sticks makes using their MASSIVE fire pit a breeze. The best part is she gives you access to both of their docks and you will not have to take your boat or kayak out of the water once. We kayak fished Johnson’s and Lacey’s with ease from her house. 100% coming back to stay again.

Janet has a unique property considering the destination is on an island... it has it's own dock which affords guests the ultimate in flexibility. It was the main reason we elected to overnight there. My son and I only had one night for the fishing trip in our own boat over father's day weekend so it was not a deal-breaker we had to book 2 nights. The simplicity of motoring up after a day on the water with all of our gear and the convenience for being up early to catch the right tide was a perfect fit. Wish we had 2 nights to stay and have better luck with the weather... and the fish, but we will be back. Thanks Janet!

We had an amazing holiday weekend at Dave and Jenny’s cottage! They were always so quick to respond with any requests we had! The cottage as perfect and just like the pictures. They literally had thought of everything! The sunsets were absolutely stunning and it was truly the most relaxing time we’d had in a while! It was just what we needed !

We had a wonderful stay at the house, which was both clean and amazing. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and I particularly enjoyed the outdoor shower. The home was well-equipped with everything we needed, making our experience hassle-free. We spent enjoyable moments crabbing on the pier, and we found that everyone we encountered on the island was friendly and laid-back.

We had a great day wonderful views of the river. Love the screened in porch and the swing and the beds were super comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed in my family loved fishing off the dock.

We had a wonderful time here - the property is beautiful and everything was exactly as described. The kids loved the upstairs loft and we all enjoyed our evenings around the fire making smores! Gina was so responsive and made sure we had everything we needed for a great stay.

This was the third year in a row that we’ve stayed here - one renting from the previous owner and two from Sherri. We love it here. It’s great for two folks. The previous two times we had our early-teen granddaughter with us. Three folks is just a slight amount less spacious tha it was with two this year. Three was certainly doable though and not really inconvenient.

Very relaxing and quiet, beautiful property with awesome amenities, kind and thoughtful hosts, very enjoyable experience. Highly recommend.
