Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Nova Scotia

Had a wonderful stay in Mahone Bay. The AB&B was beautiful spacious and had all the amenities you need. It was located in the heart of town and was easy walking to shops eateries and the waterfront. Craig and Laura were wonderful host responding quickly to all our needs.

An incredible place to get some peace. Enjoyed the lake and the beautiful surroundings. Highly recommend.

Really great country house! Nothing really dated like in some other older homes. I was impressed by the sheer size inside. Loved the comfy living room and spacious kitchen. The wifi is super fast and reliable. Big bonus is the modern washer and dryer. Tammy Jo is very nice and friendly, always responding quickly.

Perfect plus+++. The house has amazing views and is very private and architecturally distinctive. Alexandra was a great host very helpful but never intrusive . Hirtle beach is in walking distance from the house which we (myself and my Corgi) did every morning . The farmers market on Thursday’s Lunneberg Has amazing fresh scallops and local bake goods and fresh veggies . A truly memorable trip. I can’t wait to return.

We chose this location because it wasn’t far from Wolfville and Aylesford - I have family in both location. The accommodation was easy to get to and convenient. Eric and Jenny were responsive and helpful but we were out most of the time so I didn’t need much help. The place was clean and well kept and very well done. I stayed with my 4 boys and we were quite comfortable. The location had a great back lawn for my kids to run outside and play. Just a heads up if you’re travelling with kids in the summer months. There are no room darkening window coverings so you might want to bring your own. The place is beautiful with lots of light and windows so it’s pretty light in the place depending on when you’re going to bed. We would totally go back :)

we were in the area for work and didn't like the accommodations we originally had; luckily, we found this gem and decided to book it at the last minute for our last night, the hot tub was great. The place was spotless.I would definitely go back

Kate’s place is a wonderful home base for exploring the Fundy shore. Very well appointed with thoughtful touches from the host and a wonderful property that is clearly very cared for.

We went as a work group, four women for four days!! This place was perfect, there are 3 bathrooms and seperate spaces, almost like renting two properties. The outside space is amazing and a clean hot tub to boot! we fell so in love with this place and hope some day to return in the summer months to utilize the beautiful lake this property is on. The host was amazing and lives nearby incase you need anything. I would definitely recommend this place !

we loved staying here for 4 days! it was walkable to so many amazing pubs, restaurants, and the water front. the place was clean, spacious, and exactly what we were looking for. we will definitely be back!

We absolutely loved our stay at the Cosy Studio. It is very nicely decorated and in the best location for all that Peggy’s Cove has to offer. We watched the sun set from the bedroom and sunrise from the kitchen. Nicole responded to our questions near instantly and we loved eating next door at the Sou’Wester.

Absolutely gorgeous pristine property with a beautiful fire pit and seating area. Great little walking trail that surrounds the property and follows along a brook. The hosts had every light clearly labeled in the house for which was which this was great when your unfamiliar with the spot. The hosts had clear instructions posted on the door how to access the walking trail, how to start the BBQ, how to start the firepit. Although not beach weather during my stay the airbnb was equipped with beach chairs a cooler and beach toys and boogie boards for guest use and also was all Clearly labeled stating so. Bathroom had extra "if you forget" toiletries. Small coffee area fully stocked with small snacks and espresso machine with full stock of pods. Another great feature was the bedroom had a small rechargeable fan you could use as hand held or lay on your pillow if your a fan person I loved this. Definetly recommend this airbnb and the hosts 5*

I rented Steve and Mary Ann’s Airbnb for my son and his girlfriend and they loved the accommodations, very comfortable and quiet… they said it was the best sleep they had during their vacation to Nova Scotia.

Staying at Clarke & Shelley’s was great! The place was very nice, tidy and clean. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed. There was shampoo, conditioner and body wash in the shower. The rooms were spacious and the windows let in a lot of natural light. The place felt very private, as there is nobody else living in the house (the top floor is just for storage). Great to see the sun setting over the sea on a cloudless evening. Shelley was very friendly and made us feel very comfortable.

This place was well worth tphe price per night. The view was beautiful and the furnishings were artfully done. Grocery and liquor store were two blocks away. Apartment was very large and well stocked with everything needed. I appreciated the extras provided like nespresso coffee, qtips, and makeup remover pads. Very centrally located. The wharf and citadel are very close by as well as other shopping. We would definitely stay here again if in the area.

Another GREAT stay at this 'sweet' suite. This space is top-notch. Suite is more like an apartment with all amenities, [e.g. dishwasher, full-size washer &dryer, stove/oven; microwave and full-size refrigerator. Residential neighbourhood is very quiet. Hosts go above and beyond to make your stay comfortable. Thanks again and hope to see you soon.

Great spot, super unique. Perfect for a getaway not far from the beaten path.

We had a wonderful stay. The location was excellent for attending a nearby conference and exploring downtown Halifax. The apartment is spacious and clean. Andrea was also great to communicate with and very accommodating.

Staying at Nancy’s place will always be one of the highlights of our 4 week holiday. Lovely bed linens, bathrobes(!) and plenty of soft towels were so nice to have. The apartment is very nicely appointed, with ample dishes, cookware cutlery and miscellaneous pantry goods. While St.John’s popular restaurants are less than 20 min walk away, it was wonderful option to be able to eat in. We enjoyed shopping at the wonderful St.John Market for fresh meats, seafood and produce. All were easy to prepare here. Nancy was so cheerful whenever we interacted by text. I’d happily stay again and will recommend to friends and family.

Lovely, peaceful stay. Super quiet and the perfect getaway just a few steps to the downtown core. The condo was furnished with everything you need.

This was a wonderful place. Great location,very clean and very well equipped. I would definitely stay again and I highly recommend it. The view of the park was lovely. There were many nice small details like a cocktail set and doggie treats . We had a lovely experience.

Great location. Very peaceful! Daniel was helpful, responsive and friendly! The place was beautiful, hot tub was great to relax in. Little touches like the basket of snacks, robes and slippers and towel art made it even better!

Dico’s place actually looks better in person! Absolutely beautiful. Check in was easy and Dico was great in terms of communication. Location was absolutely perfect and within walkable distance to almost everything you need! I would stay again.

Thank you Erica for a wonderful stay. This place was easy to get to, and nearby some really excellent spots. A quick Uber or ferry ride to downtown Halifax made this trip very accessible. Erica was responsible and made sure our stay was as comfortable as possible. Highly recommend this great spot in Dartmouth.
