Holiday rentals with a kayak in Orcas Island

I’m in a long distance relationship and my partner and I like to do airbnbs during his visits here to check out different areas-I knew he would love the accessibility to the trails from Dawns house. My 6yr old son LOVED the downstairs and bunk bed despite how cold it was. The pellet stove was a bit intimidating to figure out so we left it alone. Downstairs did have a bit of a cat pee smell-my kiddo wasn’t bothered because his allergies were so bad he couldn’t smell (not a pet allergy, just the wild cottonwood this year), but it was hard for me to stay down there. The hot tub was an added bonus, it probably could’ve been cleaned a bit better before our stay but we enjoyed it nonetheless. Overall beautiful home and comfortable stay.

Well furnished house in a beautiful setting. Access to the dock and lake makes this a great vacation choice. Communication with owner was great. Owner is very respectful of guest privacy.

The whole family was impressed with the location. It was simply beautiful, with the ocean only a few steps away from the back door. We saw eagles almost every day while we relaxed on the patio, and being from the midwest we all got a kick from observing the tide come in and out. It was also a great location as a home base to drive around and see the sights. The house is about an hour north of Seattle, an easy drive. We also took a day trip to Vancouver, which was one of the nicest cities we've ever visited. The house itself was clean and had everything you might need. Even the mattress was a pleasant surprise, my bad back never bothered me, which is unusual when I travel. Highlights included a wonderful whale watching excursion we took from a town called Anacortes, about 40 mins north of the house. We followed a pod of Orcas for about an hour and a half and had a blast. I also recommend the Flying Heritage and Combat Armor museum in Everett. It has an amazing collection.

We had a great time at Anna's house and immediately felt right at home. It had everything we needed. It felt perfectly secluded and private in spite of the neighborhood being relatively dense. The view of the lake was beautiful. We appreciated the house's proximity to Bellingham and the area's sprawling mountain bike trails. Grateful for our time there!

We loved our stay at Lindsey's place! The location on the lake is stunning and so peaceful. We barbecued on the porch and had campfires every night. Memorial Day weekend the lake was cold but we still enjoyed kayaks and paddleboards. Perfect way to disconnect from the world and reconnect with nature.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! It was the perfect, peaceful, relaxing, and beautiful location. We saw all kids on wildlife but our highlight was seeing a pod of minke whales from the deck! We saw sea lions, bald eagles, deer, bunnies, and lots of crabs! Would come back in a heartbeat!

Perfect location and home for a girls weekend. Lake Martha is nice and quiet

The cottage is very comfortable, peaceful and has a gorgeous view! We enjoyed the beautiful surroundings, visiting the beaches and watching sunsets from the covered porch. The bed was especially comfortable and we slept great! Husband especially loved the turntable and awesome record collection! A word of caution if you have any mobility issues- there are several steps up to the front door from where you park on the street. We enjoyed our stay!

If you want a sweet little respite away from the rest of the world, this is an excellent spot. Cottage was squeaky clean and had gorgeous views of both water and mountains. The market was super helpful, and they have a great selection of VHS tapes and DVDs available to borrow for a blast from the past. Truly one of my favorite stays I’ve ever had.

5 stars from me all around! It was an overall relaxing vacation for us. The view is the first thing noticeably unique about this airbnb. Absolutely breathtaking!!! Its even beautiful from inside the room. We enjoyed the massage chair, comfortable bed, tv, portable speaker, and the hot tub. I would recommend this airbnb and would love to visit again!

The place was quiet and clean. The host was very easy to get ahold of with questions, and helpful. Overall great experience we plan to visit again someday.

My fiancé and I wanted to get away for the weekend and we loved this place. It was very clean, had a large fenced yard for the dogs to run around in, and we were even given fresh eggs from their chickens. We would definitely rebook in the future!

This was one of the best Airbnbs I have stayed at over the years! The house is very well stocked with everything you could need for cooking in the kitchen and kayaks/bikes for exploring the area. The views of Mt Baker off the back deck are amazing and the sunset over the San Juan Islands was great too. Beds and bathrooms were clean and comfortable as well. Would definitely stay here again.

The Elf House was the perfect sanctuary for my solo retreat. I was able to disconnect and unwind in a peaceful environment that had everything I needed. Including a piano! They were great hosts with plenty of clear instructions to cover any questions that may arise. I wish I was staring out their window at the water right now.

The resort was really pretty, hosts were very responsive and really nice, the beds are very comfy, the kitchen well equiped. I really liked the camp fire and that there was a sauna. The place to get food is a bit far so bringing something to cook is a good idea. A very nice place to stay

Great cozy cottage close to the private beach. Place was well equipped. Loved desk with the fire pit and heater. Host was very responsive and accommodating our early check in. We had wonderful stay It definitely on our future list.

Amazing location and setting. Place was perfect for medium sized group and lots of available amenities at the house.

It was fun watching the tide come in and out. The place wasn't squeaky clean, but I thought it still merited 5 stars for cleanliness. It would have been nice to have stayed longer and to have made use of the boats and firepit onsite, but we did enjoy the nicely decorated interior and the lovely deck.

We loved our weekend at this home on Orcas. The location was great to wake up to and the home was well stocked and clean when we arrived and had tons of amenities. Would definitely stay here again!

A beautiful cabin right next to the water, with several outdoor places from which to watch otters, eagles, hummingbirds, kingfishers and other wildlife. We made good use of the lovely deck and bbq. The cabin is so comfortable with lots of little touches to make it feel very special. It truly is a beautiful and very peaceful spot, a great place to recharge our batteries. We were on foot and the island is so walkable and the islanders so friendly. We can’t wait to go back!

This house was one of my favorite Airbnb’s yet. It easily served our sleeping needs. I liked how there were thermostats in each room, including the bathrooms. The kitchen was well appointed and my favorite - they left a welcome basket with sparkling water and wine. The house is situated only 1/2 mile from a great park for hiking, strolling and mountain biking. As for the beautiful Whatcom Lake, there were some stairs to get down to the sitting area where we could watch the mergansers and even a few loons. We didn’t take advantage of the kayaks and canoe, but one of us took a couple of cold plunges (not my thing). We were there in the first of April and the water was still cold! I highly recommend this house and location.
