This is a private lodging [Kokoro in the middle of the lake]. It will be a private house for one group per day, where you can feel the rich nature of Shiga Prefecture and enjoy rural life. It can accommodate up to 10 people in a nice, calm, old-fashioned space. Please relax with your family and friends. About 1 hour by car from downtown Kyoto, about 20 minutes by bus from Azumikawa Station on the JR Kusai Line, about 10 minutes by taxi. It is popular with overseas customers, families, and groups. A BBQ set is also available for rent. BBQ equipment is available for a fee, so please let us know. Free parking on premises. Up to 3 regular cars can be parked. For large vehicles, it may be difficult to accommodate 3, so please contact us in advance. If you consult with us in advance, we can also lend it for a fee. There are also plenty of outdoor facilities in the surrounding area, so please use it as a base for activities. Please also use it as a base for cycling in Lake Biwa. This is a 10-minute walk from JR Omihachiko Station and an 8-minute walk to the nearest Biwako no Hama. You can see Lake Biwa from the building. Pets are also welcome!　You can enjoy local life without worrying about inns, hotels, or group glamping accommodations. Our guesthouse is in a beautiful mountain village, near to it are pristine forests with beech trees and an ancient mountain path that was used to carry sea products from Japan sea to Kyoto in old days. In front of the guesthouse runs a stream that is a source of Lake Biwa and its water is crystal clear ; in early summer nights many fireflies fly over the stream. In winter, we have a lot of snow ; sometimes it reaches 2 meters from the ground! On clear nights you can enjoy the sky full of stars.

To ensure you enjoy the stay to the fullest, I set check-in and check-out time to both 12:00 Noon. So you can stay up for 24 hours with one night booking. YAMANOTE HOUSE is accessible from major Kansai stations with 37min from Kyoto Sta. or 65min from Osaka Sta. If you come by car from Kyoto it takes less than 1 hour. The area aournd the house is once small castle town. The house is located next to the Shrine, Hiyoshi-Jinja, where the Omizo Festival is held on May 3 and 4 every year.

Please use our kitchen for simple cooking. The nearest stations are Oji Station on the JR Line and Goido Station on the Kintetsu Line. I'll come pick you up until 5pm. Please use the bus to return home. There is a bus stop nearby. If you are arriving by car, there is parking available on site.
