Here, you can enjoy a stay where you can enjoy time itself, surrounded by sound, fire, water, and stars. The music room has a grand piano, drums, a guitar, and a bass. During the pizza oven experience (separate fee), you can bake authentic Neapolitan pizza, and in the evening, you can watch the starry sky and the Milky Way while enjoying a BBQ and sitting around a campfire. In summer, you can play in the water in the river right nearby and relax in nature with a tent sauna (additional fee). There is a fully equipped kitchen in the old house, which was formerly a cafe, so you can cook together or read quietly in the library. You are free to spend your time as you wish. The bath is a Shigaraki ceramic bathtub. Please relax your mind and body while being enveloped in the warmth of the wood-fired fire and the scent of cypress. Our guesthouse is in a beautiful mountain village, near to it are pristine forests with beech trees and an ancient mountain path that was used to carry sea products from Japan sea to Kyoto in old days. In front of the guesthouse runs a stream that is a source of Lake Biwa and its water is crystal clear ; in early summer nights many fireflies fly over the stream. In winter, we have a lot of snow ; sometimes it reaches 2 meters from the ground! On clear nights you can enjoy the sky full of stars.

YAMANOTE HOUSE is accessible from major Kansai stations with 37min from Kyoto Sta. or 65min from Osaka Sta. If you come by car from Kyoto it takes less than 1 hour. The area aournd the house is once small castle town. The house is located next to the Shrine, Hiyoshi-Jinja, where the Omizo Festival is held on May 3 and 4 every year.

Omi's Machiya "Kado" Traditional building preservation area

This is the only guest house (entire house rental) facing Shinmachi Street in an Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings. The streets lined with merchants' houses, built in the late Edo period to the Meiji era, give you a strange feeling as if time has stopped when you step into it. This Shinmachi neighborhood is important not only for its scenery but also as a historical site. This is a very rare accommodation where you can stay in such an area.
