Monthly Rentals in Oughterard

Kate was a wonderful host. Very helpful and accommodating. The cottage was in a great location for traveling to many of the major attractions. Not far from Kylemore Abbey and Galway. Local town of Oughteraud was very close for shopping and dining.

Pat and Mary Angela are marvellous hosts. When we arrived the fires were lit, the table was set and there were gorgeous scones made by Mary Angela. They are both so friendly and gave lots of recommendations of places to visit. Their lovely cottage is perfectly situated for exploring Galway. It is definitely a home from home. My husband and I along with our 3 adult children and 2 Jack Russells had a great time there and we had everything we needed. We also loved Pat and Mary Angela's cafe and bookshop in Oughterard Village. Well worth a visit. Couldn't recommend this cottage highly enough!

What a great time we had. I was with a group of 4 long time friends from the United States. I was the only one that had been to Ireland previously and the house was perfect for us. We had enough space that we were not on top of each other. We could walk (although a little further than we preferred) to the downtown area. Kathleen provided recommendations before we arrived. The quaint town had everything we needed with pubs, restaurants, cafes and shops. We golfed the local course too. The house was exactly as described. The only issue i had and is the same with so many places in Ireland is that parking was tight and the driveway is tough to get in and out of with traffic but we made it work. Thank you so much for offering your place to help make our trip so great and created lifetime memories.

We absolutely loved our stay at this beautiful rural getaway. The setting is so peaceful and relaxing—surrounded by open countryside, stunning vistas, and that kind of deep quiet you only find in nature. It was the perfect place to slow down and switch off. The room was super comfortable, with everything we needed, and there were some lovely thoughtful touches—like staples in the cupboard and fridge, which made us feel really looked after. The friendly dogs were a highlight—so sweet and full of personality! It really felt like being part of the place. We even got to share a glass of wine with the owners one evening, which made the stay feel all the more welcoming and personal. We only stayed one night and really wished we’d booked two. It’s the kind of place you want to linger in. We’ll definitely be back when we can. If you’re looking for a peaceful, scenic retreat with a warm, down-to-earth vibe—this is it.
