Bed and breakfast holiday rentals in Platteville

Why not stay at an airbnb that actually has a hot homemade breakfast?! This is one of only two that we've found on the site. The area was unique and charming. The hosts went out of their way to help us get in during the rain. Breakfast was tasty and accommodated our preferences. Conversations were intriguing and meaningful. We were simply passing through for a night but could see this being a lovely getaway. If you're in the Cedar Rapids area, don't miss this place!

We love Lona’s place and this is the 4th summer we have stayed! We come back every year to stay for a night while road tripping to Indiana and back to Colorado!

Donna took great care of my parents. They are in their later 70s and had a wonderful time at her BnB. They highly recommend her home.

We really enjoyed our stay. The beds were so comfortable and we had a good night’s sleep. The breakfast in the morning was absolutely delicious. We felt safe and comfortable here and we will be staying again. The staff is friendly, helpful and very accommodating.

It was clean and cute and quaint. We were able to walk to downtown and leave our car parked.

Ms. Barbara is an absolute doll! She was very accommodating and always quick to respond to messages. Her breakfast is amazing and I loved that she used local products as well. Each room has its own unique style and I was really interested in the stories of each room. The bathroom and tub were amazing- it brought back memories from my Grandma’s house when I was little. The house has history as well, and the atmosphere was super cozy. The bed was almost too comfortable to want to get out of :) We will definitely plan another visit as soon as we can, and hope that Ms. Barbara isn’t booked up at the time. Thank you again for EVERYTHING, Ms. Barbara!!

We enjoyed our stay for our 10 year anniversary. The place was beautiful and the food was delicious!

We loved our stay here. It was a beautiful home that was close to the main street and attractions. We were even able to walk to the Rubiyat restaurant and enjoy an evening stroll. The bed was comfortable and the room was perfect for the two of us. Melissa made a delightful breakfast and the most delicious pumpkin scones. My only regret was I didn't stuff more in my pockets. :) Check in was easy and there was no problem getting in. We did end up leaving before breakfast on our last day and hadn't received check out instructions before hand. We sent a text and got a quick response although we had already left. The stay was more expensive than we would normally like to spend, we have stayed at other bed and breakfasts and paid much less. We imagine the prices were inflated because there was an event in town.

I needed some quiet time for reflection. Teri's rental was absolutely perfect. Everything I needed was within walking distance and the privacy and coziness were exceptional . I have already talked with two travelling groups about plans to return.

My second stay here was like my first. The location is near an event I had and the accommodations were clean and comfortable. Dianne is a friendly and considerate host. I predict I'll stay there again.

We had an amazing stay. it was clean, cozy, and quiet. Paul made us feel right at home immediately and is very kind. The breakfast was great; warm and fresh. Everything included in this b&b plus being able to walk around the amazing town of Galena made it an amazing trip for us and we definitely will be visiting again.

Great place to stay. Excellent food, both breakfast and dinner. Room was clean and just as pictured. We had access to many other rooms in the house. Even with other guests in the house, the room was quiet and peaceful. My favorite thing was the wonderful conversations with our hostess.

Barb and Jeff’s home is absolutely stunning. It’s like walking into a better homes and gardens or Martha Stewart magazine. Loved all the attention to detail in the rooms, at breakfast, and the general area. We appreciated access to coffee/tea/hot chocolate and bottled water as well. The grounds are lovely and wish we’d had more time to enjoy the fire pit and gardens! Breakfast was amazing and liked that she even made some things that were native to the area. Fresh herbs in the water and lavender everything 💜 Thank you for restoring this beautiful home, and giving it your whole heart! Loved the lavender to take with (and the seeds). Thanks so much for having us stay!

Miriam is such a lovely host. Her property was cozy and well maintained and the views are just amazing. She baked us breakfast every morning, communicated very well and made sure we were comfortable. She also suggested things to do near by and restaurants. We had breakfast together the morning of check out and got to know her even more. Totally recommend one orange center if you are in Dubuque!

Absolutely phenomenal! We loved that we could bring our pup and explore this treasure of Illinois! 10/10 would come back again!

Needing a cross country driving stopping point, Lincoln just worked with our mid day departure resulting in an after dark arrival. Our normal local hosts were off in Italy, so this was a great find and we will book direct at Martha's B&B next time to give us full choice of the many rooms vs. just seeing this one room on this platform, which was great up on the 3rd floor with multiple rooms. All of the rooms are unique and spacious with an over the top "master" suite. Each room has its own set of furnishings that are constantly being restored. Each has new or renovated bathrooms. Everything down to the springs in the door knobs are brought back to smooth operation! Todd will never run out of projects on this home, and fortunately is not convinced any detail is finished.

Definitely worth the stay. Will be back if in the area!

laVanne was a great host. The house is beautiful and it was extremely clean. The neighborhood is very safe and quiet. She was very responsive if I needed anything. Everything you need is included and the space is exactly as advertised. If I'm in the area again I will be staying again.

I really enjoyed my stay here, the host was very very respectful, polite, and very generous. This was my first time staying at a Bed and Breakfast and I can honestly say it was well over worth it, and if I could I’d stay again anytime

Comfy place in town close to a number of hiking trails. Communicated quickly and was flexible with check-in. Gave great recommendations for places to eat as well as sights to see. House is a stunning 1800's home and I enjoyed reading out on the back wrap around porch. Neighborhood was quiet and relaxed. Glad I found Michelle's place for a weekend get away. Definitely will visit again next time I am down to visit the area and stay a bit longer.

Our stay was great! We were only able to be there for a short while but they were very hospitable and the entire place was very cute and cozy. We also LOVED, Leo, the little orange cat with no tail <3

The host was able to accommodate a last minute reservation on a Saturday night when every hotel in town was full after my wife and daughters hotel reservation got messed up and left them stranded. The host immediately called me after I booked the trip and drove over to the property to get a room ready for them. The room was nice and there was plenty of amenities (the host even went and stocked up on food for them). They really saved the day so my family could make it to their dance competition in the morning. Highky recommend. Thank you so much!

I cannot say enough good things about Miss Murphy’s Bed and Breakfast. From the moment I arrived, I felt like I had stepped into a storybook. The house is charming, cozy, and full of character—every detail thoughtfully curated to make you feel right at home. My room was spotless, beautifully decorated, and incredibly comfortable. The location is also perfect—tucked away just enough for peace and quiet, yet still a short stroll from the heart of downtown Galena with all its cute shops and historic charm. If you’re headed to Galena, do yourself a favor and stay here! It’s the kind of place that stays with you long after you leave. Can’t wait to come back!
