Local events include: The Abergavenny Food Festival, Crickhowell Walking Festival, Haye Literary Festival, The Green Man. The village is two miles away with shops and pubs.

Great cycling with riverside rides and mountain trails. Shop, pub & takeaway in the village. Designer outlet, Odeon cinema, nature reserves and castles all a short drive. No 1 Cathelyd Colliery Stables is a dog friendly property renovated from a pit pony stables. Next door, No 2 is slightly larger and can be booked separately on Airbnb. There are walks on the doorstep being next to the Cwm Clydach bird reserve and the cottage has its own private valley walk with a waterfall. We are situated 3 miles from J45 of the M4 with easy access to Swansea, Gower and the Brecon Beacons. The Swansea Cycle path is on the doorstep. The town is a mile away.
