Family-friendly holiday rentals in Preston County

We stayed here for our 26th anniversary and it was perfect! It is an amazing cabin with incredible views. I highly recommend this cabin. The one piece of advice is because cell service is spotty don't trust your gps. Follow the instructions and look for the name of the cabin on the sign.

Beautiful place! Went on a girls trip and it fit exactly what we needed, cozy, nice views and relaxing. Only things I feel the need to make people aware of are that the hot tub is off the side of the house and you have to walk over gravel to get to it so bring flip flops, and that there are a TON of bugs in the house, we had ladybugs and stink bugs all over, fine for us but if it’s not something you can handle then bring traps. Overall amazing trip!

Almost Heaven! Perfect home, perfect location for a family get-together. Bedrooms and bathrooms are comfortable and all needs will be met. The kitchen has everything you need to prepare meals. Just bring food! The lake is crystal clear and beautiful, and tall trees cover the landscape. The deer, chipmunks, squirrels and birds are right outside the door. The firepit was our evening spot to gather and chat. And toast marshmallows. And even though the kids are in their 40's, they made s'mores! This is a place to revive your soul. I could stay here forever.

The cabin was absolutely beautiful, very clean and cozy and felt right at home. There were tons of amenities provided. Absolutely gorgeous scenery, very peaceful and away from the hustle and bustle of the regular world. Our host went above and beyond, and was incredibly helpful. We had a snowstorm during our stay. She was incredibly helpful with making sure we were safe, had everything we needed, and assisted with getting our car out from getting stuck. The locals in the surrounding area were also very kind with assisting in their efforts. She was readily available and ensured that our stay was spectacular, I would absolutely stay again and have her as a host. We are incredibly grateful for all the efforts she did, our weekend was exactly the getaway we needed and her help was irreplaceable. We look forward to next time!

Our family of 4 had an amazing time at Whispering Pines. Peaceful, quiet, and relaxing all describe the location perfectly. Able to recharge! Laura was very responsive and helpful. Fishing, chickens, horses….kids loved it. Great fire pit in the backyard. Inside was comfortable and cozy with large rooms, comfortable beds and couches. We loved the entire trip and will be back!

If you want seclusion, this is the place for you. Very quiet, seen deer in the back yard two days in a row. The master bed is extremely comfortable. Does have stone driveway, and if you want any groceries stop on the way. Wifi worked great. Overall great place to stay!

I couldn’t wait to do this review, omgoodness laura’s place, appropriately named Country Charm, well that it is, so very beautiful, she told us that the chickens would greet us when we arrived and that they did, and the horses on the property wow i loved it, the house itself was beautiful, if you are looking for somewhere private and peaceful to relax and unwind from the world this is the place, quiet and serene. go sit down by the pond and enjoy yourself or get in the hot tub and melt away anything that bothers you, it was just what we needed, a little getaway, a honeymoon that we both wanted. Also in the area not far from her place is Deep Creek Lake , things to do if tht is what you are looking for or as we did Swallow Falls state park, take a hike and see the waterfalls, they are breathtaking. See you again Miss Laura, we loved our stay.

Great place for a secluded weekend away close to lots of hiking opportunities and not far from Deep Creek Lake

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5 STARS! Absolutely incredible property! Completely private, the absolute most private property we've ever been to! We had such a wonderful experience ☺️ We started our mornings hiking at Ohiopyle State Park and Cooper's Rock State Forest with the joy to come home to a wonderful property! The fire pit, walkable land and disc golf made for an excellent time to wind down. We are nature junkies and this place cannot get any better! Our pups were able to run freely and have literally the best time of their lives! The birds chirping and cows mooing made our experience even better. We strive to own a place like this in the future! Cannot wait to return next time we're in the area! Just a side note, currently there is no microwave, plan accordingly ☺️

We were looking for a peaceful, cozy location in nature away from the hustle and bustle of town yet not too far and this was perfect! Rebecca was very responsive to a couple minor issues. Also we got daily visits from a deer and her family. I mean where else can you get that.

We had a wonderful stay at Bill's place! He generously offered us a free upgrade from our original booking and cooked us a wonderful 5 course dinner on the house. He even gave us a bottle of wine to take back with us and gave us eggs from his chickens when we checked out. The property is beautiful and has lots to explore, including a tree house, hedge maze, and a trail through the woods. It was perfect for our dog to explore with us. We highly recommend staying here. Thanks again for everything Bill!

This was an absolute gem of a property! A well kept cozy farm house with picturesque views all around. A lovely welcome basket of treats was provided upon arrival! Incredibly priced for the size of the home as well as being very clean. Our favorite feature of the house was the wood burning fireplace- ending the evening around the fire was a perfect way to close out each day! 10/10 property.

This was a wonderful retreat. The place was spotless and had everything I needed. The view is incredible and so peaceful. I planned to hike but ended up staying put all weekend because it was so homey, comfortable, beautiful, and serene. I agree with others about the drive up to the house. If you have a low car take it slow!

This guesthouse is the cutest little spot you could ever ask for. Super comfortable, clean, and with all the amenities you might need for an extended stay. I’ve been using it as a home base for a travel nurse contract, and it has been so perfect.
