Holiday rentals with lake access in Puntarenas Province

This place is incredible, a truly unique gem. The open layout makes you feel one with the natural surroundings and is awesome rain or shine. There are so many different spaces to hang, and it's very private. The bedrooms have doors that close and screens, along with aircondlting and fans, which allow you a peaceful night sleep. The beds were SUPER comfortable. The stone bathroom is so cool and there is both an indoor and outdoor shower. The outdoor shower was magical and we essentially used this most of the time. The kitchen has simple supplies and no oven, but it gets the job done and we were able to eat several meals at home, which saved a bundle since restaurants are expensive. It's ~15min from downtown Puerto Viejo, but it is in between a lot of different stuff, and is on a road that leads to an awesome zipline tour. The pool is not heated, but feels refreshing on warm days and is warm enough. He keeps it immaculately clean! There are poison dart frogs all over:) so fun!

We had the best time! We had a few small plumbing issues, Joel was immediately responsive and problems were solved within an hour. Restaurants: Rustico, Rural (Tamarindo), Lola’s. Beaches: playa Flamingo & Playa Avellana were our favorites. House is super family friendly with the open concept.

We had a great stay. The house is as described and the kitchen was particularly well equipped. The beds were comfy. Irma was very helpful with recommendations and a booking for a birthday meal. We received fresh eggs in the morning, which was lovely. This does mean noise from the chickens, so bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper. There is a lovely balcony and plenty of space for the kids to run around.

This is truly an incredible place! Private pool, away from the business but close enough to enjoy epic beaches, restaurants and all the other things you want to do. I highly recommend staying here.

I really enjoyed staying at Lorena’s cabin on the Rio Blanco: the river is absolutely gorgeous, the hike to river is beautiful and fun, and the home is beautiful and comfortable- didn’t even need any AC! The air flow was easy, not many bugs, and the air smelled so rich. We enjoyed the above ground pool - so cool after the car ride from the coast! Thank you, Lorena, for sharing your beautiful space with us: what a blessing!

The only negative that Miguel has for his beautiful place is the guards. It seems in their attempt to keep the property safe they repeat the check in repeatedly with every time you enter the property. There needs to be a way that once you check in they will recognize either the car or a paper that allows you to get in without having to sit through the process EVERY time. If you are coming and going through out the day it is very frustrating.

Great place to stay. Central location and very convenient check in and check out process. Security on the premises were also very nice. Really great we could use the pool as well!

Perfect place

This condo is located on the third floor (via elevator) at the end of a hall, with views to a green space and giant chunk of granite. The unit has two bedrooms (only one with AC) with a third loft style swing space (office / bedroom). The kitchen & living space are compact but sufficient for a short stay. The true bonus is access to a clubhouse with bar/restaurant, two pools, gym and two tennis hard courts. The recreational space has a wonderful view down to the Central Valley. We appreciated the security at the property entrance & access to a covered parking spot. The main issue to consider is the fact that a condo has neighbours - some of whom have dogs that bark and/or enjoy family gatherings at a volume not conducive to sleep on a Saturday night. Otherwise, it’s a good option for activities in and around Santa Ana & San Jose.

It is a very healthy area, easily moves where you want to go and everything is within reach, restaurant and shops in general

I stayed at Manu’s jungle loft for 3 weeks and had a wonderful time. The space is comfortable and rustic, with wonderful views and a very comfortable bed. The beaches nearby are some of the best in the world, and it’s very easy to walk to nearby restaurants or grab a TukTuk any time. Manu and Lucas were kind and gracious hosts. I hope to stay again!

Gissel's house is a cute jungle home! The green yard in the front is super peaceful and the front patio is an awesome place to hang out during any time of the day. It's also well located just a minute away from the Costanera so you can easily access Uvita or Domi when needed.

Even though it is a little far from the beach it has a convenient location, minutes away from restaurants, gyms and supermarkets. Clean place, the kitchen is spacious and convenient. Quiet place to rest and relax. There is no air conditioning but it has a fan and the house good natural ventilation. The price is very comfortable and the host is super friendly and pleasant! I recommend it

It's a great place, just what I was looking for

Good value, nice well maintained clean house with an electric gate, perimeter fence and multiple security cameras. Nice sheltered outdoor areas for sitting and dining on a rainy day. There is a river and mountain with tropical forest rising up behind the house. Old style electric shower head. It can be quite hot if you keep the flow of water low. Nice screened windows for good cross ventilation. Quite cool at night so no need for AC. Spent one morning at Blue Falls which was truly amazing. The kitchen had all the necessary utensils, air fryer, microwave and outdoor grill. Ran out of propane for the stove but Daniela sent over a full tank within an hour.

Casa Oropendola is magical – a happy place to be happy in! Everything needed to feel comfortable and at home is right there. It is spotless, spacious and well-equipped. The (fully equipped) kitchen, with panoramic windows looking out onto a landscape of utter beauty, is amazing. Gilbert has created a garden of stunning beauty whose heliconia are constantly visited by hummingbirds. Bird lovers – you will be in paradise here! I downloaded the Merlin app for my stay here and was amazed at the species it picked up. Note reliable wifi for work meetings. Safe - could have left the door unlocked at night - not exaggerating. Potable Spring water from the kitchen tap. Gilbert is the kindest and most generous of hosts. He told me about great places to go and helped me a lot. He goes far above and beyond what I expect, doing everything in his power to make the stay as enjoyable and comfortable as possible. He is just a sincere and kind personality. Laguna Hule is breathtaking. Great hikes!

Sabrina & Edu couldn’t have been better hosts! Their “end of the world” paradise is quiet & peaceful. Their home cooked meals were delicious & plentiful. The bungalows had thick netting so we could feel the cool night air as we slept. It was fabulous to wake up to all of the birdsongs every morning, They made a special effort to show us birds & animals. We really enjoyed the use of their boat to explore the River where their diverse ecosystem shines in the jungle. We also liked taking the boat on the lagoon to the beach. If you want a quiet and peaceful getaway, this is the place. However, Sabrina is happy to help you with any tours (and there are quite a few to choose from). We will always treasure our time here. :)

This was our family’s 5th trip to Pavones . We like to try different places and locations . Giselle’s home was beautiful , spacious and very comfortable. We had a smaller group and it didn’t feel overwhelming as it’s a big place . Outdoor spaces were amazing , and a quick walk to essentially a private beach . (Only saw 1 person over 8 days ) a short walk to La Pina restaurant for a pizza or dinner and only 3-5 minutes from various spots near Pavones point. I will say this was perhaps the most well equipped kitchen and linens we have experienced yet . Oliver the caretaker was quite helpful and his English is fair . Overall a very positive experience.
