Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Qasr El Nil

I can't say enough good things about our stay at Houseboat65. I was there with five other folks - a couple & their two kids (8 & 11) and another single person. We had the three apartments on the second floor — perfect. I got lucky and slept in a gorgeous three-room space surrounded by windows, which filled the room with light. We spent a lot of time on the Nile-facing porches, chatting and having cocktails. It felt like our own little slice of calm and peace in busy Cairo. Jerome and the amazing Marie (we love you, Marie!) were beyond responsive: anything we needed (and that wasn't much: these spaces are well-stocked) or any time we needed assistance with luggage, etc., they were there in a flash. Marie served as our driver and top-notch tour guide for two days and wow - we felt so comfortable and well-taken care of. She knows the city so well and didn't hesitate to take us to some very far-flung locations. We can't WAIT to tell our friends about our stay and hope we get to come back!

Mein Aufenthalt bei Ahmed war großartig! Die Wohnung war sauber, gut ausgestattet und sehr zentral gelegen. Der war ein sehr freundlicher und hilfsbereiter Gastgeber. Ich würde jederzeit wiederkommen und kann die Unterkunft nur empfehlen!

Wonderful stay tucked back from the gate with plants all around. Our flight arrived late on New Year's Eve. Karim was a very gracious host who stayed up past midnight on new year's to welcome us.

Ain was a great, friendly hostess and gave us lots of tips and always helped us if we needed anything 😊 The location is also great, there are good options for eating out or sitting in a street café. There is a small store right downstairs where you can buy water and other small items and the metro station, which we enjoyed using, is within easy reach. Downtown is a nice lively neighborhood where we felt very comfortable ☀️

I had a fantastic experience at this homestay! The place was clean, cozy, and beautifully decorated, making me feel right at home. The host was incredibly kind and gave me great local tips that made my trip even better. The location was perfect—quiet yet convenient. I’d definitely stay here again!

Nadim was a very kind and friendly host. The neighbourhood is very central and convenient to reach many places in Cairo. The apartment was clean and spacious with a nice balcony and two separate rooms. We had a couple of issues with some stuff in the apartment but Nadim provided for it. Most importantly, the best thing was the apartment's value for money, considering the size of the place and the neighbourhood.

Great stay at Hassan’s place. The location is amazing, very close to everything. Also loved how the apartment was well kept and that the shower worked well (not so common in other places I went in Egypt). I hope to stay there again next time I visit Egypt

This is a really nice flat and the host is helpful and accommodating, as well as being an interesting and well-travelled person. Omar's English and French are not just adequate but fully fluent, so communication is easy, and he reacts quickly to any questions. The apartment is really exceptionally quiet for Cairo; this is a rarity! Omar has some nice things and I felt at home here. It is fully equipped with everything you need, but not overstuffed with furniture, so it feels spacious. As others have said, lots of services nearby – bank, small supermarket, excellent restaurant, pharmacy...and ask for details of the ironing man round the corner who will do a lovely job on your shirts or dresses.

I had a wonderful experience renting this flat! The place was exceptionally clean and tidy, making it feel comfortable and welcoming from the moment I arrived. Everything was exactly as described, and it was clear that great care is taken to maintain the space. The host was incredibly kind and helpful—always available to answer questions and made the entire process smooth and stress-free. I would absolutely recommend this flat to anyone looking for a great stay!

Très bel apparement entièrement rénové et climatisé dans le vieux Caire à 10-15 min à pied de la place Tahrir. Le gardien de l’immeuble est très gentil et accueillant. L’immeuble a 3 ascenseurs. De nombreux restaurants et magasins dans la rue et les rues voisines. Je me suis toujours senti en sécurité dans le quartier jour comme nuit. L’emplacement permet de vivre pleinement la vraie vie Égyptienne. Hoda est une hôte bienveillante, réactive et disponible à tout moment. Elle nous fournit plein de renseignements sur la ville. Pour les prises en charge des excursions (que ce soit avec get your guide ou directement avec les agences locales) le quartier est comprit, contrairement à d’autres quartiers où il faut payer des suppléments pour la prise en charge.

This must have been one of the most beautiful AirBnBs I've ever stayed in. High ceilings, well curated decor, quality furnishings in an apartment sited in a charming building with famous past residents of Egypt high society. We stayed 1 week as a family and had lots of space to navigate, and discover many unique art pieces and details in the space. Garden City was lovely for walking around and a central point for exploring both Cairo and Giza. The neighbourhood was very busy with lots of honking heard throughout the day, but truly this is hard to avoid in Cairo. Plus there was a neat noise machine in the room for those who may need -- a lovely touch! Only frustration was the hot water in the shower, as it was gas-powered and quite tricky maintaining a consistently warm shower. Nevertheless, Charlene was very helpful in trouble-shooting and following up on our comfort levels. Overall, I very much appreciated the thoughtful details and soft place to rest in Cairo.

Great place to stay: very central location, very clean, apartment is bigger than I thought based on the pictures, supermarkets around the corner, surprisingly quiet at night for downtown Cairo. Thank you very much!
