Camp on Raber Bay

Come an enjoy the outdoors and relax at our family’s camp. We want to share our experiences with others. We still use it at times. Lots of wildlife in the area and to hear at night when your sitting by the fire. Boat ramp is 1/2 mile away to fish for walleye, bass, pike. Atv trails near by too. There’s 2 restaurants/bars and country stores within 3 miles. A trail that leads down to the water. It’s more of a rustic experience and for an outdoorsy person. Island Oasis nestled in Trees

Anne’s place was perfect for the four of us. Her little, newly renovated home was solely ours. It’s clean and inviting. The living room was comfy for all of us. Everything we needed to cook, clean up, games to play. We literally came with nothing, but, it didn’t matter everything we could have ever needed was/is there. Anne and her daughter were welcoming and lovely. They made sure we had everything we needed before they left. I would highly recommend this home away from home.

I’m already planning another trip to the UP JUST so we can stay here again. Everything was perfect. The place was REALLY clean, the fire pit out back was so nice, the beds were comfortable and the showers were lovely. The attention to detail is just top notch. This is for sure one of the top 5 places I’ve ever stayed. Thank you for everything!!

Fisherman's Paradise- Freighter Watching

My wife Linda and I stayed at Fisherman's Paradise/Freighter Watch September 4-22, 2024. We were there mainly to do fishing in the St. Mary's River and Lake Huron. With on site launch, boat hoist/dock, and fish cleaning it is by far the best rental property we have found in the area. We have stayed on Sugar, Nebbish, and Drummond Island and none of places we have stayed could compare. The area is peaceful and quiet, there is ample wildlife in and around the area, we saw eagles, mink, beaver, and many other bird species. A couple nights around the full moon we heard several coyotes howling. As other reviewers have noted the freighter watching gets to be obsessive(we even saw several cruise ships during our stay). We would recommend that you get on the Boatnerd website. This website has information on all the ships that are seeing. We found the house to be comfortable. The kitchen has pretty much everything that you may need for your meal preparation. Tara and Rob are great host.

We had a great time at the cottage on the river. It was very private and peaceful with lots of ships going by. It is close enough to walk to the parks and town area. The cottage itself is a wonderful mix of eclectic furnishings and decorations. After 10 days here I still don’t think we noticed all of the details. It was fun each day finding something interesting that we hadn’t seen yet. We would recommend Brenda’s cottage as a nice relaxing place where you can explore the eastern U.P.
