Sangomore Headland, Durness. North coast 500

KrisRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
After lots of research and consideration, we don’t think we could have found anything better. The location is fantastic — right next to an award-winning beach on the northwest corner of the NC500, where the scenery, in our opinion, is the most spectacular. Without even using the car, there was so much to explore: different beaches, cliffs, caves, and wildlife. We were lucky enough to see a group of dolphins! The house was very clean, well-maintained, and thoughtfully prepared for guests. The size was perfect, and the kitchen was well equipped. Communication with the hosts was excellent, with lots of helpful information provided both before and after our arrival. Evenings by the fire and the views from the living room made for a perfect end to each day. There was plenty of space around the house for the kids to play and for parking cars. A local bar is just two minutes' walk away. The only problem our seven nights stay went too quick. Two families from Poland 8 people in total. Thanks

Handa pod in scottish highlands.

IanRating, 5 stars1 month ago
This pod was an amazing find and one of surprisingly few options available in this area. Everything was as expected from the photos/description and overall very well equipped. A radiator plus a separate AC unit will keep the pod comfortable no matter the season. Enough appliances for basic cooking if required too (though if you're only staying a couple of night, no real need to). We stayed with our toddler (brought our own travel cot) and there was just about enough space to make it work. Our advice would be try to avoid staying in this area on a weekend as a lot of stuff locally is closed e.g. the Handa Island Ferry and Crofters Kitchen restaurant are both closed on Sunday plus the Shorehouse kitchen is closed Saturday and Sunday. The Campsite in Scourie is the closest amenities including a shop that sells freshly baked pizza and a bar. Lots of amazing walks, beaches and views close by. Overall, would recommend for anyone coming to the area.

Oldshoremore Croft Cabin (Green)

Loved our stay in Oldshoremore! Such a peaceful spot and we spent so much time exploring the property including the rocky cove and walking the hills, sand dunes and beach. Enjoyed a dip at Oldshoremore beach at sunset which will forever be a core life memory. ❤️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 We had the beach entirely to ourselves for hours and it was incredible! Very comfy bed and house had what we needed. Thank you!!

TIGH CEIT (Kate's House) a traditional croft house

StefanRating, 5 stars5 days ago
Very nice typical Scottish cottage. With the best view and visits from red deer and sheep. Very well equipped with modern kitchen and bathroom. Parking directly in front of the back door. Thanks to Donald's detailed description/ tips, it is very easy to find your way around the house and surroundings.

We thoroughly enjoyed at Sandwoodway Cottage. The cottage was well-equiped and was an excellent base for exploring northwest Sutherland. We look forward to returning.

Luxury self-catering log cabin at Assich Zen Lodge

HollyRating, 5 stars1 day ago
This place is a gem! After 12 days of non-stop travel, we scheduled a down day at this beautiful location to relax and unwind and boy did we hit the jackpot. The location is serene and beautiful and we were lucky to get some great weather. It was exactly what we needed...we never left the property and cooked dinner and had a night in to recharge. Stephen thought of everything down to the spices in the kitchen. The hot tub was perfectly hot for us after dinner and we fell asleep in the comfortable bed early and slept for nearly 9 hours! I wish we could have stayed longer!
