Holiday rentals with a kayak in Rideau River

We gathered three families together and the space was perfect. It was colder than we had hoped for but the hot tub was amazing. The house is cross listed through Airbnb and their own private site making communication a bit cumbersome but otherwise generally responsive and pleasant. Tons of water toys and just a great spot!

Esther’s place was exactly as listed. We were in Ottawa for the weekend to attend d a wedding and the place worked out perfectly for us.

A beautiful location with wonderful outside space. The lake is great for kayaking and swimming off the dock. Very good communication from the hosts.

Angela's place is great for a group getaway, she was helpful and easy to communicate with.

Beautiful space and great location for our crew that was working in Kemptville. Easy to find and get back and forth. Definitely recommend if you are looking for a place in the area.

This cabin was an absolute dream for our mothers' first visit to Canada! We were looking for something special, and this place exceeded all expectations. The location was ideal – a perfect blend of natural beauty and proximity to the city. What truly amazed us was how much more beautiful it was in person compared to the already great photos. The serene lake view, the perfectly stocked kitchen, and the immaculate cleanliness all contributed to an unforgettable stay. You can feel the warmth and care in every detail. The hosts were also fantastic, with quick and kind communication. They even helped us retrieve keys we'd accidentally left behind! We can't wait to return and highly recommend this incredible retreat.

If you are going out in that area and looking for a place to stay, highly recommend. Place is just as the pictures show. Very clean.

Some places are just houses. Others hold space and pause. From the first moment we walked in, "The River Retreat" welcomed us like a warm hug. My siblings and I came here to honour the one-year anniversary of our mother’s passing, and it ended up being exactly what we needed. Peaceful, cozy, and full of thoughtful touches. Every room, view, and amenity gave us a chance to breathe, reflect, and spend quality family time together. We tried all the amenities, including the hot tub, canoe, kayaks, fire pit, and pool table. But our favourite pass time and location was definitely the home cooked meals around the round table overlooking the river. We left feeling full in every sense. Thank you Marlene and Morgan for being such fantastic hosts! We’ll absolutely be back.

This is a lovely house in a beautiful location! Lots of things to do outside and fully equipped kitchen and large bedrooms inside. The only issue (and it's clearly stated in the description) but not having a washing machine was definitely a drawback. We enjoyed our time and could have stayed longer!

Kiara was a great host. Friendly approachable , attentive and proactive. Her home is lovely, the surroundings were beautiful and the docks were well maintained , which was a plus , as we brought our boat to explore the river and spent tons of time watching otters, eagles, herons, fish ( and fishermen floating by!) from the dock. The beds and sheets were luxurious, which was so very welcome as we stayed for two weeks. I read in the reviews about the “bonus goats” and chickens but truly didn’t recognize how important they are to encouraging relaxation !! Loved the whole experience. Thank you, thank you!

Есть камин , можно насладиться прекрасной атмосферой. Внутри нас ждал сюрприз много вкусняшек и видов кофе и чая. Отдых был сказочным. Дженифер невероятно приятная и отзывчивая.Планируем сюда вернуться опять.

The Row Cottages are an absolute gem! I’m so glad we found them - we will certainly be return guests. Very inviting and peaceful. Gives one the chance to reconnect and get priorities in order. We will definitely be returning. Thank you Becky and Josh, and hugs to the most awesome Golden Retriever ever, I believe his name is Teddy. He joined my husband in the lake for swim and was very entertaining.

This place is really lovely, peaceful and quiet. The grounds are gorgeous and everything in the home was really well stocked and nicely furnished. Just a note that it was cold and we didn’t use the screened in dining/living area. It is open air, so be mindful. We would recommend! Great remote getaway!

Wow. The views of the lake from from this place are absolutely stunning! We had a great time and were very comfortable here. We loved the hot tub and the kayaks and paddle boards that were provided for use on the lake. I would definitely stay here again if I was looking for a tranquil place near Ottawa.

Dayna and David are INCREDIBLE hosts. They took care of every detail and looked after us when we were effectively snowed in. Their home is creative, beautiful, peaceful, spacious. I could not have asked for a better place to stay. The whole neighbourhood is gorgeous and talk about lovely people! We want to come back in the summer. And the sauna! Let me tell you, in the winter, this was the sweetest treat. I cannot say enough positive things about our experience and how we were treated - like close friends. They get my highest recommendation.

John’s place is excellent! It’s really well kept and thoughtfully set up for essentials and everything in between. It’s a beautiful location- the private dock by the lake was the highlight of our trip. We stayed for 3 nights and we wished we had it longer. We miss it already and would love to be back.

Our long weekend at this charming cottage was nothing short of magical. Tucked away in a serene and tranquil location, the peaceful ambiance was a welcome retreat from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The cottage itself exuded warmth and character, adorned with delightful local decorations that truly captured the essence of the area. It felt like a home away from home, with every corner telling a unique story. One of the highlights was undoubtedly the picturesque view of the lake right in front of the cottage. Waking up to the gentle sounds of nature and the sight of the tranquil waters was a truly enchanting experience. But what truly set this experience apart was the host. From the moment we arrived, they went above and beyond to ensure our stay was nothing short of perfect. Their responsiveness, kindness, and genuine hospitality made us feel incredibly welcome and valued.

We stayed at La Belle Denis cabin and it was literally as presented in the picture. The cabin is warm in winter with hot water ! Perfect for a weekend gateway. We love the quietness in winter and the trail on the property. We hope to comeback in Summer to check out the lake! Shu

We had such a great stay at this place! Super calm, peaceful, and surrounded by trees with an awesome view of the lake. Mornings were especially lovely, with the harmony of birdsong adding to the relaxing atmosphere. The sauna and hot tub were a big bonus and really added to the relaxation vibe. It’s in a beautiful green area, away from the noise of city life, but still just about 20 minutes from stores and local spots. We also loved the little extras like kayak, projector, and all the games and board games definitely made our family time even more fun. The team was super responsive and helpful, answering all our questions quickly. My family and I really enjoyed our time here, thank you for everything Breathe Vacation Rentals!

We loved it! The cottage is located in a private area on the lake, well-decorated, and has 4 levels making it very spacious. The hottub and sauna were awesome - perfect for our winter stay. We liked the couch in the downstairs living room as it was big and comfortable, and we appreciated the Roku for easy streaming. We had no issues driving to the cottage even after heavy snowfall - the private road and driveway were cleared. Walkways, stairs and decks were also cleared. Plenty of room outside for walks with a dog and other activities. We would highly recommend Siobhan’s cottage!

I wish I could give 1000 stars. His little slice of heaven on the lake in the woods was amazing. He was an amazing host. We will definitely be back and we are going to bring out daughter next time.

Pretty view of the Rideau River. Quiet spot to relax, take a stroll around the neighborhood. The kitchen had everything that was needed to cook. Comfy bed with a great view.

We had a lovely two nights during winter at the cabin. The wood stove made it warm and cozy, and the nature around the cabin was peaceful. The cabin has everything to make your stay easy and enjoyable. The hosts were very responsive and helpful.

Very clean and cozy cabin, the host was very helpfull and had clear instructions. The ability to dock my boat right at the property was a bonus. Fishing was great on the lake, the average size of pike and bass are small but very good for someone with young kids that have short attention spans as the lake is infested with little rock bass that are easy to catch. The cabin is very clean and has everything you need. The highway nearby might be the only downside to this place but it didn't bother us during our stay. I would book again.
