Holiday rentals with beach access in River Thames

It was a lovely apartment, beautifully clean, and with all the amenities we needed. Low ceilings in one bedroom and doorways, but you can tell that from the photos. A useful thing to know is that the two bedrooms are railroad style; in order to reach the double bedroom you have to pass through the two twin rooms (they're separated by the dressing room, but the stairway is in one room and accessible only through that room). This might not be a problem for a family, but we were adult friends sharing a place, and if we'd known that one room would have no privacy, we'd have made different plans. Otherwise, everything about this stay was perfect, and I give it five stars for that. Thank you!

The apartment is lovely - the beds are comfortable, it feels spacious and the kitchen is well equipped. It’s in a great location and has a beautiful view of the Estuary which really made the stay special. Trevor was very helpful, the welcome information gave us everything we needed to know and there was a kind touch of leaving biscuits and milk for us when we arrived, along with there being coffee and tea, etc available. A super Airbnb, would highly recommend and I’m sure we’ll be back. Many thanks Trevor!

My friend and I stayed with our two 17 year old daughters. plenty of space and a lovely apartment. I particularly enjoyed the balcony off the kitchen. very nice for outdoor coffee and breakfast !

Just book it right now if it’s available! Frances is the best host I’ve ever dealt with, friendly, responsive, provided excellent guidance and met all our needs with flexibility and care. The flat is in a lovely walkable neighborhood just minutes walk from the train station with a fantastic pub right outside your door. If you can tear yourself away from that view of the Thames, it’s a short train hop to everywhere you want to go, and the showers provide the hottest water at the end of the day and super comfy beds for rest. You can’t ask for more than this cozy flat to start and end your days from. Thank you Frances for sharing your property, we sure hope to be back and wouldn’t dream of staying anywhere else!

Stayed in this lovely loft for a few days on a trip to Southend. Felt very homely and had everything we could have needed. Great that the tv was all set up with the apps and easy to watch all the streaming services, and games and books available if we fancied a night in. Cupboard was stocked with essentials for cooking and the coffee and biscuits were a nice touch. Would definitely recommend and would stay again.

It was very homely and all the furnishing are top quality compared to most other air bnb and we just felt very at home and comfortable. I’ll be staying again when I’m in Leigh on sea

Here's a review based on your experience: We had a fantastic stay in this lovely flat near the O2! Check in was super simple. Everything we needed was provided, and the towels and bedding were great. The bed was super comfortable, making for a great night's sleep. The location was perfect, and we loved the nearby pub within walking distance. Highly recommend!

What a beautiful place to stay - right next to a nature reserve, with the oyster catchers and curlews calling at night and wildlife wandering into the garden. But also very close to pubs, coffee shop and the sea. Great if you like birds, wildlife and peace and quiet.

From the moment we stepped inside River House Rye we knew that we had chosen he right place ! A real home from home, but with a unique design that we simply wouldn't dare to do ... such a great place to stay and so easy to explore Rye without moving the car off the very spacious drive ! Globe pub very close by, provided ideal location to eat & refresh as did other places that Helen recommended. Even a little drizzle couldn't spoil our visit .... simply fantastic! We will definitely return 🫶

Exceeded our expectations despite being beautifully presented. They bought us a bottle of champagne for our birthday and were extremely flexible and accommodating. Loved our stay thank you Marta and team.

We had the most marvelous stay at Frida’s place. Far enough away from the center of London to feel like you’re in the country, but close enough to just get on a bus right outside and be in the center of things in 25 minutes. There were three of us and the bedrooms are far enough apart from each other that you can be away from the other people in the house very easily, but commune when you want to. We cooked a lot. The kitchen was great. Used the downstairs outside space a lot to have coffee or to talk or to have beautiful dinner …gorgeous roses right there helped make the atmosphere beautiful. The location of this house is so perfect .. you walk literally three steps and you are at the bus stop. There are a number of different buses that stop there so you can get pretty much anywhere. The tube is about a 12 minute walk and that’s not far. We had a couple of small issues with the hot water, but Frida responded immediately and things were taken care of. I would stay here again !!

Lovely property well kept, made for a great base to explore the local area on foot and bike. Enjoyed paddle boarding on the lake.

We had a lovely time at Karl's place, the location is great for quick access to the beach, and there's also lots of other good things to explore in the local area such as RSPB Dungeness, the Pilot Inn and the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch railway. For us, what was really great was the ample provision for babies/toddlers with abundant and interesting toys to play with, a high-chair, stair-gates, baby carrier, socket protectors etc. Which really made the whole experience of travelling with a 1.5-year old much easier. The garden is great too with lots to enjoy and a good amount of shade. And the nautical theme to the house really makes for a fun "holiday by-the-beach" feel.

We had a lovely stay at Hilary's place. It was comfortable and had everything we needed. Hilary kindly put out a travel cot and high chair for our 1 year old as well. It's right next to the beach. So we enjoyed popping over to the vast golden sandy beach multiple times a day. Would recommend!

What a beautiful place to stay. We sunbathed, played games on the beach and chilled out on the verandah all weekend - it was perfect for a group of friends! When booking, we hadn’t realised there was no road access to the house (our oversight!!), so this is worth bearing in mind. You will need to carry bags etc across the beach or sand dunes to get to the house. The house is evidently a much loved family home and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in an absolutely beautiful location.

This is a lovely flat with everything you could want for a very comfortable stay. David and Lisa are quick to respond to any questions or requests and most accommodating. The flat is clean, charming and convenient to the beach, train station and shops.

The location was perfect, it couldn't have been more central and a great place to people watch. The apartment was lovely, I wish we'd been able to spend more time there but there was so much to do out and about. Sam was so helpful and responsive and made sure we were happy with everything throughout the booking/checking in process, she gave us some great tips as well. I would definitely recommend staying here.

I am a heavy travellers . I stayed so many places before. Hotels or flats. Aniesha’s flat is like a five star hotel suite! Very modern and stylish. The building is only 1.5years old. Very clean and the location is very convenient just in front of railway station and near supermarket and shopping center. Lots of restaurants nearby. It makes me feel like home. Thank you Aniesha! Aniesha is a very nice host. I already look forward to coming back again! Wish a merry Christmas and Happy new year.

Chris & Hilary were wonderful hosts, they were very proactive and made sure we had every bit of detail about the property and its surroundings. The property is beautiful and clean and its located within short walking distance from the beach. We also loved the private park garden which was our pull factor to the property. Check-in and checkout process was very easy and straightforward. The Internet speed was great and the bed is very comfy. Me and my wife tried to think of any room for improvement to feedback to the hosts and we struggled to come up with anything. We definitely found our holiday home in Southend-on-Sea and we cant wait to stay there again. Thank you Chris & Hilary!

Had a great stay at this apartment, was spotless and very nicely designed. The location is brilliant. A nice square full of restaurants, pubs and right on the Thames. Good communication throughout from James.

This apartment was immaculate and in a beautiful location easily accessible by two different tube lines. The host Mohammad was proactive and detail oriented, readily accessible and very accommodating. Highly highly recommend this property and hope to be back soon!

Had a lovely stay. Flat was just as described. Love that there was Netflix as well as other channels on the tv. Lovely garden area, we ate breakfast outside. Just one thing that I think would be helpful for families with small children staying, maybe a small step for the bathroom as my 3 year old couldnt reach the sink to wash hands and brush teeth.
