Just about as good as it gets! In a beautiful garden setting with lily ponds. The garden room has its own kitchen and everything you could need is provided. The bed is comfortable and the unit is superclean. No TV but take a book and watch the butterflies on the buddlea instead.

What an amazing find, superb location, peaceful, classy and very comfortable. All the staff were very nice/helpful/friendly and the food couldn't have been better. Sadly no bath in our room but a great nights sleep on a gorgeous bed. Took a lovely country walk opposite the property and ended up going three miles round which was nice to explore the countryside.

We had the most lovely stay at the Queen Philllipa. The hotel is exceptionally clean and we were having a great giggle with the girls who do the cleaning, they were teally lovely. All of the staff were so accommodating and conscientious. We were given some flexibility around check in and lots of good knowledge of the local area. The hotel decor and attention to detail was really beautiful and the breakfast was super tasty. Really great value for money. The front of house receptionist was so helpful and polite, we will definitely be planning another trip soon. X

Joan was a lovely, welcoming host, helped me park my large van on the driveway when I arrived and helped me with directions into town for work. House was warm, bed was comfy and WiFi worked great too!

Wonderful little B&B situated on the island, Victoria was incredibly helpful throughout our stay. Breakfast was particularly delicious (with plenty of options) and watching the ducks and chickens roaming the garden provided great entertainment! Would recommend to anyone looking to stay in the area.

Excellent. Accommodation was brilliant. Room was spotless. Garden was very clean and relaxing. Breakfast was delicious and so much of it... Hosts were extremely welcoming, helpful and friendly (even Teddy the dog) and asking if everything is OK.. So homely and made the stay all so special. Thank you.

Tim is a thoughtful and charming host. The Old Coach House is an amazing place with its history and amazing murals. Great to get to spend some time in such a tucked away treasure.

Such a lovely peaceful spot in the countryside. we only stayed a night as we had a nearby wedding, but would happily stay longer. Breakfast was a lovely touch also. Highly recommended

Excellent Host, very kind. She provided extra toys for our 1 year old. There is a huge extra "play" room with large tv, pooltable where we could enjoy some quality time with our family. The room was clean and cosy with it's own bathroom. I recommend it to everyone to stay here

Great environment, great host, great experience.

Celest welcomed us to her home and it was such a pleasant stay! Our room was clean. Linens were fresh. All amenities are provided. Breakfast was absolutely stellar with cheese board, toast, yogurt and other food we can't remember. View from the breakfast table was a cherry on top. Celest even went out of her way to lend us a walking guide book which we had followed. We were extremely happy with everything. I would definitely recommend this stay to anyone looking for a quiet holiday with a friendly host.

Donna is very friendly, accommodating, easy going and readily available host. we enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this if you are looking for a place in Chelmsford.
