Family-friendly holiday rentals in Rome

While the access road is not for the faint of heart and more closets/clothing storage is needed, the cabin was very clean, well-stocked and organized. There were plenty of movies to choose from and a big firepit to enjoy. The property manager, Mike, was very responsive, knowledgeable and helpful. All in all, the cabin is a lovely place to spend a few days relaxing and enjoying the incredible view.

Chris’s place was exactly what we were looking for! It rained 2/3 days which was absolutely fine because we had the hot tub and the relaxing cabin to hang out in. We were close enough to some restaurants and we drove to Saratoga Springs for lunch on Saturday which was also beautiful. The drive was about 55mins but not a bad drive in the beautiful scenery. We had a fire Saturday night and the fire pit area was perfect. It had some soft lights outside around the fire pit which made for a great ambiance. Chris was very friendly and helpful! Will definitely make a trip here again :)

I had a wonderful weekend and would highly recommend staying here. My mother and I went up for some peace and relaxation and, even raining all weekend, we both immensely enjoyed ourselves. The cabin was beautiful! The screened in porch, skylights, and fire pit made the environment perfect. Chris was extremely responsive on any and all questions I had in regards to what I could expect when getting to the cabin and made sure that everything was laid out clearly for us on arrival so we had very little questions on checking in/out and expectations while there. You are attached to Moose Cabin, and sometimes we could tell people were in the area when someone laughed too hard, but even that close, we never really heard the people next to us and never once saw them though we were outside often. It was definitely affordable and worth the money considering I felt at home with all the personal effects but had a hotel level of cleanliness.

Matt was great and so were his accommodations! Really nice guy, very communicative, would stay again in a heartbeat!

Amo's house was beautiful, comfortable and easy to be in. He was very responsive to any questions and extremely accommodating. The grounds are ample for the children to enjoy in many ways. Sleeping accommodations were perfect for our large family and everyone was happy. We hope to return next year.

We took a weekend trip as a group of busy moms. We went away to find peace and be in nature and thats exactly what we got. The house was in great shape and well maintained.

Ryan’s place was beautiful and peaceful. It was perfect for children as the yard is fenced in and non hazardous for young children. Hot tub was perfect house was spotless with all the necessities you would need for day to day. It was a perfect peaceful weekend away with my friends and children. Ryan was the perfect host who communicated clearly and very responsive. Will visit again

We just left and I’m ready to book again! This cabin was extremely secluded and peaceful. Host was helpful and friendly. The pictures and description matched exactly what you get, except that it’s even more beautiful in person. Truly a hidden treasure and will now be my go-to spot to stay in NY. I was super sad to have to leave, but I’ll definitely be back!

We were only in town for one night, but had an absolutely phenomenal stay. The basement apartment was clean and comfortable, and you could tell that Rebecca has a true passion for hospitality. From board games to a small library of books, the space was so well stocked. We enjoyed lounging in the room, almost as much as getting out and exploring Syracuse! Check-in was smooth and the house rules were straightforward and logical. Thanks for the 5 star stay. Bookmarked for future trips :)

The house was extremely nice, well appointed and beautifully decorated. Great space for two couples with the two king beds and two full bathrooms. Very clean and comfortable. Kitchen well stocked with glasses, dishes, and cooking equipment. Great location being just a mile from the center of town for shopping and restaurants. We would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful, spacious cottage with everything we needed! The hosts were very responsive and we enjoyed our stay! Access to the lake wasn't quite what we had hoped, but overall the location and space were excellent.

This was my second time staying at the lodge, and it was great! It's a beautiful place, clean, quiet, and relaxing. The lodge has a very well-stocked kitchen, the beds are comfortable, and the fireplace and hot tub are spectacular. The host is also communicative, helpful, friendly, and easy-going. I will be back again!

Dave's property was the perfect choice for our overnight trip to Cooperstown with another couple. Located on a quiet country road, it's only a couple of miles to the Hall of Fame in one direction and Ommegang Brewery in the other. The house was spotless and very comfortable, and has been totally updated with everything one needs. Highly recommend!

Great place for a weekend get away.

They were very good people who took care of all my needs to make my stay enjoyable. I would stay there again. The next time I go in that area.

Our extended family of 8 stayed here for Colgate's 2025 graduation weekend. The location was definitely further away than I wanted (not the host's fault of course) but it ended up working out great. Door to door it's a 35 minute drive, so while we weren't able to go 'back and forth' as much as if we were staying closer, it was a great place to wake up in and return 'home' to at the end of the day's events. There was plenty of room for two sets of grandparents, two siblings and the grad's parents. We loved making coffee and breakfast in the morning and enjoying the absolutely glorious view from the house, plus the kitchen table was a fun end of day gathering spot for us all. Shawn was communicative and accommodating, especially when one pair of guests were way ahead of arrival time, allowing them to enter the property early. I had not been aware of DeRuyter or the lake prior to this, but am glad we had the opportunity to enjoy this home and the area!

A best-ever Airbnb experience for graduation weekend. Clearly this would be a suitable venue for a variety of event types. It might be the greatest reception barn of the world, we looked in though didn’t use or need it for our small group. It was a super choice for our overnight stay and hosting a few friends and family members of the graduates. All felt welcome as if at a private home and farm. The host was friendly and helpful.

Mike was a wonderful host. He greeted us when we arrived and showed us around the place. He was very kind and thoughtful. The place was just as described and met our needs perfectly. Definitely recommend

Rob's home is directly across the street from Cooperstown Dreams Park and was the perfect spot for us to watch our 12 year old play. I could easily run my parents home between games to cool off in the A/C. The pool was a welcome spot for several of the boys on the team and the coaches. Rob was very kind, and welcoming. A perfect stay for any family playing at Dreams Park!

Mark’s place was a quick 2 minute drive to the ball park and Maskots restaurant. The kids had a fantastic time in the pool and everything was kid friendly including the safety gates with alarms for the deck/pool area. Mark was very responsive and helpful with great recommendations to eat and for entertainment! Thank you Mark for the great time in Cooperstown⚾️💚🖤

We booked the house for its distance to Cooperstown. And it was just as far as he advertised and well worth the few extra moments to the Dream Park. He accommodated us with a very early check in of 3am the day of. And I only texted at 2am with the request. I was shocked that he even responded, let alone met us at the house to let us in and give us a “midnight” tour. It was extremely accommodating and welcoming. He did charge a small fee, as expected of course. Then I got to tour this beautiful, historic, huge, full of love home. The amount of different rooms each filled with a colorful chapter in a fabulous novel you don’t want to put down. I was blown away. Everything he describes was accurate. The a/c upstairs only. But honestly, Tom told is to leave the windows downstairs open at night and it provides such a beautiful breeze and keeps the house warm during the day. I wish to come back next year and just not leave the house other than to hike and go in the pool. Wildlife amazing too
