Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Rotherfield

We stayed here for a week during our cycling trip in Kent and East Sussex. What a great choice! A perfect starting point for beautiful walks and cycling day trips. Also a very quiet and pretty environment to relax. A wonderful courtyard with stunning climbing rose bushes and verbena. Sheep, cattle, chickens and koy fish around, and of course the dogs. The cottage is spacious and has everything you need. It is one of the very few holiday homes we've been with a perfect shower, high quality kitchen equipment, good quality pots and pans in all sizes and numbers, really sharp knives etc. And if you still miss anything, just ask James. We were happy with the provided essential breakfast stuff on arrival. And flowers. James, a perfect host who made us feel very welcome.

We really enjoyed our stay. The property was lovely and light, in a beautiful area, which was quiet and very peaceful. We slept well in the extremely comfortable beds. The garden was much larger than we expected (photos don’t really do it justice), it was very secure for young children. We thoroughly enjoyed the forest walk from the cottage. It’s a shame pets aren’t allowed, as we would love to return with our small dog. We did have to drive to shops for groceries, but that wasn’t really a problem. All-in-all, a perfect setting for a restful break. Highly recommend.

Daniela’s cottage had the perfect size and layout for our little family reunion. It was very clean, tidy and beautiful, which made our holiday special. We particularly enjoyed the garden with its bbq, the well equipped kitchen and the proximity with the Ashdown forest, farm shops and Hever castle. Beds are comfortable which makes it easy to rest. Daniela was very helpful and kindly offered some lovely biscuits for our arrival :) I very much recommend this place and I would love to come back!

Always the most relaxing time away at Gaye's. It has become our regular bolt hole and little Haven. Gaye is an extremely welcoming and helpful host with the most beautiful property. Another perfect few days away, thank you Gaye

Spent 6 pleasant days at Littleshaw Cottage. Although we went in June the evenings were chilly but the underfloor heating in the cottage kept us warm. All the things we needed, and more, for a comfortable stay were provided. We felt very secure in the cottage as it is in the private grounds of the main house behind a gated driveway. This was our first visit to Kent and there is so much to see. If we returned for another holiday we would like to stay here again.

We loved our stay at Chris’s place. Very cosy cottage with all the amenities you could need. Also delicious scones on arrival! We had a very peaceful and relaxing stay.

Stunning apartment with fantastic views. The apartment has a cosy vibe with a lovely fireplace. A fantastic host, she was quick with responding and made sure we were comfortable and fulfilled our request, all in all 100% recommend booking this gorgeous, cosy place for your countryside getaway, you will not regret it

We loved staying at Fiona's bungalow, it was a real home away from home and we were sad when we had to leave at the end of our stay. The welcome treats were a real bonus and we enjoyed them immensely. Fiona was attentive and stayed in contact with us throughout our stay. The beds were incredibly comfy, we slept very well and even with it having been 30° during the day outside, the rooms were cool enough to be able to sleep through the night comfortably. We'd happily stay at Fiona's again!

Location was perfect and the airbnb was exactly how Angela described it. Lots of places to visit and smack bang in the middle of all the activity. Really enjoyed our stay.

Gorgeous flat on the seafront, with two super comfy bedrooms and beautifully curated art throughout the house - would 100% stay again if I’m ever back in St Leonard’s!

Lovely flat in a fabulous location. Would definitely recommend it. The local area had some lovely open spaces for walking along with some fab restaurants for dining and cocktails. Perfect for a weekend get away.

The air bnb was perfect for what I needed. The location was perfect as it was only 5 minutes from my training facility. Terry showed me around the property and gave me very clear instructions on how to use everything and what was included. I was able to park on the drive and triple lock the door which made me feel very safe and secure. The air BnB had all the amenities I needed and they were kind enough to provide milk, tea etc which was very kind and helpful. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would definitely look to rebook for my training next year. Thank you!

Staying at this beautiful Grade II listed Manor House was truly a memorable experience. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by our lovely host — Jo’s hospitality and warmth made our visit feel like staying with family. The Manor House itself is absolutely stunning — full of character, history, and timeless charm. Each room tells a story, and the period features have been lovingly preserved. Yet, despite the historic setting, all the comforts we needed were provided. The bed was cozy, the surroundings peaceful, and the gardens were a delight to stroll through. What made this stay truly special was our host. Her stories about the house’s history, the village, and her life were fascinating and added such depth to the whole experience. She was incredibly thoughtful, always checking to ensure we had everything we needed — without ever being intrusive. If you're looking for a truly authentic and heartwarming stay in the English countryside, this is it.

Benny was really great with communication as I booked very last minute! She also kindly let me check in much earlier and I also checked out a little later due to my own fault of not realising checkout was at 10am! The place is spotless and is well equipped, there were breakfast items left which was thoughtful and generous of Benny. The location is beautiful and peaceful - lots of cute lambs and ponies and even deer! A short drive takes you into forest row where you have a good selection of shops

We had a great time at Sue’s flat. The decor was super homey , everything was very comfortable, kitchen was very well equipped and the flat was close to the Winnie the Pooh landmarks. Her home made Marmelade is delicious!😋

The flat was ideal for our short stay. All amenities were thoughtfully laid out and all our anticipated needs catered for with a well furnished kitchen and useful local information. The flat was clean throughout. Access was easy with convenient parking right at the door.

Simon was really helpful and available at all times for any queries. He gave great recommendations for local restaurants etc and the place is central with free parking opposite.

Our first Airbnb, it was AMAZING. Sadly only able to stay for two nights. The accommodation was perfect in every way. We didn’t require any of the facilities other than two mugs, a kettle, a bed, and a bathroom as we were in the area to visit relatives for a function, however, there was everything supplied that could possibly be needed for a long holiday. The bedding, and everything else, was spotless. Not a speck of dust anywhere, beautiful white towels. Could not find a single fault at all, and I’m not an easy person to please! Such a peaceful area. We had a great time at Steven's place. The view from the living room is great and the place has all the things you need. Everything in the town was accessible by foot. We can definitely recommend it.

Sonia and Philip’s place is a showcase loft apartment for their successful kitchen design business located in the OpenHaus Kitchens studio below. There are many smart design features. The main room is light filled, private, tasteful and comfortable. Although the busy road noise takes some getting used to, the bedroom is restful. Runners & walkers can head towards Bensonshill Wood. Grocery needs are well met by M&S Food at Pease Pottage Services, good coffee at the Woodgate Hub & pub food at the Black Swan. Delicious wood fired pizzas are served from the Pizzacraft van on Saturdays 5-8pm. We had a very nice stay and highly recommend the Loft.

We absolutely loved our stay here over a long weekend! The accommodation was spotless and very comfortable, with beautiful views to wake up to. Diana was a wonderful host - warm, responsive, and thoughtful throughout our stay. No request was too big or too small, and she welcomed us like we were part of her family. This apartment was one of the most comfortable and considered I have stayed in on Airbnb. Lovingly put together, the interior is attractive and detail orientated, and made us feel very at home. The location couldn't be better, we had a great time and excellent stay.

This was our fourth stay here at David's Annexe which really speaks for itself. It's the gift that keeps giving each time we return. The annexe was spotlessly clean as always ,with all aspects of our stay catered for.We wanted for nothing in the chalet as everything had been thought out carefully. Even dog blankets and doggy treats for those who bring a dog,although we didnt. The weather was beautiful every day,which was a bonus. The bed was so comfortable,and the kitchen area was superb. The milk in the fridge which was waiting for us on arrival,along with the yummy biscuits were really appreciated after a long journey. David and Lisa our hosts as always were more than happy to help out with any request,always with a genuine smile that made such a difference. We want to mention Reggie their lovely dog,who always made us welcome when we sat out on David's private beach on the seats he so kindly made available to us for free use. So in a word it was Utopia.
