  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Mickey's place in Arundel. You cannot beat the location which is in the heart of this lovely town. The apartment was very comfortable and nicely appointed. We loved the light from the big window in the living area. Check-in was a breeze . Highly recommended. We would love to come back some day.

  • Our fourth time staying here. A great base for a weekend of walking, running and eating without the children. One of the best places I’ve stayed.

  • Lovely place, peaceful and comfortable

  • The apartment is comfortable and well positioned in the centre of the town. Though in the centre, it is tucked away and was quiet, even though it overlooks some eateries and we were there over New Year's eve.

Yew Tree cottage is a cosy home away from home, set in the historic centre of Arundel. With a private garden, hot tub, wood burning stove and two cosy double bedrooms, Yew Tree cottage is perfect for a weekend away or for a longer holiday to make the most of Arundel and the beautiful West Sussex countryside.
Open the french doors onto the well-lit courtyard to enjoy your evening meal and/or a quiet soak in the hot tub or, when the weather gets a little too British, cosy up to our wood burning stove in the open plan sitting room. We have a well-equipped kitchen with all the mod cons, including a coffee maker, which makes self-catering easy. An open plan sitting room leads onto a downstairs bathroom with power shower. On the first floor is a double room with jack'n' jill bathroom that links to our nursery, furnished with cot bed and changing table for younger guests (<3). A kingsize bed is on the top floor, enjoying views over the South Downs and river. Excellent wi-fi throughout the house and garden
Based in the centre of Arundel, the cottage is perfect for exploring the town, Arundel castle, antique shops, restaurants and pubs, (one right next door but don’t worry, it’s a lovely quiet wee pub with roaring fires and good beer) or perhaps to hire a boat for a trip along the river Arun. For the more active, Arundel Lido is on the doorstep where you can enjoy the view of Arundel castle while swimming in the heated outdoor pools. The Wildfowl trust is a few minutes walk, as well as tennis courts, putting greens, play ground and boating on Swanbourne lake. Horse riding across the downs, etc... its a great place for families. We are just 20 minutes from Goodwood racecourse, 10 minutes to Climping beach and 10/15 mins from the golf courses at Littlehampton and Worthing. Wittering Beach is 30 mins away where you can kite surf, windsurf or fossil hunt! Perfect for ramblers, hikers, mountain bikers- the cottage lies directly on the Monarchs way and just minutes from the South Downs Way.
  • Fantastic place in the centre of Arundel. A beautiful town with plenty of walks, pubs and shops in easy distance. The hot tub was a brilliant bonus. Clean, tidy and has everything you would need. Would stay again

  • Yew Tree Cottage is the perfect place to stay whilst visiting Arundel. Its only a short walk into the centre and only a short walk from the train station. The hot tub and wood fire were perfect for relaxing in too!

    Paul2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful stay! Beautiful house, clean, comfy bed and linen and beautiful touches like chocolate biscuits. Excellent communication and Antonia is super friendly, too. Will book again without hesitation

    Wendy2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • There were four of us staying there for a weekend and we loved the cottage. It is very cosy, clean and stylish. It has everything you need and even more - gas stove and hot tub are great additions. Big table in the kitchen is very convenient. Kitchen is overall very well equipped so you can easily prepare your meals there if you like. Parking is very close and for short period of time you can also park the car right in front of doors to load/unload which was very helpful. Antonia provided all the information needed in clear way and was replying very quickly. Definitely recommended place and would come back there if we are in the area again.

Colin & Sandra were lovely hosts, taking the effort to meet us on arrival to show us around and saving a car parking space really close to the cottage. They even got us a card for our wedding anniversary! 10/10 will stay again!

Our place is close to Arundel town center which offers many great pubs, restaurants and shops. There are many fabulous countryside walks. Our place is a very homely place to stay, backing onto the River Arun. The Boat House is self contained, offering a bathroom, kitchen area which has no cooking facilities, there is a fridge, kettle, toaster ,crockery, and several places to sit and enjoy the view. Our place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers. No smoking is allowed
Guests will especially enjoy the Summer House because the views across the River Arun are very special including the view of the magnificent Cathederal. There is an outside patio area in the front and back of the Summer House . If you like swans many are to be seen in the river. The river is the second fastest flowing river in the United Kingdom.
Arundel is a wonderful historic town with its Castle, Cathedral and bird sanctuary. There are many individual shops and in Tarrant Street there is Sparks Yard which besides being a shop selling interesting gifts has a great restaurant on the top floor which is excellent for breakfast.A few of the pubs the Eagle and the Red Lion have music featuring great local bands.Beer drinkers are well catered for at the White Hart and the Kings Arms.
  • Fantastic, highly recommend 🙂 Beautiful location and very friendly, would definitely stay again - thank you for having us!

  • A peaceful spot on the river edge and only 10 mins walk to Arundel

    Jenny2019-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • The Boat House is brilliant. It is a little out of town but only a 10 min walk and this makes the place feel tranquil and adds to the stay. Fantastic to be right at the water’s edge. Very hospitable welcoming hosts. Tasteful practical space which has a similar feel to camping but more luxurious- perfect!

    Denise2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • A great base for a couple of nights in and around Arundel. Small, cosy with bags of charm and character!

    Samuel2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • The boathouse is a lovely quaint place to stay and in a fantastic location situation within a short walk of Arundel town centre and the castle. Highly recommend. The hosts were also lovely and gave us plenty of advice on places to eat and things to do in the area.

    Adam2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful private cottage, a real home away from home. Share the riverside atmosphere with the birds and take a stroll into town for sightseeing, delicious food and charming shops. Don't forget your climbing shoes though!

    Maarten2019-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • Great location - less than 10 minutes into Arundel itself. Beautifully decorated boat house, right on the river. Very clean, well set up with anything basic you might need. Highly recommend - would definitely stay here again.

A quiet two-bedroomed bungalow overlooking extensive water meadows that the cows freely roam. Alongside the driveway is a small brook with hedgerows where kingfishers, moorhens, reed warblers and cuckoos can be found. Murmurations of starlings swoop overhead at dusk. A short distance from the historic town centre of Arundel that boasts a castle, cathedral, antique shops and tea rooms. Close by to the beach, river walks, Goodwood, Chichester, Roman villas and beautiful Sussex countryside.
The bungalow is situated near the windmill in Arundel. Giving fabulous views across the fields, a bird watchers paradise. You can wake up to peace and quiet, watching birds flying over the wetlands.
Arundel is a historic town with the Castle and St Nicholas church dating back to Saxon times. Lovely rambling streets with unique shops and restaurants. The river Arun flows through the centre, where merchant tall ships used to sail.
  • Had a really nice stay at Debbie's cottage. Easy check-in, really cosy cottage with nice garden in lovely location.

    Ali2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Great views across fields comfortable beds, log fire, easy walk to town /pub and shops.

    Kevin2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely comfy home which is conveniently appointed to the South Downs. Debbie was very accommodating and special touches such as basic food supplies and a bottle of champagne were very appreciated. The home is very clean, with comfortable beds and sofas. There was a wood fire set for us but we didn’t need it because the central heating was more than adequate. The town of Arundel has many lovely places to eat and is a great stepping stone to great walks in the South Downs

    Juliana2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • The bungalow was wonderful with stunning views. Just a short 15 minute walk in to Arundel, an ideal place to stay! Debbie was an excellent host.

    Hannah2019-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • This place is gorgeous. It feels like you’re out there on your own with all the wildlife next to your windows! Furnishings all a really good standard and so peaceful. We loved it , thank you!

    Fiona2019-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely lovely home, with thoughtful extra homely touches. Easy to find and check in was a breeze. Child-friendly (we have two under 5) and lovely and clean. There were games in a cupboard and Netflix on the tv, and in the summer the garden and BBQ area would be heaven! Even in the Winter it was gorgeous and we watched the sunrise whilst sipping warm cocoa. The host was friendly, responsive and so helpful and gave us great local tips. The location is fantastic, quiet and relaxing but near enough to amenities and fun places to visit. We were well looked after!

    Liz2019-12-24T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely bungalow with everything you need for a comfy stay. The fireplace was a bonus!

    Anne2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • We only had a short stay but it was long enough to see how welcoming and helpful Debbie was as a host. She was really accommodating and flexible and there were some lovely welcoming touches in the fridge and cupboard. The fireplace was a real bonus too after some very long and very wet walks and it made the bungalow feel especially homely. The location is great, nice and quiet but central enough to be convenient. The views from the garden are also lovely. We were there for a wet November weekend and it was great but I can imagine it's a real gem in the spring/summer too.

  • If you’re looking for a comfy, spacious 1 bed flat, then look no further. We stayed in the garden facing flat so perfect for our little family of three. The box of toys (inc. bath toys) were a great touch for our 18 month old and the place was spotless. It’s a shame it was winter otherwise we would have opened the doors and made good use of the garden! Joanne was prompt at responding and I’d highly recommend if you’re looking for a self-catering, good value option.

  • Debora's house is a dream - everything is beautiful and she's a really thoughtful host. Stayed with 3 friends for some hiking in West Sussex, and we all agreed it's the nicest air bnb we've ever stayed in / wanted to move in! Thank you for having us x

    Charlotte2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Wow, just WOW. The house is absolutely beautiful, with an outstanding host to go with it. The location is pefectly situated in walking distance to a number of fantastic pubs, restaurants, cafes and shops. Debora couldn’t have done more for us and was available whenever we needed. Faultless. 10 / 10... cannot wait to stay there again.

    Carly2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • 73 Tarrent Street was the perfect base for a lovely weekend in Arundel with Friends. Particular highlights include the stunning kitchen which was a lovely space to cook and chill out (the underfloor heating is also dreamy) and its location- it's right in the heart of town but isn't too noisy. I'd thoroughly recommend staying here although probably not with small children or people who struggle with stairs as they are quite narrow and steep. -but don't let that put you off it's a little gem of a spot. Debora was a great host - really responsive and accomodating and loads of thoughtful touches. Would definitely come back if we we're ever returning to Arundel.

    Kirsty2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great stay here over the holiday period. Lovely place to stay very centrally in Arundel for 1-2 couples. A lot of care and attention has been paid to the house, which has been finished to a very high standard. Definitely a massive upgrade on staying in a hotel! Debora is a great host, very responsive and adds lots of lovely touches to make your stay memorable. Highly recommended!

    Chris2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Just, wow! What an incredible and host and place. Our first family holiday will be so memorable thanks to Debora. Location was perfect to visit Arundel and Debora was the perfect host. Her place had all the amenities and the added extras, the interior design is to die for. Would highly recommend her place to anyone visiting! We will definitely be back again!

    Natalie-Jane2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful cottage in a great location. Boutique hotel standard. Debora’s a Great host with excellent recommendations for walks and eating out. Decorated the cottage for Christmas. Really special. Highly recommended.

    Debbie2019-12-04T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay. Debora's place is absolutely spotless and newly renovated. We stayed with our 6 month old baby and Debora set up a travel cot for her. This was much better than staying at a hotel!

    Anna-Maria2019-11-29T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed here for the weekend on a girls’ trip with my best friend. We had a lovely time. The house is in a fantastic location, right in the centre of Arundel, and is every bit as stylish as it looks in the pictures. An uncluttered, comfortable home from home with a basement kitchen to dream of! Debora included so many finishing touches - complimentary toiletries, coffee, milk and wine; fresh flowers; chocolates - that made us feel cared for and the whole experience very special. This isn’t the cheapest Air BnB you will find but you get what you pay for and this delivers on all counts. Highly recommended.

Welcoming, light and airy home in Arundel. Private double room and private bathroom (+ single room if 3 traveling together (single rate) Kettle, tv. etc.in your room. Breakfast which is included in the fee is served in large family open plan dining/living room or in the garden if the sun shines! A selection of fresh fruit/meusli/bagels/smoked salmon/toast for breakfast with choice of teas and coffee
1 School Lane is a fairly modern house which is unusually light and airy as the main living area is glass roofed and looks directly out onto the garden. The kitchen, dining and living area form one large open-plan space.
School Lane whilst being in the town centre is really quiet, especially at night. The road is too narrow for lorries so you will not be woken up by delivery trucks. Rather if you were to sleep late in the morning you would most likely be awoken by the chattering of children passing by on their way to the local junior school! Main shops, bars and restaurants are a few minutes walk along a pretty residential street. Like most small towns during busy times on-street parking can be tricky but Arundel has 3 good sized car parks and in School Lane (and many of the surrounding streets) there are no parking restrictions at all...other than the usual yellow line rules. The street is well lit at night.
  • Thank you Karin for having us in your lovely home! The breakfast was delicious and cookies, tea and milk in the room were great touches.

    Stephanie2020-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • An amazing home Karin. Filled with tonnes of character and art, our room was lovely and clean with a very comfortable bed. Karin did an amazing job of making us feel right at hone. We wouldn't hesitate coming back again.

    Chris2020-01-14T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed staying at Karin’s place. The bedroom is delightful, the bed comfy, the shower (in the bath) was hot and strong and the breakfast was the best we’ve ever had in any Airbnb anywhere. Karin was warm, friendly, informative and relaxed. We loved all the art work everywhere and Karin’s love of colour and style made the house an interesting and inspiring environment to spend time in. Karin has thought of everything even providing cookies, tea and coffee in the bedroom, bathrobes, hairdryer and keeping the cats to a confined area. Walking distance to great pub and restaurants and the lovely Gallery 57 round the corner. Would definitely stay again.

Karin was a fantastic host, she is so friendly and accommodating, offering us local tips, making us breakfast, and always making sure we were comfortable. • Dora was a great host who made us feel very welcome. Dora got in contact just before our stay and was very flexible and accommodating with checking in and out. Her detailed instructions made the accommodation very easy to find and it was in impeccable condition. We will certainly be looking at staying there again for another weekend away. Thank you so much.

    Toby2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful surroundings and house to stay in, thoughtful touches like milk in the fridge, fresh flowers in the bedroom made it even more special. Dora was really great at communicating and so accommodating when it ended up being just me staying and not 3 of us! Definitely recommend, she also has another accommodation on site so the two would be perfect for family groups wanting to explore South Downs. I’ll definitely come back!

"The Hideaway" is situated in Houghton, very close to the point at which the South Downs Way crosses the River Arun. The oak framed garden room offers studio style open plan living space with double bed, well equipped kitchenette & separate bathroom. The doors open onto a garden area to enjoy a spot of al fresco dining or simply just to soak up the sun & offer beautiful panoramic views of the South Downs. Houghton is also a mid-way point on the South Downs Way making it the perfect stop over
Located 300 metres from the South Downs Way, the 17sqm studio sleeps 2 very comfortably on a double bed on the ground floor. There is also a mezzanine bunk area accessed via a ladder (restricted headroom) with 2 single floor mattresses so the space would suit couples, 2 nimble friends or even a family with one or 2 small children (albeit at a squeeze!). Please let us know your sleeping configuration preferences at the time of booking. The kitchenette provides a sink, fridge/freezer box, kettle, toaster, microwave and induction hob. A light breakfast of cereals, bread, butter, jams, tea, coffee and milk is provided but if you have any specific requirements upon arrival we will be more than happy to accommodate your request. The bathroom comprises a WC, sink and shower which is stocked with shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, towels, hair dryer and mirror allowing for light travelling (essential for you hikers and cyclists out there!). The studio also offers free Wi-Fi access, freesat TV/DVD player and Alexa-enabled Bluetooth speaker with free access to Spotify digital music service. The area benefits from very good mobile reception. Also within walking distance is Amberley Railway Station, two lovely pubs (The Bridge Inn and the George & Dragon) both serving lunch and dinner and a riverside café that caters for breakfast, teas, lunch, pizzas and more recently self-hire river cruises. The George & Dragon, Houghton offers breathtaking views of the South Downs and is reputedly one of the oldest 3 pubs in Sussex. It has a wealth of charm & character and said to have been a stop-off point for King Charles II following his defeat at the Battle of Worcester. The nearby, picturesque village of Amberley with its pretty thatched cottages has a tea rooms, village stores (useful for lunch supplies) and a further two pubs! During the colder months the South Downs can get rather muddy in places so if you intend to explore the area we would highly recommend bringing suitable footwear. A unique attraction of the area is its International Dark Sky Reserve status making our location the ideal place for a spot of stargazing (on a clear night, of course!). Dark Skies are areas where you can look at the night sky without the light pollution created by street lights etc. so if you are checking in at night the drive and garden lights are on a sensor but the surrounding area will be dark, very dark! For those walking or cycling the South Downs Way we can provide a baggage transfer service up to 20 miles in an Easterly or Westerly direction for a set fee of £20. Please enquire at the time of booking. If you fancy exploring the South Downs on two wheels, never has it been so easy thanks to the introduction of e-bikes! Chalkpit Trails Mobile Cycle Hire offer a free drop off and collection service from The Hideaway supplying e-bikes and regular mountain bikes. Arundel, Chichester and Petworth are all within easy driving distance. Perfectly located for Goodwood events such as the Festival of Speed, Revival and Glorious Goodwood.
A stunning area of West Sussex. Houghton is a hamlet in the South Downs National Park making it perfect for hikers and cyclists keen to complete the breath-taking 100 mile stretch of national trail running from Winchester to Eastbourne. It is on the River Arun, where it has a bridge to a rural part of Amberley, 3 miles (5 km) north of Arundel. The Monarch’s Way long-distance footpath (which follows Charles's supposed route from Worcester to Shoreham-by-Sea) descends from the Downs to the west into the village, before heading south along the river towards Arundel. In May 2016 the South Downs National Park became the world’s newest International Dark Sky Reserve, only the 2nd in England and 12th in the world! Across the South Downs International Dark Sky Reserve, some of the best locations for stargazing are already designated as Dark Skies Discovery Sites, offering sweeping views of the starry skies. One of the darkest locations in the South Downs International Dark Sky Reserve is at Bignor Hill (3.5 miles from The Hideaway) between Arundel and Petworth. This remote hilltop location offers extensive views of the night sky in all directions and delivers exquisite views of the Milky Way on a moonless night in late summer and mid-winter.
  • Great location in the South Downs especially if you are looking to go walking. The space was lovely and as described, perfect for 2 adults. Cosy at night and gorgeous views from the breakfast table in the morning. Would have no hesitation in recommending!

Welcoming, charming cottage on the South Downs way near Amberley. Professionally cleaned after each guest departure. Just round the corner from Amberley station and the Museum, this cosy cottage boasts a welcoming kitchen and lounge and through to the main bedroom with king size bed and ensuite with shower. Upstairs, with limited head height is a second small double bedroom with adjoining bathroom. The cottage is in a perfect position, mid point on the south downs way.
The cottage is on the South Downs way and a 2 minute walk from Amberley Train station (and don't forget Amberley Museum aka Roger Moore 007 film location). It has the convenience of an excellent pub over the road, where you can get a swift drink and good quality food (in high season you will need to book in advance) or a delightful riverside tea room round the corner. The cottage backs onto the main road through Amberley, and whilst it is double glazed, you can hear the traffic. In the kitchen there is a belfast sink, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, kettle, toaster, microwave, combination oven and ceramic hob. Please let me know if you want me to leave the travel cot at the time of booking. In the main bedroom there is a king size bed with wardrobes, shelves and an ensuite with toilet, shower and basin. In the other bedroom please note, there is limited head height. There are 2 single beds in there. But let me know if you only want 1 single bed in there and I will remove 1 of them so that there is more space. In this bedroom there is a bath and basin. Please note, the bath is super tiny. Really tiny. Please also note that the house owner (not me) is currently clearing out the house and there is currently a container on the parking lot. However there are still 4 other parking spaces available. The cottage also offers free Wi-Fi access and a TV and dvd player. The local towns and villages of Arundel, Chichester and Petworth are all within easy driving distance. Often, travellers stay with us to attend Goodwood events such as the Festival of Speed, Revival and Glorious Goodwood (Horse Racing).
This cottage has great transport links with Amberley train station a couple of minutes walk away. There is ample parking on the premises.
  • Cosy, stylish space in very good location. Can particularly recommend the Black Horse in Amberley. Good value.

  • We enjoyed a fantastic stay at Jane's cottage, which was actually booked last minute due to a cancellation of another accommodation. The communication was excellent and Jane couldn't have been more helpful in making our booking. The cottage is lovely, situated opposite a very nice pub which is great for dinner and drinks. And the best bit - the location! Right on the South Downs Way with easy access to hours of exploring. Thanks for a great stay :)

    Ross2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely house with lots of character in a really convenient location. Great spot for dog walkers. Nice pub and a tea room within seconds of the house where dogs are allowed.

  • Delightful little cottage in a perfect location for beautiful walks in the South Downs. Everything was clean, comfortable and a pleasure to use. The pub across the road (the Bridge Inn) is great for drinks - we didn’t eat there so not sure about the food. We had the most delicious dinner at the Black Horse inn, which is about 20 mins walk away and well worth the trip! Amberley village is chocolate box pretty and we’d love to come back.

  • Diana and John were superb hosts! They were super-nice and made me feel perfectly at home. Actually, they did everything for me they could and were incredibly helpful before I could even think of wishing for something. I was accommodated in a house next to theirs, which provided the most possible privacy for me, while constantly someone would have been available next door yet in case of need. The house is brightly furnished and so spreads a very friendly atmosphere. The sleeping room is large with more than enough space, and everything was clean. They served breakfast and offered a large variety to choose from. Much nature is there in the surroundings and it was completely quiet during the nights. Practical hint for orientation: It was about a 15 - 20 minutes walk from there to the Cathedral. To sum it up: There was nothing more to wish for and so I can warmly recommend a stay at their house!

    Sabine2019-06-21T00:00:00Z

A traditional town centre cottage that nestles just below Arundel's famous cathedral with great views of the cathedral from the patio garden. Tucked away amongst the quiet streets at the top of the town it offers a restful place to stay in this most popular and historic town. Set over three floors the cottage will sleep three to four guests. The top floor bedroom has a trundle bed so is better suited where there is a young family of four rather than four adults. On the first floor there is a double bedroom. The living room has a traditional fireplace and combines with the dining room. The kitchen is well equipped and sits at the rear of the cottage. Arundel area Arundel is a majestic market town made famous by both the Castle, ancestral home to the Dukes of Norfolk, and the cathedral. Both are imposing sites in the town that welcome many visitors. The River Arun flows through the town offering local boat trips. Arundel Wetland Centre is also worth a visit and also the grounds within Arundel Park. Overall it's a great location for visiting the South Downs, the beaches at Littlehampton and Climping and the city of Chichester.

Arundel is a tiny market town 49 miles from London near the sea on the South Coast of England. Arundel Castle (open spring to late Autumn), which regularly hosts exciting jousting tournaments and days of historical interest for all the family, is a wonderful place to visit with tours around the castle including beautiful walled gardens. There is a museum by the main entrance to the Castle and the imposing Arundel Cathedral to visit. Whether you enjoy a gentle stroll or are a seasoned hiker there are breath-taking walks through Arundel Park which begin at the top the hill in town and go on for miles over the South Downs. At Swanbourne Lake, Mill Lane, you can hire rowing boats or visit the Arundel Wetland Centre which has a multitude of bird wildlife. There is also mini golf, bowling and tennis in Mill Road near the Castle main gates. If you enjoy swimming the Lido is on Queen Street or for horse riding Arundel Riding Centre is in Park Place. You can take a leisurely boat trip from the bridge in Mill Lane in Arundel Centre or just sit in one of the cafes overlooking the water and watch the world go by. Arundel has some fabulous festivals including the vibrant Arundel Festival and Art Trail in August and the romantic Arundel by Candlelight in December. Arundel is very small and intimate: you don’t even need to get in the car as nowhere in town is further than about 10 minutes walk! There are fantastic antique shops all over town and many restaurants, cafes and one-off boutiques.
  • Laura’s Place offered the perfect base for us to enjoy a mini family break. Very comfortable and stylish and so convenient for all amenities. Fabulous eateries to choose from on the doorstep! Lovely local walks and if anyone hasn’t yet visited Portsmouth famous docks with The Mary Rose and H.M.S. Victory you really should it was a great day out for all the family.

  • Great location, small but lovely kept house and ideal for a young family of four.

    Ian2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • The location is fabulous, just feet away from one of the main streets and minutes away from any of the sights. The house itself is very comfortable and well supplied with kitchen utensils for almost anything you would want to cook. The heating worked really well and so the place was nice and warm even with frost outside, and both the shower and the bath were excellent. In the summer the minor issue would be the Eagle pub on a Saturday night, as you can hear it a bit even with the windows closed. But I do go to bed early.... I would happily stay here again and would recommend it to anyone with that one small caveat.

    Judy2019-12-04T00:00:00Z
  • Clean cottage in a perfect location. Easy walking to all the towns sights. Would highly recommend staying here.

  • Fab place in a fab location. Home from home!

    Paul2019-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful stay we had here - beautiful cottage - immaculate and in an ideal location with everything the town had to offer on our doorstep.

    Deborah2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cottage, great location.

    Oliver2019-03-21T00:00:00Z
  • Great house, right in the centre of Arundel, fantastic to have a dedicated parking space. The only issue was that The Eagle pub does do live music on a Friday/Saturday night that can be clearly heard from Malt House Cottage. Although my daughter and I did enjoy singing along, it did mean we could not go to bed when we wanted.

  • Denise is an excellent host, and you will be made to feel very welcome. My room was beautiful and sparkling clean, the bathroom was large with a spacious shower and excellent water pressure, and breakfast was a delight. Location is perfect: right in the center of town, within walking distance to everything of interest, and yet it is blissfully quiet at night. Pictures are accurate, responses were fast. Highly recommend this host and property!

Cosy little room with en-suite shower facilities and small tea and coffee area. The pool house is at the end of the garden with its own private entrance across the lawn and along the side of the pool. Guests are welcome to use the pool and deck in the summer months. We are 10 minutes from Arundel, the entrance to the South Downs National Park. Close to lots of amenities and tourist attractions. 5 miles from the beach.
I can make a hair dryer and iron available if needed but do not leave them in the pool house because of the limited space. I will arrange directly with guests as to when it is convenient to top up the fridge, tea and coffee etc. so as not to intrude on your space. The fridge is stocked with water, milk and orange juice and also breakfast items which include croissants, ham & cheeses, butter and jams etc. It there is anything else you would like, let me know and I will arrange for it to be in your room ready.
Our home is along a quiet dead end lane and next to a real old fashioned local pub. The property backs onto fields on 2 sides and is generally very quiet.
  • In one word. Magnificent

This cottage has a great holiday feel with a large open plan living area with high ceilings. There are 2 double bedrooms and a mezzanine sleeping area that the kids and teenagers will love bringing the maximum sleeping capacity to 6. There are 2 bathrooms and an outside space for a bbq. Pls note with reference to customer feedback we now include linen in the quote and there are basic toiletries available.
The Studio is located right in the centre of town on a beautiful cobbled street. On the ground floor to the left of the entrance hall is a bedroom with double bed (this room also has a single sofa bed which can be made up if requested). There are two steps up to a very large open plan living room with dining area. There is a kitchen area to the back of the living room which then leads onto a small terrace with table and chairs. There is also a family bathroom with bath and shower on this floor. On the first floor there is a spacious and light master bedroom with superking size bed and en suite shower room. There is a mezzanine sleeping area above the kitchen/living room with 2 single beds which is ideal for teenagers - no children under 9 are allowed up here unless accompanied by an adult at all times because the steps leading to the mezzanine sleeping area are very steep. Also, please be aware that there is a large skylight in the living room ceiling so the mezzanine becomes light early in the morning during the summer months. This cottage used to be an artist’s studio so it has a very interesting, spacious and light feel. It is situated right in the best part of town so you can just walk everywhere and don't need a car at all. There is no private parking at the property but most of the streets around have unrestricted parking. Well behaved dogs are welcome at an additional charge of £25 per dog. Puppies are not allowed and dogs must not be left on their own in the house .
  • A cozy and happy space, in a terrific location.

Challenge Cottage is an appealing period holiday cottage close to Arundel Castle and the centre of town which sleeps 2-4 guests. The cottage is bursting with all the charm of a genuine 18th century cottage but has been carefully refurbished to be both pretty and very comfortable.
Guests will enjoy the attractive living room with fireplace and comfy seating for 4. There is a smart TV and wifi. The living room leads onto a country kitchen with oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher and washer/dryer. There is a small table in the kitchen which seats up to 4 guests. To the rear of the cottage the charming courtyard garden with outside seating area enables guests to enjoy the sunshine on a warm day. On the first floor is a light and airy double bedroom and bathroom. The second floor has a double bedroom with views towards Arundel Castle. Linen and towels are included and beds are made up for your visit. Please be aware that Arundel cottages are notorious for quite steep stairs and for this reason we suggest that this cottage is not suitable for those with mobility problems and children under 12 are not allowed. There is no private parking at the cottage but there are 1 hour parking spots directly opposite the cottage. For longer term parking there is a car park less than a minute’s walk from the house tucked away behind the houses opposite (£5 per day) or if you prefer to park for free this can be done by parking on Mill Road beyond the castle.
There is so much to do in Arundel town itself that you will find that you don’t need a car unless you want to sightsee further afield. There is the majestic Arundel Castle to be explored as well as Arundel Cathedral, the museum, Arundel Lido, mini golf, tennis, bowls and river trips all within a 5 minute walk of Challenge Cottage. For those who enjoy shopping there are wonderful antique shops all over town and gift shops in both the High Street and Tarrant Street. There are an abundance of cafes and restaurants all within a few minutes’ walk and a fabulous deli and butcher just around the corner as well as a general provisions’ store a few doors down from the cottage. If you walk past the Castle down a leafy promenade you will reach Swanbourne Lake where you can hire a rowing boat, feed the ducks and swans or stroll all around the lake. Wildlife enthusiasts will also enjoy The Wetlands Centre a little further on to see a multitude of bird wildlife in their natural habitat or you can walk up through Arundel Park to enjoy the magnificent countryside and views over the South Downs. A little further afield Clymping beach is a 15 minute drive from Arundel and there are Roman ruins, National Trust gardens and local places of interest in abundance within easy striking distance. Brighton is approximately 45 minutes away as is Portsmouth should you be interested in the famous historic dockyards or enjoy outlet shopping. For those who love outdoor life the walks over the South Downs are quite breath-taking but for those who prefer more sedentary entertainment Chichester Festival Theatre is one of the UK’s flagship theatres, renowned for the exceptionally high standard of its productions.
  • Challenge cottage is a super cute little convenient place right near the Arundel train station. I was visiting my grandmother with three others and this cottage was perfect for us. I do have to mention that the ceilings are very low so as tall people, we had to crouch in places like the shower and the stairs, but there was more than enough room for us and our luggage. We were all pleased with the washing machine, dishwasher, and big kitchen as we all like to cook. The location could not have been more perfect. Laura is incredibly accommodating and had everything set up for a great stay!

    Sam2019-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at the gorgeous Challenge Cottage! It’s location is ideal and we walked everywhere in Arundel! We enjoyed the local farmer’s market and loved cooking our own meals. This kitchen is fully loaded with everything we needed. The washer/dryer combo came in handy too. Shops are close by and very quaint! When we return in 2021, we will definitely stay here again!

    Katrina2019-07-23T00:00:00Z

  • Wonderful stay and great communication. There was a little hiccup on arrival but it was immediately sorted out. One of the best equipped kitchens of any Airbnb we’ve stayed in and a lovely small courtyard area with a bbq. The bedrooms were perfect and beautifully maintained. Amazing location to see all of Arundel. Everything really is on your doorstep.

  • This cottage is a fantastic little home away from home. Wonderfully decorated, great amenities and a comfortable cozy space. I drive and managed to find a parking space on mill road for free each evening (although it is winter season) but a car is not required since everything is in walking distance. Laura was very helpful and quick to respond to any / all queries. Highly recommend!

This is a comfortable studio cottage in the grounds of the owners' home midway between Littlehampton and Arundel. This comfortable cottage has a good sized living room that converts to a bedroom. The double bed neatly stores away when not required. There is also a bathroom with a shower attachment above the bath which is a real benefit to a cottage of this size where shower rooms are the norm. Guests are allowed to enjoy the owners' gardens in addition to their own private patio space. Please note that the cost of electricity is not included - meter readings will be taken before and after your stay. Also, the owners of Grooms Cottage do not take bookings with children.

One cosy but spacious and airy ground floor double room with it's own bathroom. Guests are welcome to use the kitchen, dining and seating space as well as relaxing in the south facing garden enjoying a BBQ or watching the abundant wild life around the pond. I share the house with Millie my Collie dog who loves welcoming guests to the house. A simple breakfast of cereal, toast, tea, coffee and juice juice is available. I can also offer you locked bike storage if needed.
Slindon village is not only a beautiful village to walk around, it also has its own village shop and cafe, which serves amazing cakes and a great cooked breakfast. A traditional, welcoming local pub is a few minutes walk away which serves delicious food.

This lovely Victorian cottage is in Arundel is just a few minutes walk from Arundel old town. There are 2 reception rooms with working fireplaces, kitchen, 2 double bedrooms (master bedroom has a kingsize bed and bedroom 2 has a double bed) and a small, grassed South facing garden. Well behaved dogs welcome - there is a set charge of £25 per pet. Dogs are not allowed on the furniture or upstairs and must not be left on the property unattended.
The main reception room has an open fire, sofa and armchairs and there is a second reception room which seats up to 6 with a wood burner. There is a galley kitchen and a little South facing lawned garden with tables, chairs and bbq area. As shown on the photograph the stairs are open with a banister only on one side which means that this cottage is not suitable for toddlers or very young children. Bedroom one has stripped wooden floorboards, a double bed and a pretty ornamental fireplace. Bedroom 2 is also a good size bedroom with double bed. The bathroom is between the 2 rooms has both a bath and a shower and is fresh and bright.
This is a quiet, residential street, away from the bustle of the town centre but close enough to walk to the centre town within a few minutes.
  • The space was in the perfect location to Arundel and surrounding areas with free parking. We had everything we needed to enjoy our stay and felt right at home in the space. The fireplace was perfect for a cozy night in and the host had great communication.

Downview is a double room with views going out over the South Downs to Arundel. I also have a single room available for airbnb guests. Downview is offered at a single price for 1 person and extra £10 per night for the second person. Although we share the bathroom I have a separate toilet and my rule is that my guests get first choice. If you wish to stay longer I would be happy to discuss this with you. I am happy for you to share the kitchen and lounge and TV and look forward to seeing you.
I have a built in wardrobe and 2 small tables in the room and a table lamp. The views from the bedroom look over the South Downs and Arundel. Although, I have a shared bathroom I always ensure my guests have first use of the shower.
I Love Yapton because it is still a safe village and holiday sea side atmosphere which means we are laid back and relaxed here. Artists love Yapton for its sky. I love my views across the fields to Arundel and the Downs and being close to Clymping beach. It was once a smugglers village and we once had a canal linking to the river Arun. We have old churches here from the 10th to 11th Century. Our Coop has a fresh bakery with French croissants, a good butchers if you want to cook here. Fish and chips i recommend Oscars in Luttlehampton. There are good farmshops nearby and cafes and restaurants in Arundel 4 miles away. A Harvester in Littlehampton. Something for everyone. A few pubs and local brewery's but you need a car although you could walk to the Murrell Arms. There is Amberly Museum and 20 minutes from the Weald and Down museum. Near to Bosham and 20 minutes from Chichester or 8 miles. Near to Tangmere museum re the the RAF and 20 minutes from Highdown Gardens set on the chalk downs and great for a pucnic or walk to Hanaker windmill and take in views across the top of the hills . Close to the Trundle with views across Goodwood race course and Slindon woods walk to the Folly for views out to sea and into the Beech wood for a walk. Near to Slindon and Eartgam woods with the Roman parh and a visit to the Roman ruins in Fishbourne 30 minutes away. The new coastal cycle path is being completed and stop at Felpham to see Willuam Blakes house. Visit Arundel castle or the Catholic cathedral. Close to Bogrove catholic church with it's labarynth and cloister ruins . In Yapton we have a fabulous new stained glass window of the tree of life and the sun sets through this window. Lovely church lane takes you past Yaptons old houses and quaint English gardens who needs Kew!

As one of the few more modern buildings in King Street No 10 has the comfortable advantages of a more up to date building whilst looking out onto the beautiful flint cottages that make King Street one of the prettiest in Arundel. There are 3 bedrooms and 1 bathroom, ground floor toilet and courtyard garden.
The hallway opens onto a bright and spacious double reception room with gas fire and two sofas with a dining area towards the far side of the room opening out onto a sunny courtyard garden. Also on the ground floor is a well equipped kitchen (please be aware that there is no dishwasher) and cloakroom. On the first floor there are 3 good size bedrooms – one with a double bed and one with two single beds and a further single bedroom. There is also a family bathroom. Well behaved dogs are allowed with special written permission of the property manager Laura Lye. There is a £25 per week charge for dogs.
In Arundel itself there is the castle which often has exciting jousting and other historical events, there are beautiful walled gardens and you can take a tour through the castle (open to the public from 28th March). Also in town there is a museum, the Cathedral and amazing walks through Arundel Park which start right at the top the hill from the cottage. If you walk over the hill in the Arundel Park you will come to Swanbourne Lake where you can hire a boat for a row around, have an ice cream etc. Just further on is a bird wildlife centre. Also right in the centre of town is mini golf (open in summer only), a pretty playground, public tennis courts and a large lido all a short walk away. Within 10 minutes drive is Littlehampton which has the design award winning restaurant the East Beach Café, beach, tennis, crazy golf, mini train and funfair. The other side of the river in town is a great very casual fish and chip café called the West Beach Café with a part stone, part sandy beach. A little further away is Clymping beach, Middleton Beach and the most well known beach in the area West Wittering which is a lovely sandy beach but gets very busy during the holidays when it’s hot. If you want a little culture Petworth Park is magnificent inside and outside you can walk through the parklands with thousands of deer and lovely views. There are Roman villas at Bignor and Fishbourne or the Weald & Downland Outdoor Museum which has historic houses and buildings from 13th Century to Victorian times for you to explore and lots of ‘making things’ activities for kids during the holidays. For the more mechanically minded Amberley Working Museum is a great step back through time and for the adventurous this rock climbing and activity centre is absolutely brilliant. For afternoon/evening entertainment Chichester Festival Theatre and the Minerva Theatre has a wealth of plays. In Portsmouth there is a huge historic dockyard where you can go aboard old warships and ships dating back to 16th Century. The Dockyard is also the home of Lazer Quest and nearby is an Aquarium for more family fun. From Portsmouth you can also take a hovercraft over to the Isle of Wight for a day trip which is brilliant for the kids. Just on from Portsmouth there is a very well tended zoo at Marwell. You should also know about the Flying Fortress indoor play centre in Yapton for the little ones in case it rains – heaven if you are under 8 – hell if you are an adult! There are endless cafes, antique shops and gift shops in Arundel, fantastic walking and cycling in the South Downs and beach life just a short drive away. It’s really fun for kids of all ages round here and so breathtakingly beautiful that the adults will have a wonderful time too.
  • We had a great stay in a fantastic location, thank you!

  • It is very clean and the bedrooms are big enough. The kitchen is well equipped. There is no dishwasher , but we didn‘t miss it. A good thing is the extra toilet downstairs. The check-in and check-out were easy.

  • Lovely clean, bright and family friendly cottage in the heart of Arundel. We also loved enjoying the sun in the patio overlooking the cathedral. Walking distance to all shops and entrance to famous castle is a must. Thank you Laura!

  • A very comfortable and spotlessly clean venue with all requirements in a super location by Arundel Cathedral and very close to the pretty town which has independent shops, a museum as well as a beautiful castle - close to National Trust properties. 5-star break.

  • Fantastic location. Quiet yet only a few minutes walk into town and close to 2 pubs! Great property, very clean, cosy and homely. Bedrooms are bigger than they look in the photos. Steep steps to front door could be an issue for some. Parking was on the street but easy enough to find a space and we had 3 cars between us.

    Karina2018-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first Airbnb experience and were very happy with our stay. The cottage is very centrally located and was clean and comfortable. All the facilities were as advertised and we would definitely recommend this to anyone visiting Arundel.

A light and tranquil self-contained studio apartment with small balcony area with amazing views over the South Downs towards the beautiful hamlet of South Stoke. The studio is about 1.5 miles from the centre of Arundel, set in the South Downs National Park and about 10 miles from the ancient town of Chichester. The nearest beaches are about 5 miles away. This is a great location for Arundel Castle, the Arundel Festival, Goodwood Revival and Festival of Speed, and Arundel by Candlelight.
We are in a quiet rural location but within walking distance of a riverside pub and Arundel town - with good access to walks in Arundel Park, the South Downs Way and the Arun riverside.
We are in Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in the unspoiled Arun valley and yet minutes from the many attractions, individual shops and restaurants of Arundel.
  • What a lovely little place, in an amazing location. Really well furnished, with beautiful homey touches. A real gem. Thank you Peter and Ros

  • We had the most beautiful stay in this studio. It’s in an amazing location and decorated perfectly - waking up to natural light from the huge window is definitely a highlight. Peter and Ros are super helpful and lovely, they gave us a lift to a restaurant also. Couldn’t recommend enough, thanks to you both!

  • Peter and Roz Where very welcoming and and helpful We would highly recommend a stay at there place

    Todd2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely spot, minutes away from Arundel town centre. We initially looked for somewhere to stay in Brighton for a wedding, and ended up finding this place. Didn’t regret it! The surroundings are so peaceful; I don’t think we’ve slept this well in months. I recommend grabbing a bite to eat at the Black Rabbit, which is a short stroll away. Arundel Castle is a great attraction, and it’s worth spending half a day exploring. If you’re feeling energetic, you can also have a walk around Swanbourne Lake and walk up a steep hill to see Hiorne Tower and check out the splendid views. Tip: do not use the ‘get directions’ link in the Airbnb app. It sends you to another May Cottage 10 miles away. Peter very helpfully provided a full address, so it was just us being a bit disorganised!

    Anthony2019-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic place with a beautiful view. Peter and Ros were exceptional hosts. They were helpful and flexible about checking in and even gave us a lift to the station! Thank you very much for great stay!

  • Perfect place for exploring the locality - walks from the doorstep including Arundel castle and town, Swanbourne lake, Black Rabbit pub etc. Great opportunity to (accidentally) spot wildlife, we saw owls and a stoat just on an evening amble. Quiet, peaceful and rural. Lovely clean accommodation with all the basic amenities, welcoming and friendly hosts.
