  • This is easily the nicest Airbnb I have ever visited! The first thing I noticed about Bonny was her incredible warmth and welcoming nature. I had mentioned that I was looking into my family history and appeared to have ancestors from nearby Aughris More. Bonny immediately had recommendations for me about local people to speak with and offered to introduce me! The apartment is a dream, complete with a cozy heater made to look like a fireplace, a washer and dryer both in-unit, two beautiful and comfortable bedrooms (one with two twin beds and one with a full bed) and a bathroom with a flat wall heater in it that leaves your towels perfectly warm after you hop out of the shower. Bonny had fresh scones and amazing strawberry jam waiting for me when I arrived. She’d even purchased milk for me and placed it in the fridge in case I wanted to have a cup of tea right when I arrived. The apartment itself looks out on a gorgeous inland lake and beautiful Omey Strand is a lovely 10-minute walk away. I so wish I had been able to stay longer than two days. I cannot think of a single thing that could have been nicer about my stay here. Thank you so very much, Bonny!

    Joanie2020-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay here. The hotel is stunning from the exterior and has a homeliness to it inside. The staff and management run it in a very communal way with free scones and Prosecco helping to get guests together in one space and create a great atmosphere. They took a picture of us at dinner one night and printed it off as a free gift. Little things like that make all the difference and we loved the vibe they try to create in their space. The location is ideal if you are trying to move around different parts of Connemara. The only small complaint I’d have is the shower we had was not powerful at all and we had to use the bath hose which was inconvenient

  • Aine was friendly and helpful from the moment we arrived giving us lots of tips for things to see and places to visit. She had even lit the log burner for us so it was cosy and warm. The cottage was in a good location close to town and we enjoyed seeing the wonderful countryside out and about and getting to visit some of the local bars to hear some traditional Irish music.

  • The Aibnb is extremely well located inside Clifden, and you will find everything you will need. Although it might be cold during winter time, the place has nice amenities. Aine even got us tea/coffee/breakfast. She is extremely nice and will give you loads of tips about what to do in case you run out of idea. Finally, the place was ever so clean. I’d definitely stay there again if I were to come to Connemara again.

  • We had a lovely stay at Kate's Cottage. It's in a beautiful, quiet, rural location and just minutes from Clifden. The cottage is cosy, comfortable and warm - the fire was lit prior to our arrival which made for a true warm welcome. The home has everything you would need, everything is thought of. Aine is the perfect host. She kindly gave us a lift into Clifden and pointed out some great recommendations, Guy's for dinner and Lowry's for drinks and music after. We would be delighted to stay in Kate's Cottage the next time we visit Clifden!

  • What a lovely Weekend we have just had. Aine left Adam in charge he done a great job. Popped in to say hello when we arrived and gave a few recommendations, then left us to it, making sure that we were happy to contact him if we needed to. The second night we just so happened to be in a pub that he was playing in. Really lovely for a chilled out of season visit

  • Gillian went above and beyond for my boyfriend and I. She gave amazing recommendations and was incredibly helpful, especially since we did not have a car. The cabin was immaculately clean. The fireplace was very cozy and the view was absolutely stunning. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone considering.

  • This is a great little place. A lovely welcome from Gillian who had the fire lit and a bottle of vino waiting for us. Having arrived late at night it was a sight for sore eyes. The place itself is lovely, quirky and cosy. The kitchen has it all, living area really comfy with big fireplace. The bed was also fab and waking up and looking out the skylight to lovely views just makes you want to get out there and see it all. Only 3 or 4km from clifden and not too far from renvile and kylemore abbey. All in all and fabulous little spot and well worth the visit. Thanks again Gerry

The kitchen was well equipped and had everything needed for cooking a meal. The peat fire added a warm, enchanting atmosphere. Gillian was a lovely hostess and had a lovely bottle of red wine to greet us as well as a freshly baked loaf of sofa bread.

  • Excellent week in a beautiful and remote area. The cottage is perfectly located, just a few miles from everything you need to see in Connemara. Barry was a great host, happy to chat around about him, Ireland and the house. Just be careful since the bed is rather small for 2 and can be uncomfortable at times with the springs. Other than that, don't hesitate booking this place!

  • A very nice accommodation in a wonderful location by the sea, very well equipped. You need very good shoes because there are wet meadows all around and rocky slippery banks. When arriving by car, you have to drive very carefully to get safely into the narrow driveway to the house. Very suitable for us as a family to relax.

  • This beautiful cottage of Love Connemara Holiday Cottages was a true gem that we found for a friends vacation in a remote area between Clifden and Cleggan. The house was lovely decorated, spacious and had a stunning view from the kitchen to the seaside, with horses residing next to the yard. We also found everything we need in the kitchen and the hosts went above and beyond with additional amenities that we could use for the outdoors. Just one thing to note: the entry way to the house was a bit rocky, so be careful with driving/insurance. We can definitely highly recommend the place!

  • An apartment just beautiful both its location and its very functional, flawlessly clean with Anna always ready to give good advice (visits, pubs ...) welcome with the scones!

  • Hidden gem :)

    Zsófia2019-05-03T00:00:00Z
  • Fabulous accommodation. The location itself is just so beautiful, and the apartment was so modern and spotless. Anna had thought of everything, it really made for a great holiday!

    James2019-04-30T00:00:00Z
  • The only thing that could’ve made our stay at Anna’s better is if we would’ve stayed there throughout our whole visit to Ireland! The scenery was incredible and the apartment was cozy. It was also very nice to have a washer and dryer being this close to the end of our trip! Anna left amazing scones for us and they were great for breakfast the next morning! I would recommend staying at Anna’s to everyone and hope to return myself in the future!

  • Great place

    Alexandra2018-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I spent 2 days at Anna’s place, and it was an amazing experience! Super clean and beautiful apartment, breathtaking nature views and very soulful kind hosts who are ready to help with anything. We see that some guests complain about fact that the electricity is managed by a separate meter, but overall is a nice experience that brings you closer to the eco-friendly atmosphere of Ireland. Thank you for such a nice experience in Connemara!

    Pedro2018-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful quiet, little cottage at the sea. Everything you need and more. Anna was on hand if we needed anything and was very helpful. Would love to come back and stay for a week.

    Debbie2018-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful apartment with a gorgeous view and close to a lovely beach. We loved our stay! We were a bit taken off guard by the presence of a meter that only accepted 1 or 2 euro coins for electricity - so when you arrive, come prepared with a bit of change so you can use the amenities!

This is a beautiful small cottage built in the traditional style on the Wild Atlantic Way just 1.5 km from Letterfrack Village and the centre of the stunning Connemara National Park. The sea is just 300m away and the house is private and set among trees.
It is located at the heart of North West Connemara within 1.5km of the Connemara National Park (Walks are currently open March 2020 but not visitor centre) and 6km from Kylemore Abbey. Also within walking distance of Rosleague Manor for food and bar. The fields next door have wonderful panoramic view of the Diamond and the Kylemore valley as well as Ballinakill Bay for you to enjoy. The area is littered with remote beaches of golden sand and turquoise seas to swim or kayak in. The house is close to mountains and hills with views over bogs and lakes. We would love to share it with you.
Letterfrack is a lively village often with music at weekends and plenty to do both in the pubs and outside. We are spoiled here with the most beautiful scenery. Deserted beaches views of The Twelve Bens Mountain range and the Wild Atlantic Ocean. There is little light pollution and we havedark skies with thousands of stars - make sure to go outside on a clear night the Sky looks 3 dimensional.
  • Fantastic accommodation fantastic location.. highly recommended.

  • A beautiful warm little cottage set in one of Ireland’s most picturesque areas. I spent three nights but would have loved at least a week. I will stay again in the future. The hiking was really great. Thanks Marie Louise for a fantastic stay.

The Old School House & Potters Cottage was originally built in 1838. Completed in May 2018 The Potters Cottage was once the Schools turf shed & then redeveloped into The Connemara Pottery Workshop. It's 1200m to Clifden, 15 min stroll to the pub. 2 min walk to the Connemara Rugby Club, 5 min walk to the Greenway, as well as a 10 min drive to Ballyconneely. Great for scenic walks, beaches, golf, rugby, painting, fishing, running and cycling with direct access onto the cycle lanes. NO WiFi.
Great for couples and single travelers, spacious cottage with a cosy wood burner, flat screen TV and all your home essentials. The bedroom hosts a King size bed and all of the rooms are newly designed and decorated to a high standard. There is an oldly worldly feel to the decor and we have tried to keep the traditional Irish Cottage feel throughout. We supply your first basket of fuel for the wood burner and for guests staying 5 nights or longer we offer an Irish Gift basket to welcome you to our little hideaway. There are no laundry facilities in the house, however we do offer a laundry service (wash & dry for €10 per load), for guests staying 5 nights or longer we will come in half way through your stay (obviously whilst you are out) to clean, change bed linen, replenish towels and launder clothing free of charge. We look to make your stay with us as hassle free as possible and your time in Connemara as enjoyable as possible. We live on site and are always available to help. We offer free parking and should you choose to walk into Clifden Town, which is a 10-15 minute stroll away on a well lit road.
A 5 minute walk to the Greenway, The Salt Lake and a couple of minutes walk to the Connemara All Blacks Rugby Club. 15 minutes stroll to your first pub, Mannions. The Connemara National Park in Letterfrack is a 20 minute drive from the cottages. The road from the house to Clifden is fully lit and paved so there is no need to worry about having to walk up narrow unpaved or unlit boreens. Here, and in near by Maam Valley are the settings for such films as the Field and John Ford's classic, The Quiet Man.
  • A beautiful well stocked Potters Cottage with gorgeous large bed / bed room. There was a cosy heat supply with plenty of hot water. A great base for exploring the wonderful area . Very nice, friendly hosts in School House Cottage at front. Would highly recommend . Thank you

Located on The Town Square our newly renovated studio dating back to 1838 enjoys a southerly aspect and direct access to a private terraced patio with BBQ and original stone steps lead to the garden which has great views of Clifden Harbour. On our doorstep there are many bars, restaurants and shops. This apt is a real home from home where one can cook in the kitchen and sit by our solid fuel stove. We have a cast iron bath and an overhead electric shower where one can soak after a days touring
The location is superb. The Studio is just a short stroll from all the pubs, restaurants and shops in town. Clifden, situated on the Wild Atlantic way has much to offer.
  • A perfect little hideaway for two in the heart of Clifden. Clean, warm and cosy. Sinead is very welcoming and attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. Hope to come back to this wonderful part of the world soon!

    Helen2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice and very clean apartment. As described. It is very well located for exploring Connemara. The hosts are very responsive. I highly recommend!!

    Marion2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Sinead's place is right at the centre of Clifden and very convenient for a couple. It is a very cozy studio with all basic amenities that you could possibly need. Supervalu is less than a minute's walk and very nice pubs are just around the corner.

    Fergal2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Nice studio, right in the city center (all pubs / restaurants within easy reach). Possibility of making a fire in the stove by buying the fuel (even if we did not take advantage of it) We did not see Sinead, but the indications were very clear, and the booklet it leaves to the tenants, gives all the necessary recommendations for what to eat / drink / visit in the corners. We recommend !

    Nicolas2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Sinead’s studio is a lovely little retreat and is very well equipped for both a short or long stay. It is perfectly located with a great choice of pubs and restaurants. Sinead is a great host and Clifden is a very friendly place, both Tom Kings pub and the restaurant ‘Off the square’ deserve a special mention. I would not hesitate to recommend and hope to return soon.

    Teresa2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely little comfy space in Clifden, great base for exploring Conemarra and well placed in the town to enjoy local hospitality. Despite being so centrally located, the apartment was also really quiet. Great facilities for cooking etc. too.

    Becca2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay here! Sinead is wonderful to deal with and her studio has everything you need. Well thought out, great little balcony and it was pet friendly meaning I could bring my little jack Russell with us. It’s a warm, cosy unit with more amenities than expected (washing machine, dryer, lovely electrical shower, full kitchen, cosy bed). Located in the town centre- 30 seconds from everything. The locals in Cliften are warm and welcoming. We felt a weekend was not long enough and look forward to getting back. Sinead was wonderful to communicate with. All our needs were met 100%. Couldn’t recommend this place enough!

    Sharon2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • This is the perfect place to stay for exploring Clifden. Right in the middle of the town but once you are inside you wouldn't even think it. In my partner's word it is very cute. The folder provided on the table has some great options for things to do and places to eat which we made use of. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again in future.

  • Delightful stay at Carmel’s house. It was really like a cocoon. The room is very cozy and fully self-functional and very well equipped (couch and an excellent bed). The private bathroom is big and very appreciable. Carmel is very caring. The pre-prepared breakfast is full of kind attention. Finally, the place where the house is extraordinary. It is calm and the scenaries are very beatiful. Host and place well recommended.

Oystercatcher Cottage is situated in a stunning seaside location enjoying panoramic views over the Atlantic Ocean. It is an old cottage which has been renovated over the years while still maintaining it's rustic charm. It's location, in one of the most scenic spots along the Wild Atlantic Way in Connemara, is simply breathtaking. Please note there is no Wifi - it's a real "get away from it all" location.
It is a small traditional cottage with an outside decking area overlooking the sea, a good sized garden, patio area and shed. The inside space comprises a kitchen/dining area, cosy sitting room and bathroom on the ground floor. There are 2 bedrooms upstairs which are accessed by a wooden ladder as seen in the photos (please note this may not be suitable for young children or elderly/infirm adults – look at the photos to decide whether it is suitable for you and your group). There is one bedroom with a king-size bed and another bedroom with 2 single beds, sleeping 4 people in total. The door from the kitchen leads out to the decking area from which you can enjoy fabulous sea views. If you're lucky you might even catch sight of dolphins passing by. In the summer months you can see beautiful sunsets over the sea. The cottage combines many traditional features with modern conveniences including a multi-fuel stove, electric heating, hot water and a small but fully equipped kitchen with electric cooker, fridge, dishwasher, microwave and everything you need to cook your own meals. For entertainment there is a TV, Xbox, dvds, games and books. There is a washing machine and clothes dryer in the adjacent shed, along with a BBQ and outdoor furniture for your use. Depending on the weather, the cottage can be a calm and idyllic place; a real paradise, or wild and windswept as it sits on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean. Either way it's a special place to be. It's particularly suitable for couples looking for a romantic getaway or small groups of friends/family who want to experience the raw beauty of the West of Ireland. The name 'Oystercatcher Cottage' comes from the sea birds often seen and heard on the shore below.
Oystercatcher Cottage is situated in Mullaghgloss on the Renvyle peninsula on the famous Wild Atlantic Way driving route. The cottage is close to many stunning beaches - Lettergesh is the closest at just 2km away. The cottage has views to the mouth of Killary Harbour and across the bay to Co. Mayo in the distance. The village of Tullycross is 2.5k away where you'll find bars serving food including the award-winning Paddy Coynes Pub. The entrance to Connemara National Park is just 7km away in Letterfrack village. The walk to the top of Diamond Hill in the park is well worth the effort. In Letterfrack village you will find a supermarket and more bars which serve food. Kylemore Abbey & Gardens and the town of Clifden are also within easy driving distance.
  • This is just a great place to stay. To come home to after a day of hiking or to stay in and look out at the ocean when the weather is bad - it's just gorgeous. Listening to the sea at night, and waking up to it is wonderful. The cottage has everything you need for proper self-catering cooking, and it have books, DVDs and board games too. The mattress in the double bed is really good and seems new. The personal touches as well as the newly fitted oven/hob, fridge and dishwasher make this a lovely old school cottage with mod cons! Great strong shower too. Check in was a breeze, and communication was great. Definitely come and stay here.

  • A truly wonderful place, I highly recommend it to anyone! The cottage is in a perfect location with amazing views, we visited in winter and loved lighting the wood/peat burner each evening. Such a cosy place to stay in a beautiful part of the world.

  • Where to start... f a b u l o u s location, and such a cozy, well-equipped and nicely styled cottage. The view is out of this world. Was lucky enough to have a morning coffee out on the deck in the middle of winter. The bed was very comfy. Lovely owners, great communication. Can’t wait to return in summer one day!

  • Beautiful spot and a really well-appointed cottage nestled on the coast. We loved it and would happily go back.

    Niall2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • This place is s gem - a find. The cottage is so tastefully decorated. It’s also quirky - it’s location is sublime, set just above a cliff overlooking the Atlantic just south of Killary Harbour at the mouth of Clew Bay. The beaches are spectacular and the views of the Islands and mountains are off the scale for beauty. There is a wonderfully comforting feel to the place - it’s been a very happy home, you can tell.

    Rosaleen2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • A gem of a cottage, simple but perfectly formed and the most breathtaking views out over the sea. We visited around late October so the weather wasnt great but it didnt matter. Windswept beach walks, cosy wood burning stove and books to read. Heaven. We felt very lucky to stay there.

"The Guest Wing" is a comfortable one bed apartment a short walk along the pier to Clifden's centre. The Apartment is quiet and private.
We are situated on Clifden's Beach Road - between the town and the beach. The route is popular for walkers, runners and cyclists as it forms part of a 5km (3mile) loop with the famous Sky Road. The road is usually quiet with most passing traffic pedestrian or nautical.
  • The pictures don’t do The Guest Wing justice, it is immaculate and the space is well thought out and designed perfectly for two. There is a view of the sunrise out of the bedroom window and just a short drive to the Sky Road to see the most incredible sunset. Susan and Leo were incredibly accommodating hosts with lots of helpful contact in advance to help us plan our arrival, it couldn’t have been smoother. The fire makes the apartment really cosy and it’s setting is very sheltered from the wild Atlantic weather, which can be viewed at leisure from the comfort of the apartment. The bed was very spacious and comfortable and another highlight was the custom shower, which if you opened the bathroom window felt like you’re almost outdoors, wonderful! Many places make a good base for travelling but The Guest Wing made you look forward to getting back after a day of sightseeing. Lots of places close by including Lowrys which made us feel very welcome and had great live music. Would highly recommend.

    Clare2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was more than perfect. We had an amazing stay at Susan and Leo's appartement. We will come back for sure !

    Jade2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Susan and Leo's place is a gem! It far exceeded my expectations. The location is perfection -- overlooking the water and along a sweet promenade that goes into town in one direction, and out to the water in the other direction. Within 10 minutes, I was up on Sky Road where I enjoyed a stunning and long walk with breathtaking views of the water. A highlight of my visit! Susan met me upon arrival and could not have been more welcoming. Her communication was prompt and warm. The home itself is clean, stylish and complete with several thoughtful touches. I cooked dinner at home both nights and had everything I needed in the adorable and efficiently equipped kitchen. The wood burning stove was a dream. What a charming place to land! I so hope that I will have an excuse to return here.

    Claire2020-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • We had a terrific time at Susan and Leo's place in Clifden! It was a wonderful location and the apartment was perfect, both for a base to set off and explore the area as well as a place to sit back and relax and enjoy the wind and the rain. Would definitely visit again!

    Hugues2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • Tha apartment is very comfortable, nice and warm for a winter stay. Everything is top quality. It’s easy to go for a walk along the coast from their house. We were very lucky with the weather so we could explore the region around which is breathtalkîngly beautiful. Clifden is a great little town with music in several pub and good food. Susan and her husband offer very good advice.

    Christine2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • Susan and Leo were just excellent hosts. They were proactively attentive, and provided an excellent place and experience! It is abundantly clear why they are top rated hosts. Their place is the nicest one in which I have had the pleasure to stay. The location is an ideal distance from the Village, and has an excellent Sunset view. The walk to town along the waterfront is really enjoyable, and the The Sky at night is amazing due to the absence of light pollution. I intend to stay with Susan and Leo again in the future for an extended time, and highly recommend them as a top of the line experience in Air B&B.

Beautiful traditional cottage with breathtaking views of Omey Island This beautiful newly renovated traditional Irish cottage is set in Aughris, Claddaghuduff overlooking Omey Island and the Atlantic Ocean. The cottage maintains most of its original, rustic features but also has a modern feel The cottage is approx. a 7-8 minute walk to Sweeney’s shop & bar. The bar serves food throughout the day and has plenty of picnic benches outside for enjoying your lunch.
  • Excellent location! Lovely views of Omey island. We walked out when the tide was out, I've never seen so many shells! The kids were delighted. The stove was lit on both evenings, lovely and cosy. Sweeneys shop was a short walk away and very friendly staff. We will be back.

  • Lovely house. Beautiful settings. We had a great break.

    Agnieszka2019-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • This place is incredible! Beautiful ocean view and a free horse in the back. It’s very remote and quiet, on a beautiful Connemara peninsula. The place itself is spacious and cosy with more modern amenities than I expected. I want to go back already.

  • Spacious house, fully equipped in an idyllic setting, beautiful views. Ideal to visit the connemara. Our only regret, staying only 2 nights.

    Manon2019-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely little traditional irish style cottage with all mod cons. Heats up very quickly, hot water, electric shower, bath. Just a lovely place to stay.

    Diarmuid2019-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • We were amazed by the location of the cottage: the view upon Omey Island is breathtaking. We also really enjoyed meeting people at Sweeney's! The cottage was clean and cosy and we got everything we needed. We got quick replies from Joe any time we messaged him. In a nutshell: it is a great accomodation!

  • House with magnificent views and very well located for visiting the connemara. Some caveats about the cleanliness of the floors and dishes. The kitchen furniture is not in very good condition.

We offer a cosy, bright, private studio apartment for a maximum of one couple. Located at one end of the house on a quiet country road, we are approximately 3k from Letterfrack village and Connemara National Park. Adjacent to both the sea and the Twelve Bens mountain range, this is a beautiful situation with an abundance of activities available nearby and plenty of restaurants. We live on a small holding which includes 5 rescue dogs and small livestock which are loose to roam around the site.
  • Patricia’s place is pristine. It was clean, there was a kitchen, sitting room, books about the Celts on the shelves, breakfast was delicious - pancakes and skyr plus a fruit basket waiting for me as well. The location is beautiful as well. Would highly recommend!

    Daniel2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Patricia's place is delightful. We had our own space that was perfect for our needs. It is located just minutes from Connemara National Park and was perfect for visiting Kylemore Abbey. We hope to visit again!

    Wendy2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Patricia’s home is incredibly relaxing and cozy. The room was bigger than expected, the bed very comfortable. Her sweet black kitty kept us company. Directions were clear. An excellent stay.

    Maggie2019-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Cute little house near Conemara National Park. The views from the place are beautiful, and we loved all the animals. The little black cat was such a sweetheart. Wish we could have stayed longer, definitely recommend.

    Tim2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Patricia’s apartment is a fantastic retreat in the middle of the Connemara countryside. If you are a lover of animals this is the place for you. Dogs, ducks, chickens, and a pig were all there to greet us in the morning. It was the little touches that made it really special. Thank you again Patricia for one of our most memorable nights on our tour so far.

    Tom2019-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • This trip was simply magical! That's all we dreamed of when we went to Connemara ... friendliness, scenery, a host of great kindness and invaluable help with logistics and advice! The house is perfect, the animals are lovely, Patricia is really exceptional! Only happiness. Our only regret: staying only one night. Lovers of nature and real life, we strongly recommend !!!!

    Eloi2019-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay. Not easy to find in the dark but worth the journey. Patricia did rescue me though on an exceptionally rainy night!

    Alexis2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • This place is brilliant - a large double bedroom, en-suite with shower, living room with sofa and breakfast table, and a kitchen. Patricia had left us some fresh eggs, jam and bread for the morning and we also met all the animals (dogs, chickens, turkeys, cats and the pig) which made the stay really lovely. The views are incredible and there are some nice places to eat a very short drive away. Would recommend!!

The ever changing lights, during the night the curtains stayed open so that we could enjoy the views at all times. Nice little beach in the bay, where we went kayaking. Very good location for discovering the area. We did some very lovely walks. First time in Ireland, certainly not last time

    Catherine2019-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly recommend a stay at Cashleen Cottage! Every aspect was fantastic from start to finish. Sinead is a superb host and communication was excellent before and during our stay. She even made sure the kids had buckets and spades to use on the beach. The cottage is beautiful in a wonderful setting. Very modern with everything we needed for a week. We particularly enjoyed the rocky local beach and sandy Renvyle beach, and the ability to walk out the back of the house and up onto Tully Hill. We loved our stay (despite the rain!) and would absolutely recommend this cottage to anyone. Thanks Sinead.

    Alessandro2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • We arrived via a lovely small road, one of those roads that gets narrower and narrower as you go further along. We knew we were going somewhere special... Turning into the property we were immediately in awe of the studio, it looked amazing. Anne, our host, came out and showed us how things work – and yes the stove does work and boy does it heat up the place. There's something about lightening a stove that brings us back to another time. The studio itself is well kitted out. A microwave/oven combo, small hob, plates, cutlery and more. Anne even gave us some fresh eggs from the farm. She gave us great advice on where to go, what to see and what to eat. There's plenty of space in the studio, the bed is huge, and the bathroom was perfect.  What we loved was the rural setting but the very modern, well thought out and designed studio. Anne and Simon have really thought this through and it shows.  The studio was also very clean and even included a dyson ; ) Even if the weather is bad, you should go for a drive (obviously in your own car!) but yes a car is essential here. We would highly recommend this location, and hosts as they were amazingly friendly!

  • The space, location, and setting were fantastic. The studio was modern, stylish and very smart. We had everything we needed - and some The location was off the beaten track which is just perfect for a quiet country retreat. Hens, cats and donkeys roamed about freely which lit a flame in my heart And Our host, Anne, was as lovely as can be. She was helpful, informative and ever so bubbly and lovely. What a great experience for my first ever visit to Ireland - but Definetely not my last!

  • We felt very welcome here. The room is a steal. The soaking tub was wonderful, though the color of the bog water was a bit disturbing. The sound of the elevator wasn’t bothersome at all. Roger, the champagne hour host and bartender, was entertaining and gregarious. The piano bar was delightful and we met many locals there. This stay was one of the highlights of our trip.

  • I would recommend everyone spends at least one night in a castle. This one was over the top with the 2 who run it. Thank you for your time and extremely nice extra touches. The history and reception when we came in added to the interest and wonder of this place. The great breakfast the next morning started out day off great.

This listing is for our small Economy Rooms which are ensuite. Please select number of guests carefully as there is an extra charge for 2 persons staying. The Abbeyglen Castle hotel is set on a beautiful hillside overlooking Clifden Bay. Just 5 minutes walk from Clifden town centre it has pride of place at the beginning of the famous Sky Road, a stunning scenic drive, cycle or walk in Connemara. Don't forget to say hello to our famous African Grey Parrot, Froda! You'll find her in reception waiting to greet you when you arrive.
We are located 5 minutes walk from Clifden town, the capital town in Connemara. The Sky Road is one of the most famous scenic drives in Ireland. Clifden town is a busy town full of shops, pubs and restaurants and frequented regularly by hundred of thousands of visitors each year.
  • A must stop on your trip to Ireland. Abbeyglen Castle has a charm all its own made even more spectacular by the staff that is there to spoil you. Included in your stay is afternoon tea and biscuits along with a 6:30 champagne reception (more than one glass too!). Includes light appetizers while they tell you about the history of the place and what to do and see in Connemara county. The story telling is fantastic. After, you go up stairs to dinner for a delicious four courses (49 E.U. pp) or al la carte (based on menu prices). They take your picture during dinner and give that to you as a gift via their complements. It is not your normal hotel food. It is exquisitely paired. Good wine list. Highly recommend the fish chowder, beef or duck. Best ending is a table full of homemade deserts and cheeses. But the night is not over, back down to the bar for an interactive piano bar where you can sing the night away to Irish and top hit piano tunes. In the morning they have more like a brunch for breakfast with so many options to choose from included in your room price. The staff remembers who you are and if you are celebrating an event throughout your stay which is very nice. For groups they have a wonderful sitting room to enjoy. There are several fireplaces throughout. Enjoy a walking path, helicopters pads, and tennis court. The room itself is as pictured in an almost an “attic” or “dormer” area in the castle. There are stairs (one to two steps) up and down to it. It is a small room, but so quaint. The bed was the best bed we had in Ireland with wonderful sheets. The bathroom decent but the tub may be a challenge to climb in and out as they have a step stool and bars to help you. They include water (still and sparkling) along with all the amenities. There are plenty of towels and extras. It was a wonderful day/night here. Our only regret is we didn’t book for longer. A must on your list for Ireland. Next time we will stay a full two days to really enjoy!

  • Brian upgraded us from the economy room to a regular room when he realized that we wouldn’t get any sleep right up the staircase due to a party downstairs. We were able to get a restful night’s sleep and to recover from an ankle injury. We participated in the afternoon and evening gatherings and learned about the Clifden area. The included breakfast was delicious and the staff was top notch. The hotel and grounds were immaculate and the surrounding area was breathtaking. I would stay here again without reservations.

  • This was a highlight of our honeymoon! Drinks and live music at the bar in the evening was a wonderful end to our travels that day. Hopefully when we visit Ireland in the future we can stay for longer here.

  • Smaller, cheap room in a four-star hotel that exudes grandeur. Very welcoming reception, library, afternoon tea with scones and later a glass of bubbles: you are an ordinary guest - only in the old driver's rooms. A bit noisy here and there, but otherwise: recommended!

  • An incredible atmosphere in the castle . So warm and welcoming. The room is small but an enormously comfy bed, and delighted to see there was a bath. A very, very cosey stay

  • The room is tiny but delightful and very tasteful. The shower was huge and exactly what I wanted. Do not miss an opportunity to stay in this enchanting castle.

    Peter2019-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • This was an extremely nice hotel with upscale furnishings and finishes. This room is one of the smallest rooms beneath the nicer rooms but still allows for guests to explore a beautiful castle and experience the amenities on a budget!

  • Excellent value for what you're paying! Room is quite small but this is accurately described in the room's Airbnb description. Lovely stay overall!

  • Niamh was an excellent host with great recommendations and a well serviced house. Would definitely stay again

  • Gorgeous, stylish, super cozy, and peaceful cottage steeped in history in the wilds of Connemara. We absolutely loved our stay. The heating system and cozy stove warmed the place for us in wild and chilly December, we were so toasty and comfortable. The kitchen is beautiful and modern and all the decor is stylish and comfortable. Great shower and comfortable mattress we slot very soundly. The windows and doors are not only a thing of beauty but keep the howling winds at bay as well as being super insulation. We loved the chilled and easy going vibe of the place. Niamh was really easy to deal with and got back to us promptly on everything. The local area and beaches are so beautiful. Prepare to slow down and unwind. Loved it all!

  • This place is great. Very cozy little farm house just outside of Cleggan. Easy access to beautiful Connemara and the surrounding areas. The place is super cute, with a spacious kitchen and dining room and cozy living room/bedrooms. Clean and well appointed. Niamh was great about communication and extremely hospitable. We’d definitely stay here again!

  • Everything was perfect in Niamh's house! A very pretty house, very well equipped and functional, with a real atmosphere of small house, like at home! Niamh was very responsive and welcoming, with many touches of attention. The house is ideally placed to visit Connemara, and is located 300m from the charming village of Cleggan. The view of the sea from the master bedroom is wonderful! Thanks again !

  • This is a beautiful, comfortable and cosy home in a stunning location. Niamh was great at communicating and check in was very easy. This house is perfect for a relaxing retreat, but also a short stroll to the local village for food. Highly recommend!

  • What a beautiful wonderful place. Niamh is an absolute gem of a host, welcome basket with goodies, epic communication and so warm and wonderful. So sad to have left can’t wait to be back. Look no further stay here you won’t regret it :) The home has such a lovely historic yet updated feel to it. It’s perfect .

  • Naimh's place is warm, comfy and well kitted out, especially for families. it's well placed to take advantage of Connemara or a trip to Inishbofin, Cleggan itself is small but with good food and drink available. Communicating with Nimah was great, she responded quickly and always had an answer. Check in was equally easy. The only thing to note is that the driveway up to the house isn't in the best shape, it has a big pot hole and ridge at the turning and we scratched the front bumper of our car the first time we drove up, so take it cautiously.
