  • Such an amazing cute little cabin. Perfect location and so cozy! We can’t wait to come back.

    Amanda2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you so much for making this home into a great place for my son and his bride to spend their first night as a married couple. They raved about how much they enjoyed being in such a peaceful place. The location next to the creek where you could hear the water rushing by all night was the exact thing they needed to calm them down after the wedding day of many people trying to have that special day with them. They now just needed to be alone and in this quaint place, by the creek, that is exactly what they needed. Thank you so much. Their stay was perfect!

    Keith2019-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin is a perfect nature retreat. We saw deer each day and the sound of the river below the deck was so peaceful. Teresa was quick to respond to any of my questions. I would highly recommend staying here if ever visiting Elkin, NC.

In historic downtown Elkin, this studio apartment is part of a hundred year old home on an acre of land. Walk to shops, restaurants, and the trails along the river (Elkin is a designated Trail Town). Walk to wine tasting or a local brewery! The local Reeves Theatre, with live regional music, only a short 2 blocks away. Only a few minutes drive to the beautiful Yadkin Valley wineries. All welcome. https://www.whatsupinelkinnc.com/ Every guest is special at Magnolia!
Downtown Elkin is fun to explore. There are very few places to stay in the historic downtown, even though it is so centrally located. It's a great spot to be. The studio apartment is perfect for exploration whether you like to shop, try out different foods, hike the trails, bike, canoe, or kayak, listen to live music, or just relax. Most all within walking distance from your Magnolia Retreat. The apartment has a new queen bed and crisp new bedding and pillows. Plenty of storage and room to move. The tv has a fire stick so lots to watch if there's time for tv. Mini fridge, microwave, and coffee machine included for your use. View of the back yard from all parts of the studio with opportunity to catch a look at the resident deer, birds, squirrels, and shy ground hogs. Always something to see! My goal was to produce a relaxing retreat to share with my guests, to offer a place for introspection and peaceful contemplation ( if desired). Or, good tv and great sleep, as well as a new private bathroom for convenience. Now that the warm weather is here, the air conditioning is up and running!
The neighborhood is quiet and serene. Depending on which way the wind is blowing, sometimes you can faintly hear the live music from downtown.
  • We only stayed one night but wish we had stayed longer. Denise was incredible, she couldn’t have been more helpful! Her house is in a great location, very clean, comfortable bed, fresh flowers on the table when we arrived, everything we needed was provided. We will book with Denise again! Billie

    Billie2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Denise's place is quite charming and convenient to downtown. Lots of personal touches to make our stay comfortable. The bed slept well and checking in was simple. There were no issues during our stay. Highly recommend!

    Niki2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • We throughly enjoyed our stay at Magnolia Retreat. The home was immaculate with darling touches like fresh flowers and morning coffee. The location could not be any better...just a short walk to the Reeves Theater and restaurants. Denise was lovely and incredibly helpful and accommodating.

    Amy2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic location. Just down the hill from all Elkin has to offer. We never needed to get in our car.

    Amy2020-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • Denise is an amazing host. Very friendly and accommodating. She was very helpful with local knowledge and anything you might need. Her space is private and quiet. I have been through a lot in recent times and this was a much needed relaxing retreat.

  • Great little studio apartment within walking distance to downtown. Very clean and accommodating. Its a small town, but everything is within walking distance. Angry Troll brewing, Reeves Theatre, and Southern on Main are a 5-10 min walk. For breakfast check out Nana’s. It isnt fancy, but its cheap and good.

    Vic2020-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • Such a wonderful host and a great little Airbnb treasure!

    Kellie2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • My Daughter and myself reserved a night here because it was walking distance to go to a show at Reeves Theater. When we arrived it was raining. Upon checking us in Denise offered a ride to the show and iher number to call for a ride home if needed. She even accepted an invitation to join us for dinner & was an absolute joy with interesting conversation & genuine kindness. After the show we wandered Main Street’s establishments & since the rain had subsided enjoyed a nice walk back to the room. Nice clean room, comfy bed, coffee in the morning. We look forward to another night in Elkin thanks to Denise’s excellent location & welcoming hospitality!

  • Jennifer’s place was a great place for a weekend meet up for my sisters and me. The space was intimate, cozy, and well appointed. The kitchen was able to accommodate our needs for cooking. She thoughtfully has coffee, tea, and snacks for guests. The beds are comfortable and you can tell she really spent time on the decor. The house was very clean also. If you’re need a place in this area, this is a great spot! Very comfortable for 4 guests.

    Annie2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful, cozy space in a perfect location. No ubers or lyfts available, so definitely be prepared for that. Otherwise, this place is perfect for a weekend getaway.

    Evelyn2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Jennifer’s bungalow. It was spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated. The beds were very comfortable and the bathrooms spacious. And it was a great location for exploring many of the areas wineries.

    Alice2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Jennifer's place was absolutely gorgeous. She clearly has a touch for interior design. The place was spacious and had more than enough room for lots of guests. The town itself is small with not much to do but the wineries around are wonderful.

    Samantha2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean and up to date beautiful small home. Perfect for a couple to getaway and enjoy a quiet and relaxing environment as well as a small family. Something for everyone within a few minutes drive. Jennifer was very quick to respond and was very polite.

    James2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Jennifer's Bungalow was wonderful and exactly as pictured! It was so cute, spacious, great accommodations, and a perfect location. It was very quiet and private, but still just minutes away from stores, restaurants, and shops. Jennifer was a great host! She was very quick in communications back and forth and she even had some snacks and a book of local attractions ready on arrival. My family and I had an amazing weekend and cant wait to return!!!!

Secluded in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains on an old dirt road....you will find tranquility. Private entrance on a working farm. Tucked away from the bustle but close enough to wonderful dining, the Yadkin Valley Wine Country and the Mountain to Sea Trail. 10 miles from Elkin or Wilkesboro. 6 vineyards within 5 miles of this central location. A perfect stay for the Wine Festival or Merle Fest or a weekend of wine tasting. Barn available for lodging if needed.
  • What a awesome little barn. So cute and clean. Will definitely be back

    Janet2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing time at Jennifer's place. She was a very communicative host, and even let us bottle feed two baby lambs! The space was clean and comfortable, with everything you need and nothing you don't. Clean modern bathroom, comfortable and supportive bed, strong wifi. Bring slippers or socks in winter, the floor that's not covered in rugs can be cold. The highlight was relaxing surrounded by cute and peaceful farm animals - lambs on one side, Olivia the pig on the other, and four farm dogs running around. Perfect spot close by to more than a dozen wineries. We would definitely stay again!

    Emily2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing and unique Airbnb. So glad we decided to stay here rather than just a plan hotel room. We appreciated the decor of the entire farm house and really felt at home here. The place was also sparkling clean! Would highly recommend to anyone in the area.

    Peter2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • This is a “must stay” location! The pastoral setting and cozy, clean cabin makes for a perfect decompression environment. The lambs are in a field right beside the cabin and cattle are nearby. Good restaurants are a short drive away. You will not regret booking this Airbnb!

    Billie2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful place to stay! Close to a few great vineyards. Perfect for a girls trip to the area! Would definitely stay here again!

    Lauren2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Quaint farmhouse lodging with well-appointed interior. We really enjoyed our stay, the inside was simple and well thought-out with a large comfortable bed and a smaller extra bed (we did not use). It was fun to be around the farm animals (pig, cows, sheep, cats and dogs) who were not obnoxious but were nearby to explore and enjoy. We woke up to watch the sunrise and enjoyed the rustic-chic accommodations. Was the perfect retreat from the local wineries.

    Chris2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • This place was incredible. Right in the middle of the farm with all the animals so close. We normally try to pack our days with things to do when on vacation, but because this place was so great, we spent a lot of time relaxing and hanging out here. Extremely clean & comfortable and would definitely stay again.

    Alex2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Jennifer was wonderful at communication & made sure that I didn’t have any issues with checking into the Airbnb. The views at this location are spectacular. The room was spotless & had amazing amenities. Jennifer even let me & my significant other pet the lamb on the farm. As soon as you arrive to the Airbnb, you’ll receive a warm welcome from a friendly pig lol. The experience was truly amazing & I am grateful for Jennifer’s wonderful hospitality. I strongly recommend booking here. I will definitely book here again in the future without a doubt.

Super cute, art filled cottage, great in-town location on a quiet historic street. Deck off the dining area is high above the ground, nestled among the trees, very private.
Cottage is all one one level (except for the laundry room) and easily accessible.
The neighborhood is charming, with a lovely mix of historic homes. It’s is just a 10-20 minute walk to the downtown area, which is home to the Reeves Theater and cafe, Barking Coyote Bakery, Angry Troll Brewery, Fiddles Pub, Southern on Main, Dirty Joe’s coffee house, Yoga on Main, and many antique shops and much more. Also within walking distance is the Elkin trail, which is great for walking or biking. Many delightful wineries are a short drive away.
  • Peggy was incredibly helpful and responsive. The home is spacious, well furnished and such a great deal. We would certainly stay here again!

  • This house is bigger than it appears. The queen bed was comfortable, there was plenty in the kitchen for whatever you needed. The location is amazing, so close to Main Street Elkin. Peggy was very responsive as well. We had a wonderful stay and will definitely be back if we come back to the area.

    Jill2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Clean, comfortable surroundings for our weekend away. So convenient to outings in Elkin and surrounding areas. Beautiful woodsy view in the neighborhood in the morning!! Quiet and serene!!

    Rick2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely home in a great location close to downtown. Peggy responded quickly when contacted so there was no guesswork. Check-in was easy and check-out was even better. Couldn't have asked for a better stay in Elkin.

    Devon2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed at Peggy’s Air BnB for about 3.5 weeks while in the process of buying a house in the area and starting a new job. This Air BnB is clean, spacious, quiet and perfect for any length of stay! It is situated near downtown Elkin and comes highly recommended by some of the locals. Peggy is a wonderful host and she welcomed me in-person to the area, which I thought was kind. She was consistently prompt with communication and always reminded me that she was available to help when needed. I highly recommend this Air BnB if you’re in the need for somewhere to stay while visiting the area!

    Asha2020-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is much larger than expected and located in the cutest neighborhood right down from the downtown area. Peggy is an absolute excellent host and 10/10 would definitely stay here again.

    Hannah2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • Great space, excellent location to Elkin and Vineyards. Space was much larger than described, very happy overall.

    Erik2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Peggy’s home was much bigger that I expected from the photos. My friends and I had plenty of space to relax and do some puzzles around the house at night! We also loved the little breakfast nook to sit around and enjoy our coffee in the mornings. I loved the neighborhood and took a Sunday morning stroll to check out all of the beautiful old homes in her area.

Built in 1928 and completely restored in 2018, "the olde farmhouse" has the warmth and charm of its history throughout its interior, with all the modern conveniences desired for short stays. Situated next to Carolina Heritage Winery, the views from the back and side of "the olde farmhouse" beautifully encompass two fields of Carolina Heritage Vineyard.
The Olde Farmhouse is located at the top of the hill overlooking Carolina Heritage Vineyard and,in a distance, the Blue Ridge Mountains. If you are looking for a place to enjoy the piece of rural living, this is it!

I will be coming back when it gets warmer to take advantage of the porches with the view of the vineyard. Bring your vinyl records with you to enjoy on the record player. You will love it 💕

Our cabin is located 5 miles from Stone Mountain State Park. There are lots of great hiking and fishing. We are also 20 minutes from historic downtown Elkin. There are several places to shop and delicious local cuisine. Several wineries are within a short drive.
During the summer months cool off with a milkshake from Stone Mountain Country Store. Be sure to check out events at The Reeves Theater. Dirty Joes is a great local coffee shop. If you are an outdoor enthusiast be sure to check out the Mountains to Sea Trail.

Twenty-three acres nestled in the rolling foothills of the Yadkin Pee Dee River Basin along side the southern fork of the Mitchell River.
Enjoy sipping your favorite wines from our local vineyards or a pint from the near by craft brewery secluded from civilization. Don't forget to bring your pets, because your pups will love rolling in the mountains meadow. A large fire pit with access to free firewood makes for a majestic night of tranquility. Inside the cabin are two full size futon beds and one single wood frame bed. We encourage guest to bring their own sheets and blankets/sleeping bags for a more comfortable experience. We also have a wood stove, chairs a coffee tables and a small desk inside the cabin. The land has walking trails throughout the property both along the rivers edge and up the lush mountainside. This space provides a comfortable feel for singles, couples and small gatherings. This space is a camping experience without running water or electricity. We do have clean sheets on all the beds but encourage guest to bring their own bedding to make the experience more comfortable. There is little to no cell reception at the cabin which gives you and your party the opportunity to re-connect with the natural beauty of the sounds and sights that our North Carolina foothills have to offer. (Service may be found for Verizon users atop the hill on the property.) We do have a working outhouse with a toilet and toilet paper. The toilet will flush when water is added. This may require haling water from the rivers edge to the outhouse. We provide the water jugs and guest have made a point to leave one jug of water for the next guest who needs to use the restroom.
This is a completely secluded experience. You may encounter wildlife such as Hawk, Deer, Turkey, Duck, Geese, Blue hearing, Box turtle, Skunk, Raccoon, Black snake (non-venomous) Some near by attractions -Historic downtown Elkin -Stone mountain state park; hiking, scenic views, waterfalls, etc. -Wineries/Breweries (McRitchie Winery & Ciderworks, Elkin Creek Vineyard, Slightly Askew Winery, Brushy Mountain Winery to name a few) Skull Camp Brewery and restaurant, Angry Troll Brewing downtown Elkin. I would be more than glad to give you directions or recommendations on how to get to the waterfall or a winery/brewery in the area.
  • Great getaway spot. It was exactly what I was hoping for. Private, quiet, scenic and just a great spot to unwind.

    Derek2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • From the sound of the river to how secluded it is, this place is perfect to decompress and rest. This was a very pleasant experience!

    Jorge2020-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • Great cabin for rustic camping.

    Mark2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Back a second time, for good reason. Took my two sons (4&2) on a busy trip and it was perfect.

  • Staying at Tanners place has worked out perfectly for me! I have a Bulldog and she loves the nature and animals, deer squirrels and rabbits! Tanner has been great to get to know and work with. The cabin just feels like home and the cooler weather and lack of traffic and friendly people are all great. I would recommend for anyone who wants to unwind and decompress.

    Mathew2019-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • Tanner's cabin is the perfect place to unwind! There is limited cell service which was great. The creek was absolutely gorgeous and we took full advantage of the fire pit and firewood provided. We would absolutely come back and would love to experience it in different seasons! Even though it is secluded and peaceful, it was still only 10-15 minutes from town so we were able to grab groceries and some things we forgot.

    Keeley2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • This place is so beautiful and relaxing.

    Sharon2019-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • Tanner is hospitable and very thoughtful about his guests. It's really worth the effort if you want to test off the grid security. Make sure to have a great car that can handle some of the off-road security necessary to prevent damage to you or your vehicle. Recommend the property.

Come enjoy primitive camping with some modern amenities by the Mitchel River.
The cabin sits on a the back side of a long grassy field beside the south fork of the Mitchel River. The site is secluded and comforting with the sounds of the Mitchell river to one side and the wooded field behind the cabin to the other. At night you can expect a relaxing and completely submersive experience with only the crackling sounds of the burning firewood in the fireplace, a variety of insects singing and the sounds of fresh water rolling over the rocks in the river. The secluded rural area is a great place for star gazing and; when the moon is willing, a lovely moonlit stroll up the winding driveway is a magical one to say the least. The cabin is about 100 square feet and feels much larger with the use of the high ceiling and minimalist furniture that can easily be maneuvered to your liking. First off the futon bed is in-fact very comfortable due to the 1.5 inch mattress pad under the mattress cover. (Note-Bring sheets/blankets/extra pillows to make things even more comfortable) Second and most import to note is the 3-1 A/C,Dehumidifier,Fan. This modern piece of machinery is a lovely addition on those extra hot days and with the help of the always reliable super quiet Honda generator, cold air conditioning is always at your fingertips. For colder nights we we have installed a minimalist convection heater which is mounted on the wall for easy access. It too is powered by the generator. I have created a packet that sits on the coffee table with all the information you need to operate the amenities along with some other information about the surrounding area I believe will help you make the most of your experience. There is no wifi and little cell reception at the cabin. (Save your pics and post them later!!) If you have any further questions regarding the space or surrounding area feel free to reach out.
The surrounding area is the epitome of rural foothills of North Carolina. On your way into the cabin you will see horse's/pastures Cow's/pastures, farm houses and more pastures. Keep your eyes peeled for deer grazing and crossing!
  • This place is so peaceful and reinvigorating. The perfect spot for an affordable writer’s retreat in nature. I spent a month here and succeeded in writing a novel! The cabin is comfortable and you can easily use small kitchen appliances like a tea kettle or crock pot with the help of the generator. The property is beautiful. The river flows right next to the cabin. You’ll see many different species of wildlife and their tracks. I saw deer, owls, and a hawk. The town of Elkin is nearby with everything you could possibly need, including a Walmart and many dining options. I highly recommend this space for anyone needing to relax, unwind, or write a book!

    Starr2019-12-17T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay to listen to the bubbling stream and crickets.

    Mark2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great spot to spend a night when passing through, very peaceful, and the pup loved being able run around.

    Lucas2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect place to spent some time in nature but still have the comfort of a roof and a closed door. Even though I arrived in the dark I had no trouble finding the cabin following Tanner's instructions. The sound of the river right next to the cabin made for a great night's sleep, our Airedale also enjoyed getting to spent some time outside!

    Daan2019-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Cool spot if you’re just looking for a bed to crash on!

    Erin2019-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • Tanner's place is exactly as listed. The futon is surprisingly comfy. With the crisp night air and candles we never used the generated or air unit, but I'm sure on hot days it is amazing to have. We loved sleeping with the windows open and waking up to the sound of the creek and birds chirping. Cannot wait to return in a few weeks!

    Laura2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Great little secluded getaway. Will definitely make it a point to come back to enjoy some more of that quiet and river sound.

    Seth2019-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • Cute little space to camp if you’re like me and would prefer solid shelter over a tent. Close to Stone Mountain which I recommend. And close to dollar general which was nice to go get ice and snacks. We enjoyed it, and my dog did too. We had to run to the gas station a couple times to get more fuel for the generator, which I had no problem with, just something to note if you’re wanting AC every night. my one and only thing I would change is having a clear path to the river without having to maneuver through brush and a little poison ivy here and there. Overall, nice peaceful getaway with thoughtful touches from the host. (Extra candles, bug spray, trash bags, laminated packet about the space, etc)

  • I really enjoyed my stay at this Farmhouse. I stayed just over 2 weeks, as I was working nearby. The peace and quiet after a long day did wonders for me. The bed (main bedroom) was extremely comfortable, and the birds singing in the morning were a happy way to start my day. Weekends I enjoyed the patio and a day trip to Stone Mtn to hike. Really lovely area, and Michelle is great. I would like to stay here again, when next in the area.

    Linda2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • I have loved my stay at the farmhouse. I was working nearby and stayed just over 2 weeks. It has been perfect. I used the kitchen often - and found everything I needed. It's a big, roomy space, with a great view from the windows. I used the laundry on the weekends - which worked out great. I stayed in the biggest bedroom, and the mattress is incredibly comfortable, I slept well! If you want fresh country air - open the windows and hear the bluebirds early in the morning. But for cold days - the heat works great - keeping the house comfy. The water pressure is good with quick hot water. The patio out back - fantastic! Decorated perfectly, I spent lots of time there on my weekends off - with the neighbor dogs keeping me company. Michelle is quick to respond when needed, and has great recommendations for day trips from the house. If the opportunity presents itself, I would definitely stay here again.

    Linda2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay at Michelle’s house. The house was clean, cozy, and very well equipped. Michelle was a great host and was available during check-in and for any questions we had during our stay. We will definitely go back in the future. Thank you Michelle!

    Paula2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Michelle's Place is in such a lovely setting. We especially enjoyed sitting on the back patio en joying the view and the multitude of birds visiting the bird feeders. Out the kitchen window each morning we could watch a beautiful sunrise. The house is so cosy and in a perfect location for exploring the wineries in the Yadkin Valley. We especially enjoyed the small town of Elkin which is only about 8 minutes from the house.

This is our home away from home and we would love to make it yours as well. The cabin is fully furnished with tons of class and charm. Located just minutes away from Stone Mtn. State park, historic down town Elkin and at least 8 wineries. The Blue Ridge parkway is a short drive, but why leave the comfort of the cabins. Take the opportunity to sit on the rear deck and listen to the water cascade over the boulders. Hiking, Biking are all available within the park.
  • My wife and I spent a weekend at The Cascade Cabin and we found the cabin to be so quite and peaceful on the creek stream. Perfectly equipped for two people. A charming place. We hope to stay again sometime. Thanks Ted for making us feel welcome.

  • The cabin was perfect for me and my husband. We were in the area to visit the local wineries and the location of the cabin is perfect. It's 7 mins from two vineyards amd many more are close by. The kitchen was large enough to cook meals. The wonderful stream behind the cabin is an amazing site to view while enjoying coffee in the morning or a glass of wine at night. Ted was very flexible with us when our dates unexpectedly needed to change. We will be back!

The house is adjacent to our primary residence. A previous owner used the home for a doll collection, with some sold to the Smithsonian. The home is walking distance to quaint downtown Elkin, where there are wineries, a brewery, restaurants, and Oct. 2017 the Reeves theater opens as a music venue. Kayaking, canoeing, hiking Stone Mountain, Elkin Valley Mountain to the Sea Trail, antique shopping. Elkin valley has the same viticulture stamp as the NAPA Valley!! Cycling trails nearby.
2000 sq ft home. Two bedroom, two bath with two separate sitting rooms. The home was built in 1942 and has an antique feel. Hotel quality linens. There is a small kitchenette equipped with all you need to make a healthy meal while traveling. There is small stove, microwave, coffee maker, Keurig with K cups, dishes for 6, pots/pans, and a full size refrigerator. Reading room by the fire is great for quiet nights, and a separate family room with Roku, Amazon prime and Spotify. Secure garage for storing bicycles and motorcycles.
Our property is very private, we are off the road. There is a sidewalk that will take you past the high school and onto the library and onto downtown. We have a wonderful public park with tennis courts, a walking trail that takes you along the Elkin Creek. Elkin has access to the Yadkin River for Canoes and kayakers.
  • Very convenient to downtown and to get to other places, such as wineries. Private and quiet. Beds are comfortable, plenty of room. Would definitely recommend it!

  • Omegia’s home was amazing! The two separate rooms were perfect for us and my parents. She greeted us with scones (which my dad loved and was so disappointed he didn’t take them all home) and wine. The home was clean and easy to access. Within minutes of the park and downtown Elkin. The wedding we went to was in roaring river and was only a 16 minute drive which was so convenient. We were also able to bring our pup which was so helpful! Would not hesitate to stay again or recommend!

  • This is a fantastic place to stay. It’s a very spacious and clean house with great amenities. Omegia and Jeff take southern hospitality to the next level. They greet you with a bottle of wine and fresh pastries and when they say “let us know if you need anything else” they really mean it. They are truly the best hosts you could ask for. I can’t recommend this place enough.

    Nick2019-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • The dollhouse is very quaint. Omegia and Jeff are excellent hosts. There was wine and cheese when we checked in and coffee and bagels for breakfast. The house is roomy and had enough space to spread out. The town of Elkin is charming. We enjoyed the angry troll brewery and the barking coyote for coffee on our way out of town.

The cabin at Big Elkin Creek Farm is a true oasis, tucked away in the foothills of NC. A genuine log home built in the 1800's, it is a fully furnished and completely updated. Located in the center of a beautiful 80-acre farm, the cabin is ideal as a couple's getaway, girls weekend,or perfect for a family of up to six. Guests can choose the solitude of the farm, visit the nearby historic town of Elkin and it's nearby wineries, or take in the beauty of the Blue Ridge Parkway and State Parks.
We offer the simpler pleasures of life; a chance to unwind and slow down the pace. We like it when our guests explore the woods, visit the horses, gather their own eggs, fish or swim in the pond. We feel like we have done our duty when your kids stay outside and get dirty! It is really a quiet picturesque place.

  • Great location to explore the area. Barbara was welcoming and gave us some great local tips. We like waterfalls and she directed us to two great options. We visited a few wineries and breweries and enjoyed the peaceful setting of the cabin. We’ll definitely be back.

  • This was the PERFECT getaway for my sisters in law and me, and we’ve already discussed making it an annual tradition. The eggs and jam were a wonderful touch, the beds were incredibly comfy, and you just can’t beat the friendly ducks and adorable baby donkey. Barb also had wonderful recommendations for dinner and wineries. The mornings and evenings on the front porch overlooking the pond were just what we needed. A+++!

  • We loved our stay at Big Elkin Creek Farm! The kids especially loved the friendly ducks, their “cool” upstairs room, the zipline, the homemade blackberry jam, and having a few movies to choose from! Reevestock and the local wineries (including Sunday pizza at Elkin Creek) made great additions to the weekend.

    Jenn2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Barbara was a kind and gracious host who welcomed us warmly on arrival and made sure we had everything we needed. The cabin was just perfect. Everything we wanted for a weekend visiting the wineries and relaxing outside of the city. We were less than 10 minutes from 4 great wineries and only 10 minutes to quaint downtown Elkin too. Fresh eggs in the fridge and homemade strawberry jam was an extra special treat, not to mention the sweet ducks that greeted us daily. We especially loved sitting on the rockers on the front porch morning and night soaking in the peaceful setting.

  • We like this place so much we have stayed a few times. It’s very clean, very cozy and has everything you need. It’s private but close to town. Jeff and Denise respond you any questions promptly! It is one of our favorite places to stay!

  • Best cabin we’ve stayed at in Elkin! Incredible night sky views, cozy cabin, friendly cows who visit periodically and very clean! We couldn’t have asked for more!

  • Thé cabin is beautiful. The property is beautiful. More than I expected. Would definitely stay again.

    Jody2019-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin is a hidden gem. It's very clean, has great amenities. It's close enough to downtown Elkin but also off the main roads, so you get all the quite and peace you would want. Jeff & Denise were very kind enough to let us park at the property sooner than our check-in time to catch our wine tour. They gave us some great local tips and one of them we could visit was Carter falls and loved it. We were excited to see the horses around the cabin too. My personal favorite about their cabin was the night sky view it offers. If the weather conditions are right (and if you're willing to stay up a bit late night), you can actually see the milky way band from their porch. We loved our stay and are definitely coming back!

The location was easy to find — close to several wineries, yet off the beaten path on a gorgeous working ranch. There were so many thoughtful touches that we can’t wait to go back for another visit. We enjoyed every moment!

  • Should hardly be called a “cabin” as it is in tip top shape, sparkling clean, and has modern appliances. The owner is incredibly warm, kind, and open to providing behind the scenes tours. I have had allergies and this place was perfect- hardwoods, mattress and pillow covers, pet free, etc. We so loved interacting with the animals onsite (llamas, alpacas, cats, goats, cows, etc.). I have unfairly high standards and this property exceeded them. Cannot wait to stay here again!!

    Alyssa2019-11-24T00:00:00Z

  • This place was wonderful! I spent the first 20 minutes just walking through the house looking at all of the Christmas decorations. Then I went on a mission to learn more about the house because I felt like I stepped back in time. My favorite was getting up on New Years morning and journaling in front of the fire in the living room - such a magical place. We will definitely be back!

  • “Home away from home”, that’s exactly how our visit felt to the Rockford Inn. We arrived after a long hike at Hanging Rock, checked in quickly, showered and headed to a wine tour and tasting. There were muffins and cookies in the kitchen and a basket of treats in our bedroom awaiting us! The accommodations were spacious and comfortable and the public spaces were clean and beautifully decorated. We will definitely be coming back for another visit. Thank you Hannah!

  • Beautiful house with all your needs met. Special stay with a nice living room, big kitchen and rooms. Beautiful property with vines behind, nice sitting areas etc. Wonderful place to stay to relax and enjoy all that Yadkin Valley has to offer. Super close to a few vineyards also...Stony Knoll, Herrera.

  • The house is an old southern country Dream and the yard with a beautiful old Oak and Magnolia and various sitting nooks for sipping drinks completes it. Decorated for style and comfort. We stayed in the Mt. laurel room, upstairs. It was clean and cozy and thoughtfully set-up.

  • My wife and I spent 1 night here to celebrate our anniversary as we were going to a concert at Shelton Vineyards, and the local hotel was full. I stumbled upon this place, and so glad I did! It is in the perfect location if you're coming to visit the Yadkin Valley Wine country. You are literally in the heart of it! The house was rustic and beautiful! There is a full kitchen that is yours to use(which we did), refrigerator, plenty of coffee, and porches and patios to relax, and even a place to sit out back and relax next to a fire. Don't forget to go to the Rockford General Store just down the road - an old throwback general store that makes you feel like your back in the 50's. The Yadkin River is a stone's throw away. I'm so glad the hotel was full or I would have never found Hannah's place. We will definately be back!

  • Another great extended weekend at the Rockford Inn. This was at least our 10th time staying at the Inn and we have never been disappointed. Rooms are always clean and the house has such character. It is a great place to stay for any weekend winery trip to the Yadkin Valley.

  • This is a great place to stay!! You will not be disappointed. The location is great! Close to many wineries. Quiet. Super CLEAN! Hannah is great! You will love it here. We have stayed in two of the three rooms.. (the suite and Glen Laurel) would recommend either one. I am quite sure the other one is wonderful also!!

  • Hannah’s bed and breakfast was beautiful and charming! The room we stayed in was detached from the main house, but we had access to the main house and all it’s amenities. It was cozy and perfect for our weekend stay for a wedding in the area. Hannah was a great host and easy to communicate with. Everything was easy and went off without a hitch!

  • We had a wonderful time at the Rockford Inn! So peaceful, loved having morning coffee looking out at the vineyards! Really enjoyed chatting with Hannah😊

  • Nice little spot to rest in between vineyards.

  • Beautiful old home with comfortable bedrooms. 2nd time staying there and would do it again.

    Kimberly2019-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Quiet, quaint atmosphere that’s secluded, yet personal. Hannah was ready to help and available upon request. Should we ever be in the area again, we will be returning visitors!

  • Quaint & charming room with just the right amount of space for my daughter and I. Loved our stay!

    Lori2019-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful time! Classic historical home with modern amenities like WiFi, cable TV with option of just a quiet relaxing stay reading book in your room or in the main living area checking out the magazines left out for the guests. Bed was very comfortable. Coffee was always available either in your room or the kitchen. Wish weather had been better to explore the grounds a little more as it is so quiet and the vineyard is beautiful! Maybe next time. :). Hannah is the quintessential hostess who will go out of her way to make your stay pleasant and comfortable. Very well appointed but also keeps with the historicity of the house while making it so comfortable. We couldn’t have asked for more! Well located to many of the wineries in the area. If you’re looking to experience some local history in a peaceful relaxing atmosphere (and at a very reasonable price we must say) this is it! Thanks for a top notch stay!

    Wayne And Holly2019-06-09T00:00:00Z
  • It's a very lovely house and a lovely room. The area is very quiet, I enjoyed sitting on the back porch and looking to the vineyards. I reserved on short notice, nevertheless Hannah arranged everything for me and made sure I find everything I need in the house.

This 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom vacation rental cabin in Dobson offers unmatched privacy and solitude for maximum peace and relaxation for a family or a group of 6 guests. Built from refurbished wood from an old tobacco barn, this cabin is truly one-of-a-kind! Dobson is in the heart of North Carolina Wine Country, and home to many leading wineries and vineyards. Beautiful parks nearby offer outdoor activities for everyone in your group!
Master Bedroom: Full Bed | Bedroom 2: 2 Full Beds | Detached Cabin (Available April-October): 2 Twin Beds This charming wooden cabin features all the necessary amenities and comforts of home, including a fully equipped kitchen, in-unit washing machines, air-conditioning, wood burning stove, and flat-screen cable TVs in each bedroom and the living room. Floor-to-ceiling wood construction and beautiful craftsmanship make this home the perfect rustic retreat! As you stand in the focal point of the home, you’ll find yourself in a fully-equipped kitchen, separated from the living area by a stone hearth fireplace. The fireplace faces into the living room, making the space a dream come true for relaxing at the end of the day. The living room has ample seating and comfortable sofas facing a flat-screen cable TV. Each bedroom is decorated with a country-rustic feel, featuring comfortable bedding and en suite bathrooms. If you're traveling with more than 6 guests, there is a "little cabin" on the property with 2 twin beds that can be rented for an additional fee from April through October. The cabin sits in a clearing surrounded by mature trees, among 6 acres of heavily wooded forest, making it a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Just a short walk through the woods, you’ll find a lovely bubbling creek. Off the back of the property sits a peaceful deck, where you can sit on the porch swing and sip some local wine!
** Please note that the cabin is isolated and a high clearance vehicle is recommended, as the cabin is located at the end of a short dirt/gravel road, but can become bumpy depending on rainfall ** The property offers access to all that the Heartland Region of North Carolina has to offer, including numerous parks, a huge selection of local wineries, and more. Shelton Vineyard is just a 5-minute drive from the cabin, offering tours and tastings throughout the day. With it’s mineral rich soil and family-centric approach to business, you’ll want to stay awhile and check out this 400-acre estate. Make your way to Old North State Winery in the middle of downtown Mount Airy, 30-minutes from the cabin. With regular open mic nights and live musical performances, it’s a great place to bring the group! When you’re ready to explore the beautiful outdoors of North Carolina, hop in the car and check out nearby Pilot Mountain State Park. Rent a kayak or canoe and float down the lazy Yadkin River, explore the miles of woodland on horseback, or check out the 2 mountain pinnacles, rising more than 1,400 feet!
  • Wow! I mean this space is so different than anywhere else I’ve stayed. The cabin is rustic and authentic. It’s extremely charming, cozy and inviting. We never wanted to go anywhere, but with Pilot Mt state park nearby we absolutely had too. That’s not to mention all of the great restaurants that are available. Or all of the excellent vineyards. And small hospitable towns and scenic country roads. This is a place for rest, relaxation and activities to suit any lifestyle. Our recommendation for an upscale dinner is the Harvest Grill at the Shelton Vineyards.

    Ron2019-04-20T00:00:00Z
  • This place is great for folks looking to get off the beaten path/spend some time in a quiet cabin setting. Pay attention to the written directions provided by the host. You’ll need ‘em! Checking in was a breeze. We checked out some of the wineries in the area. You’ll find a number of wineries in the area; we went to a winery as far as 30 minutes and as near as 5 minutes from the cabin. Overall, this place was fantastic and fit four adults and a child quite comfortably. It’s a neat cabin setting. Our only suggestion for improvement would be to allow guests to check out later than 10 a.m. (perhaps even 11 a.m. or 12 p.m.).

Welcome to Creekside Cabins, This is our home away from home and we hope you enjoy our cabin as much as we do. Located at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mtns. Only 5 miles to Stone Mtn. State Park, with at least 8 wineries within 10 miles. Just a short drive to historic town of Elkin with beautiful walking, biking and hiking trails, also kayaking and canoeing are very popular thru the Yadkin river valley.
Elkin is like a trip back in time. A time when things were just a little slower, when you met a stranger on the road and the still through their hand up to say hello. Our community has stayed small and simple retaining that charm that was lost years before. The wine industry has been a mini boom to our small community bringing thousands here on an annual basis. I have heard our visitors for years talk about how special our community is ...we just call it ...home.
  • The place is really really great it was a great experience I enjoyed the Cabin. was really nice clean quiet you guys are going to love it everything you need it was there.

  • Perfect getaway with the ambience of a rushing stream, plenty of outdoor options to sit and relax plus a fire pit to enjoy. Every option is available and the cabin is clean and cozy.

  • It was a wonderful place to get away!

    Devon2019-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was stunning! We were able to use the fire pit and make s’mores, the creek right outside was beautiful and listening to it was a very peaceful way to fall asleep. Ted responded to all of my questions leading up to my stay. I would love to come back and visit in the spring or summer so that I can sit outside on the pouch and listen to the creek a little longer!

  • This cabin is a great romantic getaway as it is the perfect size for two. Everything was very clean. We cooked while there and though we brought some cookware/cooking utensils specific to what we were making such as a baking dish, it seemed I could have fared well with what was there--the kitchen had plates, bowls, utensils, spatula and other cooking utensils, dishtowels, dishwashing detergent, oven mitts, etc. Note the oven is tiny/narrow, but was great for what we needed it for. Nice washer and dryer. Fresh set of towels and wash clothes. Smart TV with Netflix and Hulu! The best part of the cabin was the extensive porches that overlook a beautiful creek. Nice grill outside if you want to grill out.

    Kaitlyn2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • We loved this cozy hideaway with everything we needed. Our only visitor was a deer who came to check on us as we enjoyed our morning coffee from creek-side seats. This is the perfect place to come forget that the outside world exists. Thanks to Ted, who was so accommodating and quick to respond to a multitude of questions.

  • So great we extended our stay! If you want peace and quiet and love wine, this is the place to stay! We had a wonderful time and the cabin felt like a home away from home with all amenities you could need. Jennifer and the staff were very accommodating, and made us feel welcome. Great spot to visit all the local wineries and breweries in the area. Close to downtown Elkin which is a cool little town. We will definitely be back!

  • Great place for dogs. Enjoyed the peacefulness and the ability to let my dogs run off leash. The winery had awesome service and very friendly. Not to mention great wine. Did the free sampling and ended up purchasing 6 bottles. The cabin is a little small but it is as described. And expected. Would stay again. Thank you Jennifer for quick responses !

    Laura2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Jennifer, our thanks to you and Sanders Ridge once again for your hospitality. The cabin is just as sweet and cozy as we remembered it to be and even more special since we were able to bring along our fur baby Wilma. She had a blast exploring the woods and the creek while we enjoyed ourselves at the tasting room, thoroughly entertained by Tracy and Shannon. We could listen to their stories for hours! The cabin is equipped with everything we needed for a long weekend stay and centrally located for easy access to other favorite vineyards. Thank you once again for making the process so very easy and providing us with some much needed down time. See you again soon! Stephanie & Bill, Wilmington NC

  • Very cute cabin! The fireplace was a nice touch. Close to so many wineries, we had a great weekend winery hoping!

  • Had a great time at the cabin! Very quiet, remote, and relaxing. Just what we needed as a get-away! They did have lunch Sunday at the winery, which was great. Staff there were nice and welcoming. Jennifer was very responsive.

  • WE LOVED OUR CABIN STAY! My wife and I booked the cabin as a getaway trip to celebrate her birthday. We can’t stop raving about the weekend. The cabin is super cozy and just perfect. The vineyard is absolutely beautiful; we enjoyed morning and afternoon hikes with our two dogs off leash—they loved it too! The staff at the winery was kind, helpful, and the wine was great! We hope to stay again.

    Hayden2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I stayed in the cabin a couple nights to celebrate our one year anniversary. The vineyard was gorgeous and the cabin was so cozy and inviting! It was equipped with all the amenities we needed for our two-night stay. The vineyard's full- service restaurant is no longer in operation, so we were happy to have the kitchenette for cooking little meals for two. We really enjoyed our getaway and especially enjoyed tasting the vineyard's fantastic wines!

    Tressa2019-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Five stars isn’t enough to rate the location and value! This cabin was an amazing getaway. So peaceful and serene. It’s almost a shame that there was so much to see and do (and drink) in the area because we would have loved to just stay on Sanders Ridge for the whole weekend. We ended up spreading ourselves so thin on time at the vineyard that we nearly missed the live music on Saturday. Great times! The cabin itself has everything you’ll need except some grub. So perfectly maintained and clean. Plenty to do on a rainy day too. We especially enjoyed strolling around the vineyard and pond. Too bad that we missed out on the zip line! I really can’t wait to get back to Sanders Ridge!
