Places to stay in Mdina
Experience an authentic Maltese townhouse newly transformed into a quaint, upmarket guesthouse, just outside the beautiful "Silent City" Mdina. Located at first floor, the spacious triple room has been designed with romance and nostalgia in mind. A beautifully restored original brass bed takes you back in time to Malta a century ago. This room leads to a smaller room with an extra single bed, a small kitchenette and back balcony with beautiful garden views.
The room has a small desk/dining table and an open wardobe. The kitchenette is small but fully-equipped for basic cooking. A small spa-inspired bathroom complements the romantic feel of the room. The house is perfectly located for visiting places of interest, dining out and much more, yet for when you choose to stay in, the room is equipped with the latest tv technology offering thousands of channels, as well as a sound system - just plug in any device and relax!
The house is located 5 minutes walk from Mdina gate, just across the street from Howard Gardens and 200 metres away from Roman Villa. One minute walk away is the Rabat Interchange where several buses depart for Valletta (45min journey) and all other significant destinations. Also a few minutes walk away from many fine restaurants and bars, shops, baker, pharmacy, bank, souvenir shops, fine clothing and jewellery. The alley on the first corner will take you into a labyrinth of alleys where you can get a glimpse of the locals’ daily life and activities in the heart of Rabat. The location is only 5km away from Dingli Ciffs and 10km away from the nicest beaches on the island Ghajn Tuffieha Bay, Golden Bay, Popeye's Village and Mellieha Bay (all are one bus ride away). Sitting on top of a hill overlooking a large portion of the island, Mdina is one of Europe’s finest examples of an ancient walled city and extraordinary in its mix of medieval and baroque architecture. Impressive palaces line its narrow, shady streets. Mdina has become a major tourist attraction. Rabat, the village that neighbours Mdina, on the other hand, is known for its quiet, more rural character and natural beauty. It is also well established on the tourist map due to its archaeological and historical sites, amongst which The Roman Villa (Domus Romana), catacombs, St. Paul's Grotto and the fine churches and monasteries. Rabat is also known for one of the few forested areas the country knows, at Buskett, the entrance to which can be found on the outskirts of the village. The house is fronted by Howard Gardens, a very well-maintained public landscaped garden, with the ditch below forming a natural border between Rabat and Mdina. It offers a good sight-seeing spot on one end, plenty of benches to sit and relax in the shade of the trees, as well as a kiosk serving drinks and light lunches or snacks. Places to visit in the area: Palazzo Falson Historic House Museum, Mdina Cathedral, Mdina Glass, St. Paul's Cathedral Museum, Fontanella tea gardens, Palazzo de Piro, Mdina Dungeons, The Knights of Malta, National Museum of Natural History, and a lot more! As for crazier nightlife, though the very young might tend to look for accommodation in St. Julians area which is the mecca of nightlife in Malta, it is worth mentioning that two of Malta’s largest and most popular nightclubs outside of Paceville/St. Julians area, are located on the outskirts of Rabat. Gianpula Complex and Numero Uno, both of which are open from Friday to Sunday with various events and international dj’s throughout summer, are located a short taxi ride away from our guesthouse.
  • A perfect room with a lovely little kitchen! Excellent location, very clean, all round great :)

  • Caroline was a great host. From the beginning to the end, she was there to make our stay more comfortable and convenient. Communication was flawless. Accommodation: Great location, close to Mdina old city, just 5-10 minutes walk. The bus station is just across the street. Very convenient to go everywhere by foot. The room was specious and the bed was comfortable, however a little bit squeaky (old, traditional bed). The accommodation was clean. The bathroom was clean. Caroline: awesome host! We were able to make everything work and whatever question we had, Christine was open to help us. Thanks for having us!

  • Wonderful Place...

  • This is a lovely room in a lovely house full of character, in a great location. Just step out and walk through historic streets. Parking was ok in feb but I think it would be a struggle In summer however the house is near several bus stops. Plenty to do, plenty to see. The room and house were really pretty, and would very happily stay again.

    Martin2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • First off the location of Caroline's place is amazing. It's just steps away from Mdina and the Crystal Palace (where you will find the best Pastizzi's). It was super easy to get in, with key pad locks on the front door and bedroom. The bathroom and room was super clean! The definite selling point is that from the front door you can see Mdina.

    Laj2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • Gorgeous’Boutique’ space within a gorgeous building with a handsome staircase, Maltese tiles throughout and a sweet Juliette balcony. We spent a lot of time in the apartment and cooked all of our meals there. The kitchenette was tiny but did the job. The pastizzi shop on the square was a gem but beware!!!! You could return home a lot heavier than when you arrived! It’s very well located with everything on your doorstep. Rabat is a special town of its own without the Mdina opposite. Christine has written an amazing informative and honest document about Malta’s sights and I read this front front to back and back again. Very helpful. We loved it 💘

    Karen2020-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • If you are visiting especially to see Mdina it’s 2 minutes at most. Great value for price so don’t expect extras. Busses 1 minute

  • Caroline was really nice and the room is simply delightful! The scent of laundry on the linen, the colors of Malta, the softness of the bed ... and then the best pastizzi of the island not to be missed ... but above all Malta all around. If you are looking for silence, give yourself a dream :)

Experience an authentic Maltese townhouse newly transformed into an upmarket guest house, in an excellent location right outside the fortified hill-top settlement of Mdina, the Silent City, with the town's bus interchange only one minute walk away. Being the smallest, the single room is mostly suited for solo travellers. The room is equipped with the latest tv technology offering thousands of channels. Free wifi throughout.
Located at first floor level, this is the smallest room in the house, yet still has a small kitchenette with basic cooking equipment, and a private shower bathroom. Being very limited in space and amenities, this room is mostly suited for solo travellers, yet the bed, being 130cm, can easily fit 2 people. Its Moroccan-inspired design with a bed platform and a vivid colour scheme makes it a cheerful space for solo travellers. Although it is the cheapest room, it has not been spared of super comfortable bedding as well as large rotating flat screen tv with thousands of channels and including browser.

  • Amazingness, the decor and facilities were great, best nights sleep I've had yet since being in Malta. I wholeheartedly recommend this place if it is available, location is perfect too, didn't even realise until I stepped out the door the next day.

  • Great location right next to bus stops, 1 min to a pastizzi place (Crystal Palace) and about 2 min to Mdina Gate. Loads of restaurants nearby. The room has a surprisingly well equipped kitchen considering the size - it is a small place but it was perfectly fine for the two of us for a short stay. The bed is very comfy.

  • a wonderful apartment in (almost) perfect location! Located on a main street, but the very good facilities are just wonderful. The super-large terrace with a beautiful view of medina, the cleanliness and comfort made us feel at home. The very quick communication with the landlady is helpful and so no wishes were left open! thanks caroline-- and we would love to come back!

    Michelle2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • We loved the place, the penthouse flat has got a great terrace with views over Mdina and there is daylight coming in from everywhere, so many windows with different sights! The living room and the bedroom are spacy and well decorated and so is the bathroom. But the kitchenette is really small and it´s a bit difficult to wash the dishes in the small sink. It´s a perfect location for visiting Mdina and Rabat and the bus stop is just over the street.

A house of charm, history and character awaits you on the island of Malta, a land of ancient temples and old traditions. 7 Batholomew Street is located centrally between two great Maltese destinations - Mdina, the silent city, formerly the ancient capital of Malta and Rabat the birth place of Christianity on the islands. Enjoy an authentic experience within the 16th century walls of this 500 year old town house. Do you need a larger house? see "500 year old house Labini str. Mdina, Rabat"
Keeping romance alive without resorting to typical clichés is not always easy, a 16th century moon and candle lit house can greatly transform your mood, but our main tip here is to keep things simple and explore the wonders of the 500 year old setting together as a couple. A unique evening deserves a special location and spending a night at 7 Batholomew will marry the two perfectly. Take one of small streets to meander through the city to experience the unique character firsthand. Whisk that special someone off for a birthday, anniversary or romantic getaway with style. Be spontaneous. Be affectionate. And trust us, being romantic on otherwise ordinary days is a sure way to earn extra points. Fully renovated in 2016, open space with a lot of charm. Boasts two large rooms on ground level and one at basement level

  • Great old house but newly furnished, exactly like at photos. Amazing location. Great host, on arrival we had yogurts, fruits, bread so wasnt need to go shopping right away. Only thing even with conditioner was bit cold but not that much we were expecting at winter anyway. Highly recommended if you want feel local vibe

  • Lovely home just a quick walk from the main gate to Mdina. We really enjoyed exploring the neighborhood in Rabat and meeting the friendly neighbors. Marthese met us at the apartment while we were getting settled and pointed out all the places to get good food. We tried all of her suggestions and were never disappointed. She also had some fresh bread and fruit available in the apartment to welcome us.

Our antique house is ideal for couples and families with children. It is well equipped to make one's trip fully satisfying, having everything that one finds in a home. Breakfast is provided on a self-serving basis. Kitchen / dining area and all bedrooms are fully air-conditioned and there are 2 cable TV's in the house. Parking and bus terminus are both very close. Rabat in itself has a lot to offer; museums, catacombs, churches, gardens, restaurants and the picturesque old city of Mdina.
The 600 year old house is modernly refurbished, but we made sure to keep its character and charm. The street used to make part of the old city Mdina before the Arabs reduced its size to be able to fortify it better. One can notice this when walking along these narrow quiet streets.
Although Rabat is a touristic location, the area is still very quiet and calm. Parking is not difficult either as there is a parking field (free of charge) just a few meters away.
  • It was a pleasure to live in this wonderful house that preserves the specific features of Maltese architecture, but with great care for the contemporary living functions that provided all the necessary comfort. It is a perfect combination between tradition and modernity! The house is very well located, only 5 minutes from the main gate Mdina and with many restaurants around. I will definitely return to this place!

  • A typical house full of charm, we appreciated the touches of Janice's attention (good addresses, bottle of wine on arrival) and the location of the house 2 steps from Mdina (ideal for the start of the marathon).

  • Janice's place is really a home away from home. There are so many thoughtful touches, we had a wonderful stay and could really relax. The location is fantastic, quiet and peaceful but with everything you need within walking distance. The house is beautifully restored and very charming. Janice was also super -helpful when I had a couple of queries. Thank you for everything!

Having restaurants and coffee shops and a great view of Malta from the bastions. A 5 minute walk away there is the village of Rabat which includes all necessities shops and history aswell.
  • If you are looking for a cozy place where you can feel and taste Mdina's vibes Josephine's apartment is the perfect spot! Located in a calm street of Mdina old city the apartment is an ancient building (13th century ca.)made out of stone. This makes the place already pretty special (I think there few airb&bs in such ancient building)and Josephine has created a cozy and warm enviroment that makes the apartment even more appealing. I suggest everyone to stop in the beautiful Mdina for some relaxing time and fully enjoy Josephine's apartment!

  • The location, being in Mdina, in our opinion, is the best place to stay in Malta. It’s a beautiful historic walled city and central for travelling all over the island. It’s quiet. There are good restaurants and everyone is helpful and friendly. Josephine is the perfect host. She is attentive, kind, friendly, very quick to reply to messages & helps to organise anything you need. Her home is a happy mix of ancient character and modern living: high ceilinged stone walls & good WiFi. There’s an air of space created by the arrangement of the furniture & decor for a small cosy home. It’s perfect for a couple. We loved it!

  • The opportunity to stay in such a unique home was greatly appreciated. The history of the flat and of Mdina is remarkable. The host is a warm person who seems to enjoy getting to know her guests and who did everything she could to make us feel welcome. Amenities are basic, we did find it a bit cold because the temperature drops at night and we didn't want to leave the gas heater on all night, and the local church bells ring regularly and loudly, but none of that mattered because it is such a magical and unique place. We would love to return one day.

  • This very rare opportunity to stay in Mdina is one that cannot be passed over. The apartment was absolutely charming and cozy, with it's 800 year old ambiance in full effect. It's right next to Saint Paul's cathedral and one can feel the spirit and history of the Silent City. Josephine is an incredible host who STILL met me outside the apartment at 2:00 A.M. (cancelled flight) and responded to every inquiry promptly and completely. I hope to have another opportunity to stay in her apartment again.

  • Josephine is an incredible host. She accommodated us as we figured out our schedule and made us feel right at home. I am so happy we decided to stay in “the silent city” feeling like a resident. It was truly an adventure and a magical experience. We loved it so much we even looked at real estate! Stay here and have a purely Malta Experience!!!

  • Beautiful place in a great location. We would highly recommend.

    Joshua2020-01-28T00:00:00Z
  • The property was fantastic, quiet, quirky, old, just brilliant. The real treat was the host though - Josephine could not have done more to make our stay more welcome... and she makes a delicious cake!

  • Experience traditional living in Mdina with all the comforts of home. Great shower with hot water. Well equipped kitchen and very cozy. Josephine was very helpful and kind and cleaned the place several times and delivered clean sheets and towels multiple times.

Remodelled duplex in exceptional location of St. Paul's Square with a bedroom and living-room balcony overlooking the Mdina cathedral. All possible amenities within. Comfortable space to base yourself in whilst exploring the glorious 'Silent City'.
This property is a large duplex one bedroom townhouse within the main square of Mdina or L-Imdina, Malta's old capital city. Mdina is a fortified Medieval City of around 300 inhabitants. It is one of Europe's finest examples of an ancient walled city and is extraordinary in its mix of medieval and baroque architecture. This property is found in one of the most prominent and outstanding locations in the ancient walled city of Mdina. Living in Mdina is comparable to residing in an open air museum. It is a perfect location for those who enjoy culture and for those who would truly like to experience residing in this magnificent city steeped in history where everything is within walking distance. Its location cannot be emphasised enough - not only is it situated WITHIN the walled city of Mdina (not in other towns such as Rabat, Bahrija, Mtarfa or Mosta nor in the outer-limits of Mdina), but it is situated in St. Paul's Square, the main centre of his city. The property has been recently renovated with modern furnishings. The final result is a comfortable property that can host 3 people both in the summer and winter months. Its location and nature make it perfect for small groups of 2 and 3. For potential guest's convenience, here is a general description of the layout of the house. It is spread over 2 floors connected by a spiral staircase. The ground floor consists of an entrance room that acts as the dining room. A circular table dominates this room, providing adequate seating capacity for our guests. The large front door provides a readily accessible source of natural sunlight where one can enjoy one's meals. One then proceeds into a recently re-modelled kitchen that has been supplemented with all amenities. These include a cooker, oven, fridge, freezer, microwave, kettle etc. There is also a washing machine and an ironing board set for our guests convenience. The washing amenities consist of a quaint shower room with a separate loo. The top floor consists of a large bedroom and living room with a separate writing area. The main feature of this comfortable area is a spacious balcony, accessible from both the bedroom and living room, that overlooks palatial views of the Mdina Square and the Cathedral of Malta. The large bedroom that overlooks the Cathedral of Malta comfortably sleeps 2 people, in 2 single beds or 1 large double bed (as the single beds can be adjoined together). The property can host another person in a folding bed should you be a group of 3 individuals. The living room consists of recently upholstered sofas that provide a perfect place for one to relax, read a book and simply watch the time go by, from one of Mdina's best locations. In this room we provide numerous books, maps and touristic information that all guests to Mdina will find useful. The option to sit on the balcony in Malta's glorious weather and enjoy such activities in the fresh air is a unique perk of this property. On the top floor, one also finds a small study area, where a cosy desk is situated under a window. We will do our utmost to ensure that you will enjoy your stay in Mdina.
Mdina or L-Imdina is one of Europe's finest examples of an ancient walled city and extraordinary in its mix of medieval and baroque architecture. The history of Mdina traces back more than 4000 years old and is one of Malta's earlier inhabited places. Lamp lit by night and referred to as "The Silent City", Mdina is fascinating to visit for its timeless atmosphere as well as its cultural and religious treasures. It was home then, as now, to Malta's noble families. Impressive palaces line its narrow, shady streets. The town was the old capital of Malta, and with its narrow streets, few inhabitants and beautiful views over the Island it is truly a magical town. Mdina is situated in the north west of the island of Malta. The property itself is situated in the historical treasure that is the Medieval city of Mdina. It is located in the most prominent area in Mdina: right in front of St. Paul’s Square, overlooking Malta’s majestic cathedral: the cathedral of St. Paul. We are comfortable stating it is the most prominent position in Mdina. For a list of things to do in Mdina: http://www.malta.com/en/about-malta/city-village/mdina. Particular highlights include the Natural History Museum in Palazzo Vilhena, the Carmelite Church, Palazzo Falzon, St. Paul's Cathedral, the Cathedral Museum, the Mdina Experience, Mdina Dungeons, Mdina Bastions and the Banca Giuratale amongst other attractions. A variety of cafes, wine bars, restaurants and museums are within walking distance from the property. Mdina is also extremely close to the delightful town of Rabat which can also boast of its own attractions. St.Paul's Church, the Roman Villa, St. Paul's Catacombs and grotto are not to be missed! According to local tradition, this grotto is the place where St Paul resided after he was shipwrecked on the island of Malta. Mdina is close to many sandy beaches. Gnejna bay, Golden Bay, Riviera can be reached by 10 minutes with a car. There are also quick bus routes to these beaches. For those seeking the rural, quiet and calm Malta, Mdina and Rabat can be used as the starting point for some of the most interesting walks in the country-side on the island. One can visit nearby Dingli, Bahrija, Bingemma, Imtahleb, Kuncizzjoni, Lunzjata, Chadwick Lakes and Verdala Castle. These spots offer a glimpse of rural Malta, far-removed from the urban life. The property can be used as base to visit most sites in Malta such as Valletta, the 3 Cities, Marsaxlokk, Sliema, St. Julian's, Hagar Qim and Mnajdra Temples amongst other attractions given the regular bus services that pass by Mdina. Should you be travelled with children, we can guarantee that the trip will be enjoyable for them. Just outside Mdina is a playground and a large garden right underneath the city bastions. One can also enjoy a traditional horse carriage ride or a ride on the trackless ‘train’ that will take you around the roads of Rabat and Mtarfa (adjacent towns to Mdina). An audio visual display of the Mdina Experience or a visit to the Mdina dungeons can also offer a unique cultural experience. Mdina and the surrounding areas also host several traditional Feasts and Festivals. These include: The Feast of St. Joseph celebrated in March, Rabat. Medieval Mdina celebrated in April, Mdina where The Silent City comes to life with a Medieval theme. Entrance fees for all museums and attractions in Mdina are reduced. Easter Week: there is a Good Friday pageant celebrated in Rabat where Christ's passion and crucifixion are depicted by statues born aloft through the streets of Rabat. The Feast of St. Peter and St. Paul celebrated on the 29th June in Mdina. The Feast of St. Paul is also celebrated in July in Rabat. Overall Mdina is a remarkable city that deserves to be visited at the very least. The opportunity to base yourself here during your stay is one that should be grasped.
  • I had a great stay in Andrea's house. The house itself was really comfortable, with everything I needed for the holiday. But the location is amazing, right in the middle of the fascinating walled city of Mdina. It's great being able to leave the front door and walk around the streets at night, as well as sitting in the house (or in bed) looking out at the cathedral. Mdina is also really well located for getting everywhere else in Malta and Gozo, by car or bus.

    Zaki2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Joanna (Andrea's mother) was so kind and thoughtful to us throughout our stay.

  • Friendly, practical hosts and a beautiful location - absolutely perfect for a week on the island.

  • Outstanding location and perfect hospitality I don’t think you could stay in a more authentic beautiful Maltese apartment steeped in history. The location was stunning. Being there before and after the crowds arrive and listening to the Cathedral bells will stay with me for a long time. It had everything you needed and there was food, coffee, tea, milk, water and ham in the fridge which was useful as there isn’t a grocery shop as such in Mdina. I ate at Bacchus restaurant which was lovely. There is a good really good bus service to lots of places on the island. There were 2 strong heaters which I needed in the evening. Plenty of hot water! It was lovely to meet Joanna who was incredibly helpful and supportive and close by should you need anything. I would love to stay there again. I felt like a local. It was stunning. Elaine

  • The location and the view of the apartment were fantastic. Even though we were in the apartment in January, the oil radiators provided warmth. The contact with Joanna was very warm and Andrea sent us helpful tips. We had a very nice stay in this apartment at the turn of the year.

  • We spent a couple of days in Malta and enjoyed our staying a lot! Our apartment in Bugibba was very comfortable and extremely clean. We found everything what we needed - extra blankets, a hairdryer and samples of cosmetics. The kitchen, hall and our room were really nice and well-equipped. We got to Valetta, Mdina, Gozo and other places with no problems - bus stops were all around the district. Also we'd like to tell about bars, restaurants and supermarkets near our apartment - great choise for everyone! And the sea is just 1 minute walking. Awesome! We highly recommend to stay there!

Experience an authentic Maltese townhouse newly transformed into a quaint, upmarket guesthouse. Located at first floor, the large family room boasts of a traditional Maltese balcony with beautiful views of Howard Gardens and Mdina beyond. The area is perfect for visiting places of interest, dining out and much more, yet for when you choose to stay in, the room is equipped with the latest tv technology offering thousands of channels, as well as a sound system - just plug in any device and relax!
Each room in the guest house has been designed with a different theme in mind. This room is all about the opulence of the colour gold. The airconditioned room features a luxurious king size double bed, and two single beds at loft level. A cot may also be accommodated. Underlying the loft is a fully equipped kitchenette and dining table, as well as a small shower bathroom. The traditional Maltese balcony overlooking the street and the picturesque Howard Gardens allows one to sit and watch. Attention to detail throughout ensures the accommodation provides every comfort holiday-makers might require.

  • Very nice and large room. large double bed with in addition 2 single beds on the mezzanine. the room is located in a beautiful typical house, with walking access to the fortified town of mdina. parking right in front. you will even have this small blue wooden balcony typical of Maltese architecture. the decor is nice and typical, far from the sanitized standards of soulless hitels. here, no ikea, but chandeliers, old tiles, carpets .. I who used to travel, I like to discover this kind of place, a little loss so. there is enough to make a coffee, tv, a beautiful balcony, a good mattress .. we enjoyed our stay. good address.

  • Our stay with Antonio was nice. His house has a romantic courtyard and interesting details. On the walls, paintings and etchings. A veritable museum! We had a comfortable bed and good shower. One got feeling of what life in Malta could be. Lots of interesting information and stories about Mdina from Antonio made our stay a pleasure.

  • Antiono's place is wonderfull. He had a beautiful house where you feel immediately like home. Antonio is always ready to help you with anything: giving good advice for visiting, restaurant and the bus information. He is a very friendly man and tells a lot of interesting stories. If we ever come back to Malta, we would stay immediately with him. Also the breakfast was really nice. Thank you, Antonio!

  • I had a great time in Malta and Jeanine's townhouse was a wonderful place to stay.

    Gary2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Jeanine and Adrian were extremely hospitable. They were excellent about communicating, local tips, making us feel welcome, and responding when we had a small concern, which turned out to be user error. 🤦 We would definitely stay again!! Rabat was a great place to call home base, a short walk to many tourist sites, food and Mdina. There were only 2 things that prevented the place from feeling like home. The heaters take a little time to warm the house up, it can be pretty chilly in February (we live in sunny Florida which probably exaggerated that for us). We had to schedule our showers due to a small hot water heater. It was easy enough for the 2 of us to coordinate, alternating morning and evening showers, but it may take a bit more thought for larger groups. Please don't let that detract you from renting this excellent place, just take it as tips and tricks on staying in a 500 year old beautiful townhome.

    Tarin2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Moonlight is a wonderful place and is so thoughtfully crafted by the hosts. It's one of those very few listings on Airnbnb that offers such traditional, yet authentic experience in Rabat, Malta. Highly recommended! Jeanine and Adrian are wonderful hosts, who were so resourceful during the whole time. I'll definitely consider taking up the place again when in Malta.)

  • Robert let us check in an hour early so we could drop bags off as we were on the way to a Wedding which luckily he did as all the roads were been resurfaced nearby so majority of roads were closed and traffic was gridlocked and we would have missed the Wedding. Did not spend anytime in the apartment as we literally just slept there for one night but place was clean and as described.

Stunning 3 bedroom townhouse in a beautiful location: within the ancient walled city of Mdina. Recently renovated to the highest standards. Agatina's is a comfortable home brimming with old character and charm yet complimented by modern furnishings.
The property, named Agatina's, is situated in the heart of Mdina - Malta's old capital city. Mdina is a fortified Medieval City of around 300 inhabitants. It is one of Europe's finest examples of an ancient walled city and is extraordinary in its mix of medieval and baroque architecture. Living in Mdina is comparable to residing in an open air museum. It is a perfect location for those who enjoy culture and for those who would truly like to experience residing in this magnificent city steeped in history where everything is within walking distance. Its location cannot be emphasised enough - it is situated WITHIN the walled city of Mdina (not in other towns such as Rabat, Bahrija, Mtarfa or Mosta nor in the outer-limits of Mdina). This is quite a rarity as there are very few opportunities for tourists to live and reside within Mdina. Our location in the 'Silent City' of Mdina is unrivalled compared to many other available properties that advertise themselves as located in Mdina, when in fact they are outside the city gates of Mdina. Agatina's is a property that has been recently renovated with modern furnishings. The final result is a very comfortable property that can easily host 7 guests in its 3 large bedrooms both in the Summer and Winter months. For potential guest's convenience, here is a general description of the layout of the house. Agatina's is spread over 3 floors that are connected by a central and majestic staircase. The ground floor/1st floor opens to a living room. One can find 2 large and comfortable leather sofas that face each other and a large coffee table in this room. In a chest of drawers, we provide numerous books, maps and touristic information that all guests to Mdina will find useful. The property then leads to a small study area, where a cosy desk is situated under the staircase. This is an ideal place to read and relax. It is also the epitome of a laptop-friendly work area. One can then proceed to a separate dining room with comfortable seating for 7 people in the shape of a large Mahogany table and 6 chairs. The dining room leads to a courtyard which is large enough to dine in the open air and/or host a barbecue. The kitchen is also found on the ground/1st floor. The kitchen is furnished with a microwave, separate hobs and oven, toaster, fridge, kettle etc. There is also a washing machine available in the kitchen. Also situated on the ground/1st floor is a separate WC and a separate shower. Onwards to the the 2nd floor. On the right side of the 2nd floor there is a bedroom with 2 single beds. These can be joined together to form a majestic double bed. The room is centred around a large window, which provides a substantial amount of natural sunlight, that overlooks the quaint alley that leads to the house. On the left hand side of the 2nd floor there is a second bedroom with 2 single beds (these also can be joined together to form a double bed). This second bedroom enjoys an ensuite shower-room and an ensuite bathroom (allowing 2 people to wash at the same time) with a WC and 2 'his' and 'her' sinks. There is also a small balcony which can be accessed from this bedroom where one can sit and enjoy the tranquility that Mdina provides. The 3rd and final floor consists of a large double ensuite bedroom which commands lovely views of Mdina's skyline. We like to refer to this as the 'honeymoon suite’. This room enjoys an adjoining shower-room with a large shower, WC and sink. This bedroom also enjoys a small and pleasantly designed functioning kitchenette. The 3rd and final floor also consists of a roof terrace where one can pleasantly enjoy a drink whilst enjoying stunning views of the Mdina Cathedral and Mdina's skyline. We will do our utmost to ensure that you will enjoy your stay in Mdina. Although there are 3 double bedrooms, we are able to host 8 people in total by placing two folding beds in the other bedrooms.
Mdina is one of Europe's finest examples of an ancient walled city and extraordinary in its mix of medieval and baroque architecture. For a list of things to do in Mdina: (URL HIDDEN) Particular highlights include the Natural History Museum in Palazzo Vilhena, the Carmelite Church, Palazzo Falzon, St. Agatina's can be used as base to visit most sites in Malta such as Valletta, the 3 Cities, Marsaxlokk, Sliema, St.

Little bit noisy at nights due to the parking place near the house. It would be better if there will at least one cleaning during one week staying or more, but I know its not a hotel. I recommend this place for staying :)

A 5 min walk to the picturesque walled city of M’dina, which has fantastic views across the Island, amazing historical buildings, places to visit, day and night. It's central location and good public transport links make it a perfect base to discover popular places such as Valletta, Golden,Bay and Mellieha Bay, Mosta church, San Anton Gardens, Sliema, and Marsaxlokk. A ½ hour boat trip will get you to the Island of Gozo. Malta is also very popular for diving. There will be lots of events going on as Valletta is the 2018 European cultural city of the year.
  • What a beautiful place to stay. Absolutely loved the character and having breakfast on the sunny rooftop verandah was a real treat in the winter. Medina is just visible. Learned a lot about the local culture and enjoyed attending midnight mass at one of the many local churches. A special time. Thank you!

  • In November 2019 we spent ten nice and relaxing days in Jackie's house in Rabat. The absolute highlight is the roof terrace, but also the other rooms are nicely furnished. Very good is that there is also a bathroom on each floor, because I would not like to sleep on the narrow spiral staircase. For guests with small children or with hip problems, the accommodation due to the stairs rather not suitable; she was no problem for us. The kitchen is quite well equipped (with spices, oil, vinegar, etc.), so you can cook something quickly, if you do not always want to eat. Upon arrival we found bread, fruit, eggs and a few drinks - good service! :-) Rabat is a nice little town; Due to the central location, it is actually not that far anywhere. And in the beautiful Mdina you can easily stroll on foot. The communication with Jackie was very good.

  • An old, nicely renovated house in a central but quiet location with easy walking distance to public transport (Rabat main bus stop).

    Antje2019-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed as a family with older children five days in Jackie's house. Therefore, the stairs were no problem for us. We felt very comfortable. The terrace and the view were great for arriving in Malta and for a great holiday feeling! We will be back! Thank you very much.

  • Jackie's house is a wonderful place to stay in. It is exquisitely furnished and impeccably clean. The location is also perfect, right in the heart of Rabat and at a stone's throgw from the medieval city of Mdina. Well served with frequent buses to Valletta. Perfect for cultural tourism and people seeking a relaxing, enjoyable, easy-going holiday.

    Monica2019-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • We've had a lovely stay at the house. It's very well equipped, including nice additions such as board games and books. The roof terrace is great. There are many restaurants nearby. It's close to the bus stop with good connections (direct connections to Valletta, Blue Grotto, Dingli Cliffs, Bugibba, airport and more). Jackie is very polite and answers quickly.

  • We had a wonderful time at Jackie's place, the house is beautiful and the location is great - we hope to be back one day!

  • What a sweet gem this place is! The location is fabulous for visiting Mdina, a gorgeous fortified medieval city, and is centrally located to be able to travel all over the island. The house is on a quiet pedestrian street with tons of things to see and do close by. The rooftop terrace is a great place to start the day with coffee and to end the day with a glass or two of wine. The house itself is quaint, beautifully decorated and very clean. The kitchen is well fitted out with enough pots and pans to cook meals should you wish to...but with all the wonderful restaurants nearby you may just want to eat out. We absolutely recommend this place and hope to be able to visit here again.

  • Great location. Great facilities and clean. Conveniently located to public transport links and tourists spots in Mdina. Will definitely book again!

  • What a lovely townhouse in Rabat! A beautiful house with two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a well equipped kitchen. We had an amazing stay at the end of march and were even able to have breakfast on the rooftop terrace in the morning. A beautiful quiet spot in the middle of Rabat (a lovely cute town with a cute cafe and bar around the corner, places to shop food as well as in 2 minute walking distance of Mdina). I recommend staying there if you want a quiet, yet central spot in Malta with lovely places to go in close distance - food, bars, restaurants, cafes - yet still in a super quiet lovely side street. Very supportive hosts who even arranged the taxi for us to pick us up. Thank you so much, we had a lovely time and really enjoyed the beautiful house! :-)

  • We were a family of four in Malta for Spring Break. The house was spacious and exactly as shown in the photos. Comfortable and ample room that we weren’t in each other’s space constantly. Located within easy walking distance to the main sights in Mdina and Rabat. Annette was great with responding whenever I had questions and was very helpful. Highly recommend making this your home while enjoying Malta.

    Chermaine Louise2019-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • We recommend you to stay in this house. The location is ideal (close to bus stops and Mdina), the cleanliness is impeccable. A great availability of our interlocutors! Be careful, many stairs serve the apartment.

    Chloé2019-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing location just outside of Mdina city walls! At the end of January parking was also easily available in the mornings/evenings a minute away from the property. The host was very responsive and Lina was lovely and really helpful!

    Jamie2019-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • What a lovely stay at Annete and Ryan's place!! The apartment is newly and tastefuly refurbished, but also has the maltese character that we tourists only see in museums around Malta. It gives you an exciting feeling of really experiencing of how maltese people really live, for instance you can see where the water colected from the rain goes into the cistern under the house. Besides that, it's cozy and we felt right at home. It had kitchenware, comfy beds, 2 bathrooms, washing machine, and good wifi! The check in and out experiences were excelent. We were warmly received by Lina, who lives next door, she showed us around, answered our questions about the city. Also Annete always kept in touch making sure we had everything we needed. Communication was easy and polite! Besides, the house is 5min on foot from Mdina, and 2min from the Rabat main bus stops, so its the perfect place to explore Mdina and the whole Malta from. We totally recomend this place!

Casa Del Tesoriere is a stunningly beautiful 500 year old Palazzo that has been lovingly converted and restored by my family. It is located within the ancient walled city of Mdina: home to many grand palaces that housed the wealthiest and most influential families of Maltese nobility. Widely popular with tourists and easily one of the most picturesque properties in Malta, it enjoys unobstructed views over Mdina’s Bastion Square, it is truly a gem. Ideal for team building/work retreats!
The palazzo, named Casa Del Tesoriere, is situated in the heart of Mdina - Malta's old capital city. Mdina is a fortified Medieval City of around 300 inhabitants. It is one of Europe's finest examples of an ancient walled city and is extraordinary in its mix of medieval and baroque architecture. It is home to many palaces, and used to host Malta's wealthiest and most influential families. You now have the opportunity to reside in one of these palaces. Furthermore, Casa Del Tesoriere is the only detached property in Mdina, that sits isolated in the middle of Mdina's Bastion Square - a tourist hotspot in the heart of Mdina. Given size, layout and ability to host a large number of guests, it is ideal for team building/work retreats! The 5 bedrooms can comfortably host up to 10 guests. We can even host up to 12 guests with a variety of single folding beds in 2 bedrooms (see photos for more information). Typical of these beautiful historic buildings, the ground floors date back as far as the 14th centuries and their slightly older first floors built in the 16th and 17th centuries. The majority of the property was built 300 years ago, features of the building date back even further (500 years plus). Casa Tel Tesoriere has undergone significant renovations in the past three years, in order to ensure a property capable of comfortably hosting a large number of guests. For potential guest's convenience, here is a general description of the layout of the house. This is one of the most picturesque properties in Mdina, and directly overlooks Mdina’s Bastion Square. Unique, in that it is the only detached property in Mdina, it has been lavishly furnished to be offered on the short-term lets market. This property comprises of an entrance hallway, with an art-nouveau inspired dining room on one side, and a fully furnished kitchen (with all modern appliances including a toaster, hobs/burner/fridge-freezer and kettle) on the other side. Additional rooms on the ground floor include an ensuite (with shower, sink and W.C.) double bedroom, and a hybrid conservatory-style dining room both with direct access to our sunny and pleasant garden. The large and colourful garden is centred around our hybrid pond/pool. This shallow-depth, jet-powered pond/pool with only COLD water is designed to refresh our guests during the hot summer months. It is a repurposed pond, therefore is not the largest. Also located on the ground floor is a small W.C. Halfway up the majestic staircase leading to the first floor is a bedroom, with 2 single beds. This characterful room has a large bronze background, along with a large mirror creating a very unique ambiance. An additional single folding bed can be placed here. The first floor consists of another two double bedrooms. The first double bedroom, enjoys an ensuite (shower, sink and W.C.) and has access to a separate balcony overlooking the garden. The other double bedroom is styled in an art-nouveau manner. Exactly adjacent to this bedroom (though not ensuite) is a family-style bathroom (which includes both a shower, and a bath, and a W.C.). An additional single folding bed can be placed here. There is also another balcony, accessible from the first floor hallway, that overlooks the garden. Another excellent spot for a quick lunch in the sun. Arguably the pièce de résistance of the entire property (though one may legitimately claim that the garden is the highlight of this palazzo) is the similarly imposing and impressive drawing room/Sala Nobile (serving as a living, dining and study area) that overlooks Mdina’s Bastion Square. With numerous chandeliers, an indoor fire place (for DECORATION purposes only), imposing bookshelves, and a large table that serves as an ideal workstation. The Sala also enjoys a quaint balcony overlooking the square - perfect to breathe in the morning air whilst enjoying your coffee! The upper levels of the property consist of a separate shower-room, and a final double bedroom which is on the top floor of the property. Access to the roof is NOT permitted. We cannot stress the unique nature of this Palazzo. We will do our utmost to ensure that you will enjoy your stay in Mdina.
Mdina is one of Europe's finest examples of an ancient walled city and extraordinary in its mix of medieval and baroque architecture. Particular highlights to visit in Mdina include the Natural History Museum in Palazzo Vilhena, the Carmelite Church, Palazzo Falzon, St. This Palazzo can be used as base to visit most sites in Malta such as Valletta, the 3 Cities, Marsaxlokk, Sliema, St.
  • We had a wonderful family holiday in Andrea's beautiful palace. This outstanding place in the heart of stunning Mdina gave a unique touch to our stay in Malta! Thank you Andrea for sharing this family treasure with us!

  • We booked 3 properties from Andrea and Joanna in Mdina for our large group. All houses were beautiful and comfortable! Andrea and Joanna were extremely welcoming and helpful from the moment we made a reservation till we checked out. They are very friendly and care about their guests, and made us feel comfortable and happy during our stay in Mdina. We had no problem and left with great memories, so definitely recommend them as your hosts in Mdina! Thank you again Andrea and Joanna!

  • Wonderful old house, clearly lovingly kept and maintained, full of interesting character. We would really recommend for any group coming to Malta to stay in this house! Situated in the heart of Mdina you are surrounded by medieval buildings, great restaurants, and so much atmosphere, as well as great views from the square! The house is bigger in person, and very comfortable. Beds were great, plenty of towels available. You feel like you’re in a period drama just sitting in the living room, people watching from the balconies, or slipping up the stone spiral staircase. You can park right out side the house, and get the privilege of driving into Mdina like a vip, thanks to the hosts arranging a parking pass. Mdina is amazingly located to explore all of Malta, everything is a 30 min drive or less. Go to the catacombs in Rabat (10mins walk) if you have the time! Also recommend Fontanella for dinner and Coogi (right beside the house), for drinks. Andrea and Joanna kindly left us an amazing welcome basket, and brought in heaters when it got a bit cold (we came in November). They were super responsive, friendly and helpful, cannot recommend them as hosts enough!

It lived up to and beyond our expectations and I can only imagine how amazed people who are coming to Malta for the first time, will love the experience. Highly recommended. Fantastic hosts who made sure that all the information was correct. I will definitely be booking their home again, when I come to visit my family.

I converse in English and am multilingual, with an outgoing character and enjoy hosting people.
Rabat, the suburb of Malta's old capital city Rabat is a village located in the West of Malta, just outside Mdina. The name of the village means a 'suburb' in Semitic, as it was once the suburb of Mdina, the old capital city. In the 15th century, while the area served as a shelter from constant pirate attacks, several religious orders arrived in Rabat, remaining there ever since. When the Order of St. John arrived in Malta, Rabat earned significance for its close proximity to Mdina, St Paul’s Grotto, the Covent Schools and for the arable farmland in the village. During the late 19th century, under the British Rule, Rabat saw the introduction of a number of new social services, such as the building of the first primary school, the initiation of medical and postal services, the upgrading of spring water, street lighting and the start of the train service between Valletta and Rabat. It was also in those times when the two music band clubs, L’Isle Adam and Count Roger were established. The 20th century brought about major developments in Rabat. The population increased to around 12,000 after the Second World War. This growth encouraged the construction of new housing areas such as Tal-Virtu and Ghajn Qajjet. Nowadays, this remarkable development distinguishes the old part of the town from the new. Rabat contributes to the Maltese economy by exploiting tourism and agriculture. Parts of the film Munich and Black Eagle were shot in Rabat, while the Apostolic Nunciature of the Holy See to the Republic of Malta is located in Rabat too. Rabat: Things to see and do The Catacombs: Rabat hosts the well-known Catacombs of St. Paul and St. Agatha. These were utilized in Roman times to lay the dead to rest, as the Romans thought it unhygienic to bury the dead in the city. Domvs Romana (Roman Villa): The Domvs Romana hosts the remains of a valuable townhouse that has excellent mosaics found in the Peristyle and the surrounding rooms. The mosaic pavements rank among the finest and most ancient mosaic compositions in the western Mediterranean, along with those of Pompeii and Sicily. St. Paul’s Grotto: During the Roman rule, the city of ‘Melita’ extended up to the Parish Church of St. Paul. The ditch surrounding the city was full of caves that were utilised as graves by the residents. Tradition holds that the Apostle St. Paul used one of these caves as a base for his apostolic work, which became a meeting place for the first Christian community. This grotto could thus be considered as the foundation site of the Catholic Church in Malta, a declaration that was done in 1617. Since then, the grotto has been considered as a sacred space, and many influential people showed their respect for this grotto, including His Holiness Pope John Paul II in 1990. Casa Bernard: A 16th century palace combining fine architecture and impressive antique furniture, paintings and objets d’art. Wignacourt Museum: This museum hosts an exhibition of Punic-Roman artefacts including ceramics, pottery, portraits, sculptures and so much more. Visit Chadwick Lakes (Wied il-Qlejgha): Wied il-Qlejgha is the remains of a river that existed during the Pleistocene era. Chadwick Lakes are filled by water gathering from nearby fields because of a dam that was erected in the valley. The dams were built by the British Government in 1886 by Sir Oswald Chadwick and so it became known as Chadwick Lakes. During the 1990’s, part of the valley was cleaned and the side walls were replaced by rubble stones. These enabled flora and fauna to congregate within, and yet hold strong during heavy water flows. Street furniture was introduced so that the area can also be enjoyed by day visitors. Chadwick lakes today provides a relaxing winter outing for families and children, who can enjoy the flora and fauna present together with the small waterfalls onsite.
  • Sandra was the best host we could've expected and then some. Absolutely awesome, top-notch communication, super friendly, going out of her way to make our stay enjoyable and always sharing our joy as we explored Malta and discovered one exciting place after another. We enjoyed every day of our stay at Sandra's, got plenty of good advice and discovered some places that we would've missed otherwise. Our room was comfortable, clean and spacious, with lots of lockers, closets and drawers to store our things in, a nice large bed, bottle of water waiting for us on arrival, our own slippers and towels plus plenty of blankets to spare. The apartment itself is very conveniently located near the old Malta capital of Mdina. Very good bus connections from Rabat (10 mins walk), plus an almost direct connection from/to the airport via the X3 bus. Nearest grocery store is located 3 mins away. Also great location for sightseeing and hiking, as the southern/western cliffs are near. Overall I'd recommend staying at Sandra's with all my heart. Don't hesitate :)

Great location, fully accessible through the bus stop across the road. Historical attractions at walking distance.
  • Nice flat, enough space, good location, in walking distance to a bakery, restaurants around the corner. Free parking in front of the apartment. Bedrooms away from the streetside, so not a problem that People in the bar on the square can be noisy. We didn't see the owners but the welcome gifts were appreciated.

  • Josephine’s place is simply incredible. The location is perfect, being within the beautiful and historic Rabat, as well as a stones throw from Mdina. Even though it looks like there could be traffic noise, the bedrooms are all at the back so remain peaceful. The beds are comfortable and the rooms all have heating/air conditioning so the temperature remains as you like it, whatever time of year. The apartment and everything within it is spotless. I can not fault the cleanliness at all and it helped me to feel very much at home. Josephine goes above and beyond. Everything needed was there. I stayed for a long weekend and didn’t like the idea of being wasteful by buying jars of jam and other food items that I knew wouldn’t be finished by the end of our stay. Josephine clearly feels the same way as all daily basics were there to be used. Tea, coffee, condiments, oil, dishwasher tablets....everything is thought of! We arrived to a basket of Maltese goodies, as well as bottles of mineral water and a Christmas tree! Josephine is a born host and clearly takes pride in looking after her guests in this beautiful apartment. Thank you so much, Josephine. I will be returning to your place for as long as I’m welcome!

    Victoria2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • incredibly well cared for place. every single possible amenity you could think of.....for example, chocolates colour co-ordinated for each room, not just one hair dryer but two hair dryers and two hair straighteners, incredibly clean. Josephine even put up a Christmas tree for us!!!!!

  • This is a beautiful apartment in an excellent location, centered between Mdina and Rabat so it is easy to walk and explore both small historic cities. The apartment is spacious, comfortable and very clean. Communication with the owner is easy. In 6 weeks of cycling through Sicily and Malta, this is one of our favorite places. I highly recommend staying here!

    Carol2019-11-09T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic stay at Josephine’s apartment taking the bus (which is very good value and is easily accessible from the bus station across the road from the apartment) all over the island to visit several of Malta’s sites. The apartment itself is very spacious, comfortable and excellent value for money. It had all the amenities we needed for our stay with young children including a washing machine and space to dry clothes (including pegs and a clothes horse). And upon our arrival we were greeted by some lovely local food and drink which was a great way to start our holiday. The restaurants in the immediate vicinity were all very good and we enjoyed being in walking distance of the magnificent Mdina.

    Amy2019-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful and spacious apartment at THE place in Rabat: on the edge of the center, opposite Mdina. Clean, cozy, everything you need is available. The square is busy and noisy, but it didn't bother us. Recommended!

    Diana2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • What a fabulous apartment. We loved every bit of it. It had a great view. If we go back to Malta, we would want to stay there again. We will be recommending it to all our friends and family who travel. Owners are so quick to assist with anything that may arise. We had every amenity we would need and more. Beyond happy with our stay.

    Rita2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment was spotless and in a great location. Close to restaurants and steps away from Mdina. Host was very responsive and the self check-in was very quick and easy. Definitely stay here!

  • Sarah is very friendly and helpful host. House is kept clean all the time, not far from bus stop. Small fruit stall, M2 market and few restaurants are nearby. I can recommend it.

  • I absolutely love this house! Its so unique and beautiful. Its located in a quiet cozy part of Rabat, its about a three minute walk to Mdina. Lots of GOOD restaurants around. Also there are grocery shops close, the house has a kitchen so a nice meal can be fixed at home. The hosts are wonderful, Ian is really fast to reply and Marthese is absolutely wonderful lady. I hope to come back to Malta soon and stay at the house again!

    Marina2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Ian and Marthese’s home is stunning. It feels like you’re staying in a piece of history. The location in Rabat, just outside the walls of Mdina, it ideal for exploring the area and many other parts of the island. The only minor issue we had was there is only heat in one of the bedrooms and the large house for quite cold, especially at night, in the winter months. Other than that, we loved our stay!

    Lindsay2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • This is a beautiful historical flat. Right on the boarder of Rabat and Medina. Beautiful space. Great communicative host. Rightly recommend

Centrally located near restaurants, pleasant places to walk, public transport etc Marthese is just the most lovely person. Well connected and as much of a guide as you need. She is so helpful and it was so useful having her tips The building characterful, and well furnished with some food items to allow you to make the most of it. Definitely recommended and will be back.

  • The place is absolutely splendid. The landlord is helpful and very nice. Enjoyable experience

    2019-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • We loved the house, beautiful well furnished and equipped. however, we suffered a little heat in the central hall. The location is truly exceptional due to its proximity to the bus station. We were able to take several walks in Mdina and Rabat. It is certainly beautiful Mdina, but equally beautiful the historic center of Rabat, perhaps even more beautiful, because more true and less touristy.

A great little supermarket and ATM directly across the road, what m,ore could you want. I did have problems finding the place which was all my fault. I recommend not to use a Garmin GPS, use Google maps which is far superior and free. I highly recommend this airbnb. I have no hesitation in staying here again. Fabulous Hosts.

Presenting Annie's Place - a recently restored property on the short term rental market. Annie's Place is a quaint townhouse, built over 300 years ago, with features such as a Classical Norman Arch dating back to over 500 years ago. Located in the heart of the Medieval walled city of Mdina, Annie's place has been renovated to the highest standards, whilst retaining its original features. The result is a characterful and charming home ideal for 2-3 guests.
The property, named Annie's Place, is situated in the heart of Mdina - Malta's old capital city. Annie's Place is a property that has been recently renovated with modern furnishings. The final result is a very comfortable property that can easily host 2 to 3 guests both in the Summer and Winter months. For potential guest's convenience, here is a general description of the layout of the house. Annie's Place is a recently restored property on the short term rental market. The Entrance Hall and Living Room consists of 2 large and comfortable sofas (one of which is a sofa bed), and a lounge chair. In a chest of drawers, we provide numerous books, maps and touristic information that all guests to Mdina will find useful. The antiporta is this room means that one can guarantee sunshine, whilst still ensuring that one's privacy is respected. Near to the living room is the bathroom of the apartment. Consisting of a W.C., sink and shower, as well as a washing machine. PLEASE NOTE - given space restrictions, a reduced-size water heater had to be installed. Therefore, guests should ideally avoid taking immediate successive showers and wait 20-30 minutes in order for the water heater to re-heat. A slight inconvenience, but necessary given the constrains of renovating such a classic property. This room leads to the kitchen and dining room, with comfortable seating for 4 people. The kitchen is furnished with a microwave, separate hobs and oven, toaster, fridge, kettle etc. From the kitchen, one then proceeds to the bedroom. Within the bedroom there is a small study area, where a cosy desk is situated. This is an ideal place to read and relax. It is also the epitome of a laptop-friendly work area. We will do our utmost to ensure that you will enjoy your stay in Mdina. Although there is only a single double bedroom, we are able to host 3 people in total through the use of a sofa bed.
Mdina is one of Europe's finest examples of an ancient walled city and extraordinary in its mix of medieval and baroque architecture. For a list of things to do in Mdina: (URL HIDDEN) Particular highlights include the Natural History Museum in Palazzo Vilhena, the Carmelite Church, Palazzo Falzon, St. Annie's can be used as base to visit most sites in Malta such as Valletta, the 3 Cities, Marsaxlokk, Sliema, St.
  • The place is located in a quiet street in Mdina and just lovely. Communication was really easy and Joanna answered all our questions immediately. We were even provided with some bread, milk and ham for breakfast. The kitchen is really well equipped and provides everything that you need, if you decide to have an indoor meal instead of going out and discovering one of many nice places in Mdina or Rabat itself. We felt very welcomed and at home. Thank you for making our stay that comfortable.

    Stefanie2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay at the townhouse in Mdina. It’s in a great location in Mdina, was clean and had a well stocked kitchen. We appreciated the milk, bread and biscuits! The WiFi was great and the shower had good water pressure and plenty of hot water. Parking outside the walls was easy - we used the parking outside of the Greek’s Gate, which was a very short walk to the property. The property doesn’t get much natural light, but it’s interior is well lit. The hosts were very responsive and helpful. Would recommend!

  • I can't thank enough to Andrea and Joanne who made my stay so special and memorable. They were always availabe to provide information and answer my requests before and during my stay. They are the best Airbnb hosts I've ever had! The place was exactly as shown in the pictures - well-decorated, clean, comfortable. It's a very unique and magical place in the center of the medieval town. I loved to walk around day and night to discover the beauty of the town. I highly recommend this place to everyone, and I would love to visit again!

  • A really nice staying at Mdina old Townhouse. House was exactly as shown in pictures. Nice, clean and stylish. Communication with the host was exellent, smooth and fast. Andreas Mother Joanna faced me at Midina and she is really hospitable and most helpful. Mdina as a town is so wonderful and peaceful and also a good base from where wisit other places at Malta. Highly recommendable.

  • This was a treat. I have been traveling to Malta frequently for work, and was tired of the hotels. I wanted to learn more about the real Malta. The apartment was perfect! I was living in history. It is an ideal location for exploring Mdina, Rabat, Mosta, and Valetta. I brought my mountain bike with me, and was riding in though some incredible country side in just minutes.

  • Andrea’s place is a fantastic place to stay both during winter and summer. We’ve had amazing contact which was super quick and to the point. In case of questions we could always send a message. The place is right in the venter of Mdina and a great area to explore the island from. Fully recommend this place

  • We really enjoyed our stay at Annie's Place. Andrea gave us lots of useful information ahead of our arrival particularly in regard to the parking arrangements. Joanna was so welcoming and texted us a few times during our stay to ask if we needed anything. As we arrived quite late in the evening, we were particularly grateful for the generous provisions Joanna left for us. What a privilege it was to stay within the walls of Mdina and to explore this special city by day and night.

  • Sandra is much more than just an Airbnb host. She is kind and devoted to her guests, accommodating their every need and even anticipating the needs her guests might not have considered. I will always remember how she went out of her way to show me where the Start line of my race was so I wouldn't get confused on race day, and how she took me on a late tour through Mdina with recommendations that were exceedingly useful to me on my visit there the next day. Sandra even asked the locals where the old synagogue was, because she knew I was visiting from Israel and would be interested in the site, and dropped me off where I needed to go on the morning of my check-out. The property is conveniently located near public transportation, and there is a shortcut to Rabat that makes walking between the two short and easy. There is a convenience store just around the corner. I also appreciated the cleanliness of the home and the comfort, which allowed me to rest well before and after my race.

Sandra was quick and very accommodating after I gave her only 2 hours notice before booking and arriving at her house =) Sandra was so welcoming and helpful. She even drove me down into town multiple times and showed me around the area. Gave me so many great tips for both locally and the whole of Malta. The house is lovely and the room is perfect. The location is also relatively close to both sides of town. The rooftop terrace is great for a sunset of the country and sea. I would highly recommend to anyone passing by Mdina/Rabat to stay here atleast one night. Thank you so much Sandra for everything. I cannot wait to return!

  • It was nice, better than the photos. Water and drain was a little slow but except for that it was great. Clean and comfortable.
